Megan heard her name being shouted and then looked over her shoulder, seeing Legolas there. She smiled a little to him and nodded, sighing a bit. "I'm sorry... I just needed some water..." She said softly and looked into his eyes for a few moments.

She looked back down into the water and looked over her scar. She smiled and ran her finger over it. She then cupped her hands and got some water, bringing them to her lips to drink. She then looked to him again and stood up. "I'm sorry..." She repeated.

-----------

Frodo heard what Arabella said to him and gasped, widening his eyes in fear of what he had just heard. "He spoke to you too?!" He whispered to her, feeling and looking completely mortified. He took a deep breath and looked over her face, worried for her. He didn't know what to do. First, Amara and now her.

The one he cared for.

Frodo's gasp of shock went through Allison like a knife, but she didn't regret telling him. She couldn't keep something like that hidden away, or it could destroy her. They had far too many secrets already, too many stories to get mixed up.

She nodded miserably. "Yes," she whispered. "Not for very long. He didn't even say my name...I'm not sure he knows it." Yet, in her heart, she knew that he did. "He just said..." she shuddered. "That he could see me."

"I'm going to tell Aragorn that I saw him," she continued, looking at Frodo. "But...I just...I thought I should tell you first." One hand reached up to clasp her necklace, as if she was taking strength from the small gem. "What am I going to do?" she whispered.

------------

"Why do you always feel like you have to apologize to me?" Legolas asked, coming to sit beside Amara as she drank from the stream. His expression was equal parts confusion and curiosity. "You don't. Do I frighten you in some way? Is that it? Why are you always so...on edge around me?"

Megan swallowed hard as Legolas asked her the different questions. "I... I don't know if I can tell you... It might not be something you want to hear..." She said softly to him and looked into his eyes fr a fee moments. She tool a shaky breath and then looked down to the water again, not knowing what to do in this situation. She was nervous.

She didn't want to ruin their friendship and could tell that he wasn't fully into her, so it was probably safe for her to keep her feelings for him a secret.

--------

Frodo sighed deeply and ran his fingers through his hair. "Well, I want you to be safe. You must tell Gandalf and Aragorn as soon as possible." He said softly and looked into her eyes. It was apparent that he was highly protective of her, but he didn't care if she noticed. He wanted her to know that he cared.

Brushing some hair out of her face, looking into Arabella's eyes. "Go. I will stay here and await your return." He said to her softly, with a smile.

She couldn't breathe. She couldn't breathe with him looking at her like that. It was impossible to think, to do anything with those eyes on hers. Allison had always prided herself on not losing her head when she liked a boy, but this was different. That was the mundane crushes of high school life who never gave her a second glance, back in the real world. This was mortal danger and excitement and adrenaline and someone who actually saw her for once. This was Frodo.

But he was right, she had to tell Gandalf and Aragorn. This was bigger than just the two of them, more than she and Frodo could even begin to imagine. She didn't want to leave his side, safe and warm and protected as she felt, but it had to be done.

She felt her lungs constrict as he brushed strands of her long hair out of her face, and in different circumstances, she wondered if he might have kissed her. But now wasn't the time for daydreaming. She smiled at him before slowly standing up, holding onto his shoulder for support for a moment before she got her bearings and was able to walk. She hoped this dizziness, this drain of her energy, wouldn't last much longer.

Gandalf was closest, so she went to him first. His expression barely changed as she told him--almost as if he had been expecting her to say it. "We must be especially careful now," he said. "The Enemy is still searching for the Ring, of course, but something has drawn his attention to you and Amara as well."
Allison nodded, expecting him to impart some great wisdom to her, but he simply shook his head. "We must be careful," he repeated.

Suddenly, Allison was overcome with sadness, and she gave the wizard a tight hug before walking away, tears prickling her eyes. It was getting harder and harder the longer the journey went on, knowing what was coming next--and yet not knowing exactly when it was going to happen. She knew they would lose Gandalf soon, and every day she had to wake up and wonder if today would be the day.

Aragorn was not much more help, and she was exhausted when she finally trudged back to Frodo, feeling weary but glad that she had told them. It would be worth it in the end. They might have the answers that she could not find--why did Sauron care about her and Megan?
---------------

What did she mean, it wasn't something he wanted to hear? What dreadful thing could Amara have to tell him? Perhaps he had been right--perhaps he had offended her in some way that he hadn't realized. Females could be so tricky to figure out sometimes!Legolas looked away, feeling troubled. "Whatever I have done to hurt you, I can assure you it wasn't intentional. I am sorry." He looked at her once before his eyes darted away. "Perhaps we should head back to camp, but if you really want to be alone..."

Megan shook her head to what Legolas said and swallowed hard. "I have feelings for you! Okay?" She exclaimed and then cover her mouth quickly, with her eyes wide. She swallowed hard and stared at Legolas, feeling mortified that he know knew. She bit her lower lip hard and then shook her head; looking away and wrapping her arms around herself.

Her secret was out and he was fully aware of it. This was something that she hadn't wanted to happen. At least not yet. But, it did... She took a shaky breath and closed her eyes tightly, waiting for the rejecting to start from him.

--------

Frodo smiled kindly to Arabella and looked over her face a bit, before watching her leave for Gandalf. He smiled a little more and then got comfortable in her spot, before laying down. He closed his eyes to rest a bit more. He was exhausted.

She could see Frodo was asleep, or very nearly so, by the time she got back. Oh, Hobbits, she thought to herself, feeling slightly amused. Still, her confusion and fear and dread of losing Gandalf, who she had come to regard as like a father figure, pushed away the smile almost immediately. A single tear slipped down her cheek as she lay down, near to Frodo but not touching him. She wrapped her chilly body in her cloak and closed her eyes, but the silent tears kept coming. Tomorrow, she told herself. Tomorrow will be better.

-----------------

Legolas stared at Amara in disbelief after her outburst. From the way she clapped her hand over her mouth, he had a feeling that she hadn't meant to say it to him, but the words had flown out of their own accord. And now they hung there, suspended, betwen the two of them. She had feelings for him. What Estel had hinted at was true.

"A--Amara..." he whispered, stunned. "I...we..." What could he say to her? Now that she had spoken, the words he hadn't said longed to be spoken as well, but what of the consequences of that? He couldn't put the Fellowship in danger for the sake of the two of them--it was selfish. It was foolish. "We...it's too dangerous. We cannot..."

Something snapped within him then, sharp as a bowstring. He strode over to her, as if someone else was controlling his feet, because his head certainly wasn't anymore. Taking her face in his hands, he brought her close and kissed her fiercely.

(I tried to write this about ten different ways, and this is what Legolas insisted upon. Whether there are consequences or not, who knows! Now I'm off to my audition! Back after!)

Megan heard Legolas and knew that he was going to say that they couldn't be together. She had heard it too many times before. She shook her head and looked down to her feet, not seeing Legolas stride over to her then. She was taken by complete surprise when hr kissed her the way that he did. Or even kissed her at all. She wasn't sure what she was more surprised about.

Getting used to his lips being on hers, Amara slowly rested her hands on Legolas' chest and started kissing him back just as fiercely as he was kissing her. She slowly closed her eyes and just let her heart flutter all over the place, staying close to him.

She couldn't WAIT to tell Allison about this!

When Amara hesitated, Legolas almost pulled away from her, worried that he'd overstepped his bounds. If he had ruined everything for the two of them by being rash and impulsive, he would never forgive himself. But then something seemed to come alive within Amara as he she began to return his kiss. A thousand reasons why they shouldn't be doing this soared up within Legolas' mind, but he ignored each and every one of them.

He didn't pull away until he was breathless, opening his eyes slowly to meet Amara's. He rested his forehead against hers gently. "Amara," he whispered.

Megan kissed Legolas for as long as she could and ended up losing her breath at the same time he did. She swallowed hard as they both pulled away and then she rested her forehead against his, keeping her eyes closed for a bit. She heard him whisper her name and so she looked up into his eyes, breathing a bit heavily.

"Yes?" She whispered back and cuddled against him a bit. She hoped that he didn't regret what had just happened. She loved him so much that it hurt. She swallowed hard at the thought and then took a deep breath.

(Sorry it took me so long to respond. Writer's block and roommate issues. >.<)

Looking at Amara took his breath away once again. She was beautiful, yes, but a great deal of her beauty came from her strength. He had never met anyone with that much courage and determination--and she didn't even know she had it half the time. Legolas recalled the way she had claimed that she wouldn't be strong enough to help the Fellowship, that first day in Imladris. How things had changed. The way she was able to carry on in the midst of so many dangers. The way she had fought to save her friend's life, even when she was gravely wounded--it gave him strength just to see it.

How things had changed. That first night, he had regarded both females with suspicion, fearing them to be spies or worse. He had been reluctant to trust them and believe their story until Lord Elrond had stepped in. Now, he trusted both Arabella and Amara with his life. Arabella had become a trusted friend, and Amara...well, she had become something else entirely. Looking into her eyes now, he couldn't stop the words from spilling from his lips. He couldn't believe he hadn't said it sooner. He should have.

"I think I've fallen in love with you," he whispered to her. "I know I have."

(Haha! It's alright! I'm sorry that I took so long! I was driving home.)

Megan had thought back to her home in their time and really had no reason to go back. She was in love with the Prince of Mirkwood and after hearing him confess her feelings to her, she knew that she wasn't going back home ever again. She smiled widely to what he said and looked into his eyes deeply.

"I'm in love with you. I know that for a fact." She whispered softly and then smiled a little to him, gently caressing his cheek. She couldn't beleve that this was happening to her. She never thought that it would.

(It's totally fine. I'm doing math homework that I don't really know how to do. So really, I shouldn't be posting, but I will anyway, because it's more fun. XD)

Legolas grinned widely at Amara before kissing her again. For the moment, the growing Shadow didn't seem like such a threat--he could hardly imagine the concept of evil right now. He knew that when the magic of the night wore off, the fear and darkness and uncertainty would creep back in again, but this time it would be different. Now more than ever, he had someone to fight for. His heart belonged to her now.

"I can't promise you this will be easy," he said, pulling away and staring into her face. "It will be dangerous. The others may not understand, and we may be putting everything at risk. But I love you, Amara. I do. And if you will have me, then I am yours."

[Bahaha! I totally feel you. I've always hated math... With a passion. xD Btw... I RODE THE TEACUPS FOR YOU!]

Megan smiled widely to Legolas and then kissed him back softly again, giggling a bit against his lips. She kept their faces close and then looked more into his eyes. She heard all that he had spoken to her and then swallowed hard, nodding a bit to him. She heard the last part and smiled lovingly, resting her hand on the side of his neck. She didn't take her eyes off of him once. "I love you too, Legolas. And I promise you that my heart will be all yours, always. I want your heart and need it..." She said softly and kept their bodies close, not leaving any space between them.

Her heart and soul now belonged to Legolas and it would remain that way for the rest of their immortal lives. She couldn't stop looking into his gorgeous blue eyes and couldn't believe that he was all hers. She had been dreaming of this moment all of her human life and now that it was finally here? It made her really want to run and tell Allison. But, she wasn't going to right now. She would wait until a better time. She gently caressed his cheek and had a very happy smile on her face.

(Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I'll bet it was awesome! And did you wave to all the Disney characters walking around? I remember everyone was scared of Jafar except me and my brother!)

"Then it is yours," Legolas whispered. This all felt so surreal, every moment they spent together. It felt like something he had heard in a story long ago, not like something he was experiencing right now. Legolas had lived for thousands of years, and so had Amara. And yet they had met and fallen in love in a few short weeks. Was that even possible? All the old tales seemed to say so. He thought briefly of Frodo and Arabella, who seemed to be experiencing similar feelings. Still, they were mortal. For Elves, it was different, which made the whole situation that much more wonderous.

Her enthusiasm was contagious, and Legolas found himself laughing. "Strange, isn't it?" he asked, pulling her into an embrace. "That in the midst of all this turmoil and darkness, something like this can still occur. But I will be forever grateful that it did. My heart belongs to you, Amara, for as long as you will have it."

(I'm running out of cute and fluffy things to say! Feel free to continue from this point, but we could also do a time-skip of a couple of hours so I don't have to keep trying to come up with awesome things for him to say. XD I feel like he's becoming a bit of a broken record. Besides, she has to tell Allison, right? ;) )

[Haha of course, I did! I even saw Storm Troopers, Darth Maul and Darth Vader!!! And yes, we can skip a couple of hours.]

After a couple more minutes of lovey dovey time, Megan and Legolas returned from the woods, heading back to the small campsite of theirs. She was getting really tired and it was starting to show on her face, but there was also another emotion that showed in her eyes. It was love and only love for Legolas. No one else.

She looked over to Allison, smiling widely and hoped that she would be awake. She looked to Legolas temporarily and then rested her hand on his arm, smiling lovingly to him. "I'll be back..." She whispered softly and then nodded her head once to him, before heading over to Allison. She sat down beside her and held onto her hand with the biggest smile on her face. No one would be able to crack it at this point. "Alli... Alli... I've GOT to talk to you!" She whispered, shaking her friend a bit, excitedly. She didn't want to wake Frodo up from his sleep.

It might have been minutes, it might have been hours, Legolas wasn't sure. The concept of time for an Elf was always a bit tricky, and he was no longer paying attention. When they finally left the woods, arm in arm, he realized that the moon was far lower in the sky than it had been when they had entered. It was nearing dawn now. The entire night seemed a blur--the attack, Arabella's healing spell and the length of time it had taken her to recover, his time with Amara.

"I'll be waiting for you," he told Amara as she went away, presumably to talk to her friend again. He shook his head with a smile. Those two truly were inseparable.

The watch had changed, with Gimli and Mithrandir now scanning the surroundings. Legolas felt slightly guilty--ordinarily, he would have probably been chosen for the next watch instead of the Wizard, but he of course had been nowhere to be found. Boromir was sound asleep, but Aragorn sat up, smoking his pipe thoughtfully. "Am I to assume I was right, mellon nin?" he asked quietly, a knowing smile on his face.

Legolas could only nod.

------------

Allison always slept better after she cried. She wasn't sure why, but crying herself to sleep was sometimes the best thing she ever did. She assumed that crying simply took more effort than she thought. Add that to the fact that she was still drowsy and a little disoriented from the magic, and she was sound asleep.

Still, she wasn't out of it enough to miss out on hearing Megan's ecstatic voice in her ear. Allison stirred, opening her eyes slowly. "Five more minutes!" she whined, careful not to wake Frodo. "And it's Arabella, if you remember. What is it?"
