Well, as Old English is used for the Rohirric language in the LotR, the Old English word for fast is 'fæst', or agile 'léoht'. |

Actually, Tolkien represented Rohirian by the Mercian dialect of Anglo-Saxon (Old English), but the two were not identical. Just like he represented the languages of Dale with Old Norse. For example: OE Théoden = R. Tûrac-, OE holbytla = R. kûd-dûkan, and OE Éothéod = R. Lohtûr. |
