As so many newbees around here I am asking those simple and easy questions, I would greatly appreciate if you guys could help me out.

I translated a couple of names Letter for letter into Tengwar.

This is what I got so far:

The names are from top to bottom:
Lilia
Bernd
Gianni
Nico

Is this about right? Or is this completely off? If yes could you guys help me correct it?

Looks good! Translating phonetically is actually a bit different from translating literally. Literal translation takes the meaning of the name and translates it, phonetic translation is using the sounds of the letters (this is what you did).

What are the meanings of the names?

What would it look like if I would have translated them litteraly?
Those are the names of my family members and I actually I dont know the meanings for them since I only tried to translate them letter for letter.
Here is the trick question. For a tattoo would it make more sense to get the names in phonetic translation or in litteral translation?

thanks already btw...

You did a good job! I think the way you have it is good. And, if I'm not mistaken, literal translation would be letter for letter. For examloe, in the english language a lot of words end in a silent e. If you translated literally, you would keep that e instead of dropping it.

Well at least I tried and it wasnt completely wrong. But would you mind doing a literal translation of the words? so i can compare them, that would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for your wonderful chart, but obviously did I find this one already, and if you would have only read the other posts in this thread you would have realized that I did translate the names already and just wanted to have someone proof read them, since its going to be something permanent on my body, so please don't just try to make yourself look good ...

Lenwe, I think that chart is wrong. There may be many ways to write tengwar, but I read in the appendixes of LotR that the vowel goes above the letter in front of it, so in the word 'dog' the 'o' would go above the 'g', not the 'd'. At least, thats the way it was written on the ring. Its a common mistake though. I didn't catch it until I translated the text on the ring.
