This is a camp we did based off of the Ranger camp Sarn Ford from Lord Of The Rings. You can see what it looks like in my Lord Of The Rings War In The North Sarn Ford video I did here.

Someday if I get the chance to do this again I would like to get 2 or 3 smaller dome tents to add to the campsite. But for now this will do.

The night one ended up working into a story. We had no intentions of this at all. My solo shots we did almost a month before the ones we did with my friend Chris. I didn't come up with it tell I was arranging the pictures and it all kind of came together.

I will be posting some behind the scenes pictures soon. Sadly we didn't get any video so I went with the slideshow video instead. Hope you enjoy, We had fun doing it. The second time we set it up my friend Chris and I actually got to camp out there overnight. That was a blast! And yes that is a Boromir flag!

Dang..... O_O I need to go camping with you guys!!! Haha

That looks awesome! I have always wanted to do a camp out in costume and everything. I even had my Dad's farm land partitioned out in a "middle earth" map of sorts.

Unfortunately we never made it out to camp between time, price for costumes and matching schedules with everyone.

It would be fun to actually meet! Who knows what the future holds. :-D

Yeah the night was really cool to take pictures with the torches lit and everything. And back there you are pretty concealed from site so it's really cool. Glad you liked it.

That would. :) By what you have said about your location (and the landscape looks just like where we live) I'd reckon we don't really live as far appart as you might innitially suspect.

Yeah, it looked pretty concealed! That really adds to the feel of things. It would just ruin it if there was a building or cars or a highway in the background.

:-D Here are the behind the scenes pics.

My sister who is married to our photographer brought her two little girls down which was fun since they are the height of Hobbits. LOL.

I know I'm biased but they are so adorable.

It was quite fun. If we get a chance to do it again hopefully it will be earlier in the year so it will be greener.

These were from our second set up a couple weeks later, my friend Chris was able to come and we were also able to get a couple of my other sisters involved including the one that had the two little ones with her the first time though she has her back to the camera in this pic.

Chris and I were the only ones able to camp over night so these two pics were taken by us. As you can tell it was pretty cold in the early hours of the morning but once we roasted some brats we warmed up pretty quick. I also have to say I was happy we found the old styled glass bottle sodas at an Albertsons, They have some cool flavors like a Huckleberry flavor.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures and videos. We had a lot of fun doing it.

Very cool! :)

I would immagine the mornings would be cold, I've done my share of camping out this time of year and it gets pretty chilly. A good fore always does wonders! ;)

I missed seeing your later photos! Looks really cool!

Have you guys ever browse the Middle Earth Rangers Forum? They are a bit hardcore and sort of think of themselves the SCA of Dunedain Rangers, but there is a lot of good info and such there for kitting and mapping and re-enactments. I'm registered there under this user name, but haven't posted too much. I mostly read through the info for ideas. Give them a look-see Captain!

Thanks, I will check it out!
On a side note, for fun I added some credits to the end of the videos.

My brother in law and I came up with some ideas for when we hopefully do it in the spring. We are pretty excited about it.
