(Hey guys, this is REALLY long, so bear with me..... This is the world of my creation, that I set Luinnar Bluefire and Rumour and Mira Shadowmirror in, when I don't place them in Middle Earth..... Welcome to my imagination!!!!!)

The world of Lostarr is not very large in fact; it is rather small, for a world. Its landmass is about the equivalent of the Eastern continents, Europe, Russia, India, Africa, and the Orient. Lostarr is surrounded by an atmosphere similar to ours, with an ozone layer and plenty of oxygen and other things that are needed for its creatures to be sustained. If seen from space, it would look like a small ball of glowing, revolving light, much like a star, but very unlike a star if one looked closer.
Lostarr has one plane of existence, if you have seen Disney’s Peter Pan, then it is very like Neverland, not round, but flat, almost with edges that one could fall off of. The landmass is surrounded by its atmosphere, and closer, by its oceans and seas.
There is a small sea to the North, over which lights play in myriad colors, some say it is the souls of lost sailors in the cold waters of that sea. The name of that body of water is the Noradinian Sea, the most outer rim of which is covered by ice, and no one knows what is beyond that. Another sea, this one large enough to be called an ocean, is to the West of the continent. Its name is the Wirtan Ocean, for it borders on the country of the land of Wirt. The third sea lies to the south, and if not for so much water, it would be a very dry place. Most of the islands there are uninhabitable, due to the parched air. The name of this sea is the Sundead Sea, for due to a quirk in the level of the water, or perhaps the brightness of the Sun, the Sun is only visible at its setting and rising, even though it makes the place unbearably hot during the day and yet freezing cold at night. The last stretch of water is the far Eastern ocean, named the Eorin Ocean, for the land of Eor that it touches…
Now to speak of the lands these seas and oceans border upon. To the North is the land of Norad, to the west the land of Wirt, and to the East the land of Eor. So let us begin with the South. I have told you that the South is an ocean, but it is dotted and spotted with many islands, some tropical, and some desert. Most of them are not named, even though they are on the maps, but the maps that have those islands are old and long unused. The ones that really matter are the larger islands, closer to the mainland. The first island that most sailors come upon is a long strip of land, parallel to the continent. The part of the mainland that the ocean touches is Saarin, and the channel of water between that country and the island is called the Saarin Strip. The island that hems in the Saarin Strip is Hindern Island, for it hinders the flow of the water. The other islands are small, with names like Sindi, Sardan, Setten, Sont, and Sucht. There is no real record of why they all start with ‘s’, but perhaps the first people were rather narrow-minded…
Let’s travel North, shall we? To do that we must cross the continent, and the numerous countries it holds, but that is for another page and another time. When we reach the North, we find Norad, from which the Sea got its name. This land is usually cold, but it does have warm climes, and is almost always covered by fog as thick as pea soup. Norad is rather oval in its shape, with little out-juttings here and there. Its northern-most half is bordered by the Noradinian Sea, and the southern-most half is bordered by mountains. These are the Nadikan mountains, named after the first creature to cross them, a Shapeshifter by the name of Nadika. Mainly Shapeshifters inhabit the Nadikan Mountains now, and most live in warring tribes, but some hire themselves out as assassins and thieves, or other things of that variety. But in Nordan, there are other things beside Shapeshifters, like Humans, and a few Elves, but mostly Giants and Trolls inhabit the lower mountains and the hilly plains. Along the shore there are mainly Elves, for they enjoy the ocean, and they make very good sailors. There are also a few Northern islands, the main three, and the only inhabited ones, go by the names of Nindra, Nulthan, and Nartyan.
Next let us visit the Eastern lands of Eor, which are mostly covered in forests, some dark, some light, full of oak, ash, beech, birch, rowan, and other beautiful trees. There is a small range of mountains down in the Southern part of Eor, and they are covered in dense pine, fragrant and lovely, even in winter. These are the Eresgen Mountains, ‘gen’ meaning ‘coast’, for they border the Eorin Ocean. Some say Elves inhabit these wooded slopes, and I’m sure they’re not far from wrong, since Elves love verdant, beautiful landscapes. A fast-flowing river runs along the Western border of Eor, marking the line between it and S’Ere and Anden. The river, called the Eilen River, then cuts into the Eresgen Mountains in the South of Eor, creating a ravine that leads to the sea cliffs. Humans don’t inhabit the mountains, but they enjoy the flatlands in the middle of Eor, making villages and towns.
Moving inwards, towards the middle of the continent, we find Anden and S’Ere. Anden is a mountainous region, with lots of misty vales and deep, hidden valleys. Dwarves love this country, and it is the Dwarven capital of Lostarr, producing the most beautiful gems, armors, and weapons ever to be made. Not many people actually live on the mountains, since the Dwarves chose to build their kingdoms beneath the stone. Some say Anden is the land of the dead, where the spirits dwell, but that is an old wives’ tale, and not to be taken seriously…
Beneath Anden, divided from it by a branch of the Eilen River, this new river being called the S’Eil Creek, despite the fact that it is just as wide and fast as the Eilen River itself, is S’Ere, a dry place, with lots of sun and little rain, except along the coast, which is one of the most beautiful beaches in Lostarr. Mostly humans live here, but in the great trading cities along the Sundead Sea and S’Eren Bay, traders of all species gather. The Eastern side of S’Ere has the Eresgen Mountains on it, and on the Western side are the Sarnadan Mountains, where the Sarnans, herds of vicious animals, used to live, and still might…
On the other side of the Sarnadan Mountains is Saarin, trading capital of Lostarr. The Southern-most end of Saarin touches the Saarin Strip, a large channel between Saarin and Hindern Island. On the peninsula is Syna, the largest trading city and the capital of Saarin. Humans love it there, but Elves and Dwarves also come to trade, along with the odd Shapeshifter or some such species, even a few of the more respectable Troll and Giant tribes come to buy goods. The Sarnadan Mountains curve around to the West like a hook, entrapping Saarin, except for a wide pass on the Western side, just below the end of the Sarnadan Mountains. The middle of the pass, which is named S’Wen Pass, marks the border between Saarin and Wirt, the Western-most country in Lostarr.
Wirt is not only the Western-most country; it is also the largest country in Lostarr and is mainly flatland and plains, with a few rocky plateaus and other such things. Drifters live here, tribes of Gypsy-like humans that are said to have certain magical abilities and are descended from Elves. The Waetar Mountains line the Southern coast of Wirt, and close off the other end of the S’Wen pass, finishing the border between Saarin and Wirt. To mark the border between Wirt and Norad is the Western end of the Nadikan Mountains. A small lake rests in the Northern plains of Wirt, and a river runs East from it and then South, then branches off, drawing the line between Wirt, the largest country, and Oke, the smallest country in Lostarr. This is the River W’Odan, which ends in a large waterfall that spirals down into a pit at the end of the Sarnadan Mountains…
The last country we shall discuss is Oke; literally meaning ‘lake’, for this country is mostly a lake. There is a small rim of land around the lake that is included as part of Oke, just to mark boundaries. The Nadikan Mountains form the Northern border of Oke, and the Sarnadan Mountains form the Southern border. The River W’Odan marks the Western border, and there is no real Eastern border except the sparse tree line that shows the beginning of the myriad mountains in Anden. At the center of the lake is an island, a very large island, and on it is the city of Oke'Shan, major dwelling place of the Elves. It can only be reached by certain ferryboats, and the Elves control these, for they are VERY picky about visitors....
Now that we have traveled the continent of Lostarr, let us take a peek at the islands that dot the seas around Lostarr. The largest islands are Hindern Island and Nulthan Island. Hindern lies off the tip of Saarin, in the South, and Nulthan is set off the Western-most top of Norad, in the North.
Hindern is divided from Saarin by the Saarin Strip, as I explained before, but its climate is very unlike Saarin’s, dry and arid, except for the mountains that almost encircle it. Even though Hindern is close to Saarin, it is a tropical island, covered in jungles and humid air. Pirates and those of their ilk tend to gather here, and some have even established cities and trading posts, though there is no real government or law system, except that of ‘finders keepers, losers weepers’…
Nulthan is very different, since it is in the North, and its climate is cold, and not very hospitable. A few humans live there, but this is mainly a place for castaways, exiles, and hermits. A few mountains jut up from its center, and its shores are nonexistent, having cliffs instead. Not much is known about the first inhabitants of Nulthan, but they can’t have been very nice, if going by the lay of the land…
I have saved the worst for last, since this is the part that no one goes into and comes out of alive, except evil. There is another part of Lostarr, on the continent, way up in the North-Eastern corner, bordered by mountains on two sides and the cold Nor’Eor Sea. Basically that is where the Noradinian Sea and the Eorin Ocean meet, for there is no real partition, and no one ever sails those waters. This small piece of land is named Urkkland, for its first master, Urktharr, the heavenly creature who fell from the Light, and became the darkest creature ever to live, the Lord of Darkness. The Nadikan Mountains split at their Eastern end, trapping a small corner of land against the Nor’Eor Sea, or NorthEast Sea, in the common language. Urkkland is that piece that is separated from all the other parts of Lostarr, and only God knows what lies in it, but all evil has stemmed from there: Urks, Colls, Trolls, evil Giants, and Goblins and Gremlins of the worst kind all come from there…
And something else, something born of Light, twisted and malformed in many different ways to make Urks, but before the Urks there were the Second-Breeds, and before them…. The First-Breeds, the only ones to resist the Darkness and return to the Light of True Life, but forever forsaken by their former comrades……

(WHEW!!!! Sorry guys, hope you liked it, though!!!)

Quite good, Luinnar. Long, as you said, with lots of names, but very creative. I would like to know some of the stories of Lostarr....

You should write ur own books, like Tolkien did. This story here is a really good start! Its rich enough to be turned into books.
