Sorry, Eruraina, I arrived back at A-U about a month (or more) after you had originally posted; I never read that page.

Emerald could be translated as "green jewel", so we would get Quenya Laicamir, Laicamírë or Sindarin Mírlaeg, Mírgalen, Calenvir, Calemmir, Laegvir etc.

As for "Come on, lets go." in Sindarin, the closest I can think of is Tolo, ledhiam aen! "Come, we ought to go!"

Does anyone know the Sindar version of "grandfather"? I've tried to translate it myself but to no avail. :P

As far as I know there is no Sindarin word for grandfather/grandpa. Perhaps something like "Adar dhaer" (Great Father [Father Great]) or a compound like "Daeradar" may work (do note thought that this compound is a reconstruction). Hope this helps :-D

Could anyone translate Arwen's Song into Elvish for me, please?

Here are the lyrics:

With a sigh
You turn away
With a deepening heart
No words to say

You will find
That the world has changed forever.

The trees are now turning from green to gold
And the sun is now fading
I wish I could hold you closer.

I know that it's a pretty long text, so take your time. I would prefer to have it in Sindarin, but if Quenya is easier for you, that would be okay as well.

*Arya*: The Quenya word for "lily" is _indil_, adapted from Valarin _iniðil_ (cp. Adûnaic _inzil_). So in Quenya I'd make "Lady of the Lily" something like Indilmë, Indilwen, Herindil etc. In Sindarin I'd adapt _iniðil_ as _indil_, since the Sindar would probably only come across the Valarin influence through Quenya and not directly to make *_inidhil_. Then I might make Indilwen or Herilindil... In Quenya the verb "to fly" is _wil-_ and "free" would be _léra_ (for a person), _lerina_ (for a thing), or _mirima_. So Wililéra or Vililéra for a name, perhaps. And in Sindarin _lain_ is free, so Revialain or Laidhreviol.

I don't think I could do it in Sindarin since there are many untranslateable words, like "away", "turn", "find", etc.

This is a tall order for anyone who wishes to try: I would like the entire poem All that is Gold does not glitter translated, to whichever dialect you prefer. Thank you, and I appreciate your work! The beginning of the poem is in my signature.

Well, Right now I unfortunately don't have much time to make translations :annoyed2: , but I do know of a rather good Sindarin translation or The Riddle of Strider by R. Derdinzki which can be found on his website (http://www.elvish.org/gwaith/riddle.htm). Also a quick google search turned up a Quenya version as well, I am not too familiar with Quenya so I can't say how "accurate" it is but it is worth checking out (http://www.geocities.com/athens/parthen ... ature.html). R. Derdzinaki mentions that in Vinyar Tengwar Issue #38 there is a good translation of the riddle into Quenya, however going back and looking in my copy of it I can't seem so find it. Anyway I hope this helps! :bye2:

I wouldn't recommend that Quenya version. Just glancing at it quickly, there are some errors (like word order, and "núva"). I didn't even bother to do more than skim it after I found those. Perhaps I'll attempt a Quenya version later.

Could someone please translate the following quote from the Tale of Arwen & Aragorn for me? It would be nice if it could be in Sindarin and Quenya, but only one version is okay as well.

"I will cleave to you Dunádan and turn from the twilight. Yet there lies the land of my people and the long home of all my kin."
