Norbogs are swamp critters from the LOTR online game. I think it's just something they made up. They are also some times called Neekerbreekers and are a large insect of sorts.

I'm sure the dragon was thrilled. The peculiar derivation of his name is explained in a letter by J.R.R. Tolkien written in 1938: 'The dragon bears as a name - a pseudonym - the past tense of the primitive Germanic verb Smugan, to squeeze through a hole: a low philological jest.'
