I think "tir" is would be watch in Quenya, since you can't have "d" by itself in this language. So maybe Hallatiro or Hallatir would be Haldir. :)
I think that oiale is eternally. I'm not sure about bound. (It might be nut- or tuc-, but I don't know if even one of them is right.)

^Your welcome!

ok, for here's what i found in the English-Quenya wordlist on Ardalambion.com

BIND (see TIE); in more abstract sense: avalerya- (make fast, restrain, deprive of liberty) -VT41:5, 6

TIE (vb.) #nut- (cited in source as nutin "I tie", 1st person aorist) -NUT

so, the passive participle (i.e. bound) of these would be ?avalende (i can't remember exactly how lerya- would change  ) and nunta

If you're confused, it could just be oiale nunta, nunta oiale (bound forever) , or even oionunta, if you want it in one word. :)

^You're welcome. :)

Haldir, that wordlist on Ardalambion has this for guardian:

GUARD - use the word glossed "watch, heed", q.v. Cf. LT1:258. For "guard" as a noun, #tirno "watcher" may be isolated from halatirno (see FISHWATCHER)
(and just to satiate your curiousity about FISHWATCHER ;) )
FISH lingwë (stem *lingwi-) (perhaps the general word, as opposed to hala), SMALL FISH hala, "FISH-WATCHER" (i.e., kingsfisher, a bird) halatir (halatirn-) or halatirno -LIW, SKAL2, TIR

I believe Marchwarden means Border-watcher, so:
BORDER réna (edge, margin); ríma (edge, hem) -REG, Rî
and for watcher you could use tirno or (i think) varyaro (which for a female Marchwarden would be varyare), meaning "protector" (again, i think--i'm pretty sure, though). So that gives you Renatirno or Renavaryaro (or just Renavaryar, which is gender-neutral).

Aw, you're welcome. :) I'll do my best. There's a wonderful Quenya course (which is the kind of Elvish I know) at Ardalambion.com, if you're interested. If you want, come over to the thread where people want to learn. There are several of us who know some Elvish, and we could help teach the others. :)

lol yeah. :dunce: Haldir, good luck with Sindarin. I'm trying to brush up on mine. Let's move discussion of learning to Elvish to Miluial's thread, all right? :)
