How come Isildur never resisted to the ring but Aragorn did?? Aragon is his heir and have same traits as Isildur does

Well, I think Isildur didn't know the Ring's powers and so was more susceptible to them. Aragorn knew from long ages of exile and darkness that the Ring was a very powerful evil thing and that no good would come of him using it, so he resisted the temptation.

I agree with what Meldawen said. She explains it well. But I also think that just because Aragorn was Isidur's heir, that doesn't mean he'll be exactly like him. Even though they're related they're two completely different people. Obviously Aragorn turned out to be the better and the stronger. I think Arwen pretty much sums it up when she says, "You are Isildur's heir. Not Isildur himself."

And, to add onto Tinuvel and Meldawen's answers, I have a theory that Arwen herself helped a bit. According to what I think, the knowledge that he has someone that loves him and believes in him probably helped him resist the Ring, in the knowledge that if he succumbs to it, his life will not be the only one that is forsaken.

and of course, Aragorn never actually held or touched the ring, he just saw it. That might of beena factor becuase Isildur got to hold it.

Yeah both theories could be true. Aragorn did not touch the ring and he had a support on his back. Well good guesses

THere is also the fact that Aragorn is openly fighting the temptation he knows is there. Also, he doesn't want to be like Isuldur, and lose to temptation.
