I'm new to RPing, so creating my own characters seemed like the best place to start.

This character is more of a personal joke than anything, but I like him anyway.

Name: Eglerion

Race: Mirkwood elf

Gender: Male

Age: Equivalent to his late twenties

Height: 6' 1"

Weapons: Stare of Mournful Gloom

Personality: Eglerion is the new steward in Thranduil's underground palace. Although young, he takes his job very seriously. In fact, he takes everything a little too seriously, and a little too literally. His mind is constantly overflowing with plans and slightly depressed thoughts. Even so, he loves to relax and play elvish strategy games.

Appearance: Eglerion has gray eyes and thick, dark golden hair with a slight wave in it. This peculiarity causes him no end of personal shame.

Name: Penelope Took

Race: Hobbit

Age: 23

Height: 3' 5"

Gender: Female

Family: One of a set of non-identical twins. Lived in Tookborough all of her life. Came from an almost too loving and protective home in that she eventually became very bored there. Has one younger brother, who is slightly afraid of her.

Animals: None personally.

Weapons: A small bow, which she is actually quite adept with.

Appearance: Shoulder-lengthed, curly brown hair. Large brown eyes. She would be sweet-looking, if it wasn't for the constant frown of concentration on her face. Generally wears grass-green and yellow.

Personality: Very stubborn and wants more than her uneventful life at home. Used to being babied a little, but at the same time wants to be independent. Very bold, but obviously would be terrified in the face of real peril.

History: When Penelope was younger, she was something of a book worm. When she hit her tweens, she developed a frightening (for a hobbit) taste for adventure. She drags her younger twin around with her everywhere in search of high adventure and gold - lots of gold, like her hero Bilbo Baggins got.

Name: Poppy Took

Gender: Female

Race: Hobbit

Height: 3' 5"

Age: Younger than her twin by about ten minutes.

Animals: A red hen named Bella. Poppy raised Bella from a chick, so the chicken acts more like a cat or dog than a farm animal. Bella is afraid of the sound of running water and wolves howling.

Weapons: A sling shot and bag of stones. Has very sharp aim.

Family: Always sympathized with her younger brother, but found him to be more boring than anything. Always willing to go with her twin into another adventure.

Appearance: Hair is a shade lighter than Penelope's, and is much shorter. Large brown eyes. Usually smiling, and has a very innocent and charming face. Always wears a red ribbon in her hair, dresses are usually blue or red.

Personality: Poppy actually thinks more realistically than her twin, but this is disguised by the fact that she acts half her age. Isn't nearly as interested in the idea of adventure, but the idea of lost treasure appeals to her, and she loves to be with her twin.

History: Has always been either beside Penelope, or slightly behind. Was considered more "normal" than her sister at first, but that idea was abandoned when, at the age of ten, they decided to dig a tunnel all the way to the ocean from their back yard. They actually managed to get the hole several yards deep before giving up (on their mother's firm suggestion).
