OK I find it extremely weird (and somewhat double-standard) that some of you find the humor/parody pics hilarious and yet find LotR parodies disgusting and disturbing (which was talked about in the other thread)? They are basically the same thing! The humor section on AU does the exact same thing as LotR parodies made by non fans do. I laugh just as much in the humor section here on AU as I do when reading or watching a LotR parody, the only difference is that the content on AU is somewhat G-rated and most of the other parodies aren't but it's really the exact same idea.

Okay again ... the Parodies are fine if they aren't being disgusting and stupid. The pictures that we posted are not a bit disgusting and offensive, so that's why we're okay with them.. the ones WE posted aren't really making fun of the characters' relationships or anything, which is what we dislike.

exactly. As long as the parodies don't offend the relationships of the characters or the important themes of the story they are ok. But as I wrote on the other thread there are some parodies made by Anti-Ringers which are offending/insulting. I don't like these, but the pictures here aren't offending, so I don't have a problem with them
