It's here, at long last! The Tolkien Scavenger Hunt 2007, where we will decide A-U's next Official Tolkien Scholar. I'm the Tolkien Scholar 2006, in case you weren't aware, and I'll be starting us off. So pay attention to the rules - you could have sparkly silver stars by the end of it.
I'm going to post a pair of questions in this thread - one from the book, one from the movie - every FOUR DAYS. One of these will be movie trivia, and one will be book trivia. Now, for those of you who participated last year, you'll know that we did a pair of questions every week. However, as we're already into August, there's not quite time for that.
Rules/Stuff to Know:
---> 1. When you have the answer or answers, PM them to me. Don't post them here, and don't tell anyone else what they are. You want to win, right?
---> 2. Every right answer will give you 2 points, and every wrong answer will give you -1. There will be a list, in this post, of all those participating and how many points they have. At the end, the person with the most points wins. This means you have a possible score of 4 points for every four-day period.
---> 3. I will be coming up with questions. The answers to these questions are found in the book or movie that they are from (e.g. FotR, TTT, RotK). Sometimes they're buried pretty deep, but they're there. They may or may not be from the Extended Editions, but they are not from the commentary or special features.
A tentative schedule for the contest:
August 7th (today) is going to be questions from FotR.
August 10th is going to be TTT.
August 14th is going to be RotK.
August 18th is going to be FotR.
August 22nd is going to be TTT.
August 26th is going to be RotK.
August 30th is going to be FotR.
September 3rd is going to be TTT.
September 7th is going to be RotK.
As of now, I'm not sure whether the contest will be continuing after those dates, but I shall edit as soon as I know.
