Dear Journal,

Silence has there been these peaceful nights, and honored am I to be here were I am. It was insisted that I come to Minas Tirith, a city of beauty which I was honored indeed to enter, but honored more was I when the Lord Elessar himself requested my presence and shortly there after presented me with a blade newly wrought, as they had rediscovered the skill of old, when blades were light yet strong beyond compare. Never shall I feel that I have been worthy of such that I had been presented with.

I was guest to Aemornion and his family, but unworthy was I to sit and have them wait on me, for I am not accustomed to remaining idle. The smiles passed to and fro, the laughs heard, and the glances given shall forever remain with me, ever more to dwell as a memory to smile back upon with fond remembrance, where friendship was strengthened and a new bond held.

Dear Journal,

Fear, striking to the very core and shaking the very foundations of one’s strength, was recently brought upon me in the form of a messenger of Rivendell, while I was walking along side Aemornion in the fair streets of Minas Tirith one evening. It was told to us that my brother, who had claimed to have averted from his dark ways returned to Rivendell, but in ill shape, as he brought with him a swift and cruel disease, which he soon perished from, despite the best efforts of the healers and the elder. The disease then began to spread, first to a half-elven assistant, then to others with fearful swiftness. Ilemar, the messenger, also informed us that the illness affected only the mortal and half-elven, being to their knowledge highly incurable, though a few had been strong enough to survive, supported by the herbs and care given by the full-elven healers, while many others had passed on from the sickness. The elder had no knowledge of the illness, for it had no effect on those who were entirely of elvish lineage. As my fears grew, it was revealed, as I suspected as he spoke, that Sagen had fallen ill. The illness was said to begin with a throbbing pain within one’s head, then pain would course through the whole body, as well as fever, until unconsciousness came, though the fever would rage on.

With fear and worry driving us, Aemornion led the way to the Houses of Healing within Minas Tirith, to seek an answer to the illness, since the knowledge of mortal illnesses would dwell there more so than it would have among the elder of Rivendell. A suggested answer was found in two forms; the Silver Plague and the Blue Breath, the first incurable, the second treatable with the extracted and combined liquids of fresh Athelas and Silvergrass leaves. It was our hope, from the very depths of our heart and spirit, that the second was the true answer, and with hope to keep us standing, and fear driving us forward, we started that very night, a journey which would tax our strength and spirit and that of the steeds we rode. Ilemar rode before us, to take the newly gained knowledge first, and to also seek out the herbs that would possibly save so many.

When we did arrive, we were greeted by Lord Nuyn, an elder healer, who guided us to where they had Sagen under close watch and care of the healers, along beside several of those who had also fallen ill. Ilemar had arrived beforehand, only to leave again in search of the herbs, the words he had brought with him raising hope among the elves and healers of Rivendell. I sat by Sagen’s side, nearly broken to see the silent fever, his face so pale and weary, my only strength within those moments in the form of my dear companion, Aemornion.

Ilemar had been delayed when his horse fell and he was thrown, thus having to tread the remaining distance, but he had managed to gather enough of the life saving herbs for Lord Nuyn to dose all those who had been more critically affected by the illness, as well as Sagen, though worry was still held upon heart and mind, as it was wondered if the treatment would work. There were no herbs left that had been brought, yet there were still those ill who needed them desperately, so Rotherf, the elf who had been under my training for years, and had also cared for Sagen when I could not, was sent forth to seek again the precious herbs.

Yet fear assaulted again my strength, as the illness took hold of Aemornion. I felt I was helpless against the illness that now held the lives of the two I kept close to my heart in care and worry, and I could merely be there by their sides, speaking prayers endlessly, while the tears of fear and worry continued in an endless flow. The day wore on to night, and still I remained by those I held dear, and hope welled within me at last, when I could see color again brushing the cheeks of my son, the herbs taking affect as he began a more peaceful sleep, free from the fever and the dreams. Still I stayed by Aemornion’s side, until weariness took me, and I rested my head down for a mere moment’s rest, but sleep took me, beyond troubled dreams, to a deep slumber where all that dwelt was silence, hope, and peace...

(To be continued... muwahaha! I have the longest bio for sure now! *does the dance of joy then stops, going a bit shifty eyed while getting crazy looks from other people* *sheepish grin* *scurries away*)

...A blessing it was that he lived through it, but even more so was it a miracle that Aemornion recovered afore the rising of the sun. Rotherf finally returned after a delay, with the herbs so desperately needed, having had to seek the Silvergrass in a farther region, due to a late frost that had damaged and killed off what grew in the near lands. The treatment was given to the remaining ill, and recovery came upon many, though slow, but the illness had been conquered.

It is amazing how such events in life, even if fearsome and disastrous, can bring two people so much closer together. Valar knows how I’ve waited for such a day, where I would find my true peace and happiness, where I would dwell safe in the arms of someone I trust my heart to entirely, knowing that this indeed is where I truly belong... There is only so much one can say in order to attempt to explain the feeling that dwells within when you give your heart entirely to another, and I do believe I am sorely failing in my own attempt, but it matters not, for the truth remains... I have given nearly all I have, received more than I deserve, and to that I am entirely grateful. My dearest Aemornion, my heart, my soul, shall forever be true to you...

Your writing is pleasant like a smooth and gentle summer breeze dancing freely here and there though always encircling the topic. Yet your words are powerful in the magic they create lifting the story to the sky on strong wings of imagination. Your talent is that of a painter uncovering her work in all its colors, a guide taking the traveller on a journey to the land of despair, to catch a glimpse of sorrow or true happiness on the winding path. And now leaving the weary traveller by the burning fire, safe for the moment, for rest and recovering.

And not to forget I like your matching banner and avatar a lot - nice work!
