Rhavaniel slipped out cautiously behind her and shut the tavern door with a dull thump. Silently she followed, the fog making her seem unnatruall and warped her serene appearance to that of some kind of ghost.
Ignoring this she placed a hand on Tur's shoulder and smiled "Everything in order?"

Tur smiled at Rhavaniel, one of her most trusted and wisest compainions. "I don't think so...there looks to be something over there..." She said, pointing, but then a loud war cry was heard behind them.

Rhavaniels eyes flashed sideways and she stepped back into the shadows, drawing her bow with inhuman speed and notching a sharp pointed arrow.

Lirael leaped up with a cry and bolted out the door. As she ran, she pulled out her sword. Thank goodness I keep my sword with me. she thought. The fog cleared slightly showing her the two girls and a large shape. She rammed her sword into it but it swept her into the other two and grabbed her. She started trying to free herself.

Tur swung her two twin swords quickly at the figure, but then something green pulled her feet from beneath her and suddenly she was getting intangled with green vines and they where wrapping around her body, but she had no idea where they where coming from. She desprately hacked at them, but more and more came to attack her. The others where in just as bad of a mess.

(I am SOOO Sorry, that I haven't been on. I have had too much school work. What's going on? One moment everyone is in a pub, and the next people are fighting?)

Lirael thought of her parents and started to fight harder than ever. She hacked at every branch that she could reach. All of a sudden, the being let her go. Lira ran to help the others. She spread her fighting spirit to them and soon they too were free. They came together to face the being.

Turwaithiel was knocked to the ground and she stood quickly, picking up her swords and getting into a defensive mode as blood dripped down the left side of her face.

"Are you hurt?" he asked quickly.

"When am I not?" She muttered and then stood. "No, I will be fine. What was that?"

Gandalf looked over to where the being once was. "I am afraid that I do not know what it was."
he eyes moved swiftly over the ground. "and I fear that something may happen to another, however it will be much fouler then what has happened to you."

Lirael looked up at the creature shakily. A memory suddenly struck her. Her aunt, uncle, and cousins had been killed by a creature just like this. Her face hardened and she struck out smoothly. The creature grabbed her around her neck. Lira struggled to breathe. "Gandalf..." she finally said in a whisper. She went limp and the creature let go of her. When she landed, her sword cut a line from her right hip to her left shoulder. She struggled to get up even though her breathing was ragged and she was bleeding. The thought of her parents kept her going.
