Deawen was at a loss, normaly at home she would have an easy time of finding someone, after all there was only so many places one could be. But here every thing was bigger. "Lets start with up!" she said pointing toward the sloping street.

"Hey! You there!"
Taevi turned around to see one of the guards at the door coming towards him. He froze like a frightened dear.
"You can't be hear. What are you doing?" The guardsman grabbed Taevi's arm. The halfblood wriggled, trying to get free of his grip as he panicked.
"Nononono!" Taevi panted as the guard took him towards the door.
"Take him to see the king," the second guard said.

Valya swiftly walked up the sloping street with Deawen, a sinking feeling in her stomach. She knew where this street led. "He can't go there," she muttered. She set off in a run towards the courtyard where the white tree sat in it's splendour, the tree of the king.
She saw a guard take Taevi by the arm into the great hall. "Deawen! Deawen, they're taking him inside!" she gasped. She walked hurriedly towards the doors, calling out after the guard. "He's a patient of mine! He was lost!"

It was too late, though. The door slammed shut as the guards disappeared inside with Taevi in tow, leaving her unheard in the courtyard.

(Do you mind if I sneak Maeth inside? If not I'll just change my post later)
Maethoriel easily hurtled the wall of the gardens landing on the other side with bent knees. As she stood up straight her cane seemed to appear from out of the blue and was clutched in her ungloved hands. And she twirled a silver circulet that she oft used when gaining access to the residences of dignitaries.
Although the woman did not maintain the stereotype of a female dignitary - she was neither tall, lovely nor small and delicate- she did have a commanding air with her straight backed walk, scarred brow and sharp eyes. These compounded with old stories often helped her when she decided to meddle in political affairs.
She laughed to herself as she noticed the large guard drag the boy inside leaving the door relatively wide. Taking the given chance she slipped in behind him, but not before giving the other women a wink.
Grair muttered under his breath angrily as he followed the women after his friend and the lost patient. "I got one thing right, she jumped the wall," he said breathlessly, standing near the two healers.

Deawen gave Valya a withering glance. " Don't worry I know of another entrance." Deawen said moving away from the grand entrance. "If we can atleast see what's going on it will be for the best!" Deawen said as they reached the door. A smaller door set off to the side, she opened the door cautiously, the corridor was empty but every sound was magnified. "this way" Deawen whispered heading towards the throne room. A million thoughts went through her mind as she went through the corridor. Deawen was prepared to use her status as nobility to find Taevi but hoped it wouldn't come to that.

Valya watched as Maethoriel sneaked in behind Taevi and the guards, not knowing whether to admire or condemn the woman's boldness. She looked at Grair in amazement, before turning her head, hearing Deawen's voice.
She returned Deawen's glance with a smile, not caring or wanting to get into any unnecessary bother. She followed the younger girl. "Deawen! What if we were to get caught? You don't want to risk your, and my, position in the court, do you? You may have noble connections in Rohan to fall back on, but I don't!" she hissed, wanting to keep quiet. Above all, she was anxious to keep her job, which she treasured so dearly. But she also wanted to find Taevi, and make it clear to those who had taken him into the hall that he was no harm.

"Lady Valya," Deawen began in exangeratted fomality, " You are simply doing your job no one can fault you for caring about your ward..." Deawen explained walking in a dignified manner. " Sides I have connections not only to help me, but as my friend to also help you."

[ Sorry, my internet was alot of trouble this weekend but I'll post as soon as I can. I was a bit confused at why the guards are taking Taevi to the king. Just to get him into the scene there? ]
Aragorn frowned at the Ranger, silently musing about his words. His eyes shone brightly and his full focus was fixed on Dûrion. He knew where the man alluded to but could not believe it. He remained silent; he knew his friend and his riddles: he would explain himself sooner or later.
---
Dûrion silently sipped from his win and felt the liquid warm his limbs. Life at the royal court, he thought, did have some advantages. He watched the King who had to be aware of what he was speaking. Although he had been quite young at the time he still remembered every detail of his travels with the Grey Company. The passage through Dwimorberg, the battle of Pelennor Fields and eventually the march to the Black Gate..
"I first came to suspect something more than a year ago when I crossed the Shire on one of my travels. There were persisting rumours of an increasing Shadow from the North." Dûrion's eyes glanced at the maps on the table, then back at Aragorn and Leuwynn. "But you know Halflings" he continued with a slight grin. "and their passion for stories. So I let things be but remained alert. Only a short while later I met one of the Elves from the Wood of the Greenleaves who told me a similar story. I decided to travel North myself to discover the truth and so I did." The ranger hesitated for a moment as if he was not sure how to express himself while shaking his head. "Telcontar, I've seen it. Grounds larger than the works of Saruman in Isengard. Far North from the Misty Mountains near Mount Gundabad. I've seen Hobbits and Elves who've been taken by them... This evil is not wielded by Orcs or any other kind of creature, but by Humans.."
Dûrion's words seemed to loom in the air like something dark. The atmosphere in the Hall had changed although only those close had heard the complete story. Yet all felt that something had changed..
[Just so that you know, Dûrion is a Dunadan. And if someone else likes to have Aragorn reply to Dûrion, be my guest ]

"I suppose so," Valya said slowly. She smiled at Deawen. "Alright then, I am sorry for worrying, but I have trained for this job since I was a child." She followed her down the corridor, thinking. "What will we do once we reach the throne room? We cannot just walk in."

The guards to the King's rooms were infinitely easier to dispose of then she had expected. They lay on the walls, with twin bruises on their temples where the butt of her knife had knocked them both unconcious. They were alive, but she did not expect they would be very happy with the headaches they would both have when they awoke. She had been tempted to follow Taevi and his captors, but the grand doors of the King's hall called her and her curiosity got the better of her once more.
Spinning the knife once more in her hand she then placed it back in its holster. She pushed open the doors and strode in as if she were expected. The half-elf grinned wolfishly at the two men seated in the room.
She raised her hand in greeting and revealed her hand branded with Eye of Mordor that always seemed to have just been done as it remained an angry red. The woman often joked that she had sold her soul to the devil so that she could live again - it was not so far from the truth.
"Estel," she said leaning forward onto her cane casually. "How fare you, child?" She questioned in a friendly tone that conflicted with the stern expression that remained fixed on her face.

[ I'm not sure whether Aragorn is going to react to Dûrion first.. perhaps Sojo might want to play him.. so I'm going to wait ]

(( I'm back. Sure thing, yes yes. ))
A hint of visible shock lit up in the king's eyes.
"Taken?" Aragorn leaned forward in his chair with interest, one elbow resting on the table, his brow stitched. "For what purpose?" He got no further with his inquiry, however, as the front doors suddenly slammed open and the half-blood woman waltzed in. A look of searching recognition owned Aragorn's face for a split second before he suddenly rose from his chair.
"Maethoriel?" he said in disbelief.

Dûrion was about to reply but his words were overruled by a loud noise. The doors of the Hall were thrown open and a woman entered. When she appraoched far enough he realised he'd seen her before; the Elf was one of that odd company whom he'd noticed in the Houses of Healing.
Quite irritated at the rudeness of the woman, who'd captured Aragorn's attention, he cooly called out: "They say it's improper to blast through a door without even knocking. I'm not sure why though.."
