I stumbled upon this today and thought it was REALLY cool! So I figured I would share it with everyone here. I have never seen an interactive map like this before but it's really neat. http://lotrproject.com/map/#zoom=3&lat= ... ers=BTTTTT |

Good to see this is still going! thought it may get shut down by the estate like so many other Middle Earth mapping projects have. This is very well done! |

Why would they do that? Seems counter productive to me... drive away their own fans? Glad it has not been shut down. Captain Boromir wrote: That is really cool! Indeed! I thought so as well. I would love to have that done for my own map from my book. It's really a wonderful idea! |

A few survived it, most notably due to their not having 'Middle Earth' in the URL. Maybe you could find out what program they are using? |

I was under the impression that things like that were perfectly legal and protected under the "fan work" laws as long as they give proper credit, dont claim ownership, and are not making any money off of it. Hm... there is an idea. I do not know if I would have the technical know-how but it could not hurt to look into it. |
