That's harsh... but funny... Yeah well everyone else already answered the question so I'll just back it up. Elbereth=Varda... good now that that's settled, who want's to go to the Green Dragon???

I read somewhere that since Tolkien was a Catholic that he might have gotten his inspiration for Elbereth from The Blessed Mary-the Mother of God an important figure found in Catholic tradition.
Curious thought.....
