I have a question regarding Sindarin, I dunno where to look for this so I was hoping someone might know here...
I'm in the process of writing a book, and, I would like to use Sindarin in it, the problem is I don't know if there is an actual copyright on the language that would keep me from using it if I actually got this published. Does anyone know? help would be much appreciated

Copyright issues: "As the artistic creations of J.R.R. Tolkien, they [his languages] enjoy the same copyright protections as his literary works, including but not limited to restrictions on the amount of quotation, purpose of use, and creation of derivative works." However, that "doesn't mean that it is necessary to receive anyone's permission to write about or even in Tolkien's invented languages, so long, of course, as the limits of Fair Use and/or other applicable copyright law as regards the amount and proportionality of quotation, the nature of its use, etc. are observed."

Thank you! I had a feeling the languages might have a copyright to them. I think it might be too much trouble to get consent so it looks like I'll be using Latin

I prefer Quenya, but that's just me hehe. I love Sindarin as well but Quenya is the language I chose to study. It's been awhile now since did my course work on it, but I might pick it up again soon.
