[*slaps hand for missing out on so much* Guess there's not much saving for me to do then... Darrell took care of it, being quite the gentleman again. ]

Larael knelt next to Luthien over the unconscience Gwen who was lying on the shore. She has be okay, Larael thought frantically waiting for Gwen's eyes to open and for her to say something along the lines of "I'm fine." Neither thing came as Luthien tried her hardest to wake Gwenneth up. They could be out there for hours before Gwen finally awoke. But what if she didn't awaken... Larael banished the thought.

[Well, actually, I was thinking my lungs were still full of water...so I wasn't breathing. Kind of like Elizabeth Swann, except I don't think I'm wearing a corset. ]

[I think all our forces are spent. I've got a broken ankle, made worse by the watcher But you could get caught again. We would do our best to save you though ]


Darrell struggled slowly back towards the shore, his sword still in his hand. The watcher seemed to have disappeared. he hoped they had driven it off. His ankle was extremely painful, even more than it had been at any point until now.

He dragged himself ashore, and up towards where Gwen was lying. "Is she ok?" He asked, sounding worried. He glanced down, but he couldn't see any rise and fall that would determine that she was breathing. Sounding slightly panicked he said "She's not breathing..."

Melda, pleasantly surprised that she'd made it to shore without further mishap, shivered in her wet clothes and hurried over to where Gwen was lying. "She's not wearing a corset, is she?" she commented, a little irrelevently, and then flushed. "Um, I guess not - come on, somebody here must have taken CPR!"

"My mum is a nurse, she showed my how to do CPR. I was hoping Gwen would wake up on her own but..." Her sentence was easy enough for the others to finish. Swallowing hard, Luth positioned herself on Gwen's right side and began CPR, as best she could. All the while she prayed that Gwen would awaken quickly, because Luth knew that she would quickly tire, and there was probably no one to continue after she stopped.

Gwen's eyes snapped open. In a single moment she was awake, and aware of, once again, the strangling feeling of not being able to find breath. Her head came up as she coughed furiously and involuntarily, lifting the water from her lungs. Finally, the ringing in her ears stopped, and her face felt cool again. Taking deep breaths, she clasped her shaking hands together, and attempted to stand before her knees buckled.
"Maybe I should just rest for a sec," she said jerkily.

[Ugh, sorry that post was so bad. Just imagine Elizabeth, again. ]

Gwen jerked back to life, coughing up water. Larael breathed a sigh of relief. She had nearly thought the worst, but thanks to Luth's wonderful CPR skills she had survived.
Even though they were all safe on land, Larael still felt uneasy about the watcher in the water. As Gwen rested, she watched the ripples on the water out of the corner of her eye. They weren't getting any closer to the shore, but they weren't getting farther away either.
She didn't know what they'd do if another one of them got dragged in again. She had a bow of course, but whats the use of that.

[Oh right. Duh. *slaps face*]

Melda, never one to beat around the bush, stood up, still shivering against the wind on her soaking wet clothes, which got swiftly colder as the day progressed. "Let's go," she said, one uneasy eye on the lake. "We obviously can't stay..." even as she said it she cast a longing glance at the mirrorlike ithildin, and tore her eyes away.

Darrell spoke quietly to Gwen, "Take your time. There is no need to force yourself to move or gwt up until you feel ready to. There is no rush"

With that he turned his attentions to his ankle. The t-shirt he had been using to support it had come loose, and was hanging off uselessly. It was quickly obvious though, that it would take more than a t-shirt to make his ankle useable again. It had been in a mess before the Watcher had got hold of it, and now it wasn't even that good. Suprisingly he felt little pain, just a dull, numb throbbing.

"Sorry to break this to you guys, but I've got a bit of a problem here. No matter how fast we want to get to Rohan, I'm not going anywhere very fast on this..." he looked mournfully down at his foot, and winced, the pain was beginning to get through to his brain, and it wasn't nice.

[maybe a chance meeting with some Rangers or a travelling party of Elves is in order at some point in the not too distant future. If for no other purpose than to have some 'medical' assistance ]
