"Le melon.." she could not say it enough, could not get enough of him, she loved him unconditionally.

"Le melon, My Niko, Husband." she got out before it took her. As it took her, she held his head to her chest as he kissed above her heart, and she reached up, picking him up slightly to feel the beat of his heart. To feel the life of the one she loved.

He smiled as he looked down on her and heard her words. Moving off her, he put his clothes back on.
Slowly, he took out the stake from the box, and twirled it around in his hands. He would be wagering his life on this tonight, knowing the chances of his survival were slim. Backing down and giving Nienna up was not an option for him, it never would be.

She went up behind him and put her arms around his shoulders, tears still falling as she looked at the stake. She laid her cheek on his shoulder, her face buried in his neck, and her black silky hair flowed down over his arm and chest, laying in his lap. She kissed his neck. "I won't let him take me."

''He shall not'' he said quietly.
His thoughts were on the night before. He had been thrown around as if he weighed nothing. Had Dante's main intent been to kill him he couldn't help but think he may have succeeded. He examined the stake in his hands, this was the one thing that stood between Dante and his goal. Niko's secret weapon.

She took a shuddering breath, hearing his words. Yet, what if something happened? She hugged him tighter as the thought hit her. She knew she could not live without him. All her hope would be gone if he died. She could feel her heart thudding against him in fear.

Feeling her fear he set the stake down and turned to her. Sunset was now merely an hour or two away.
''Promise me, should anything happen, do not exchange your life for mine.That would bring me greater pain than death.
Though nothing will happen. Tomorrow we shall get up and take our trip to the sea.''
He smiled at her, hoping to take her fear away.

He cupped her face gently in his hands.
''I am going nowhere.It shall take more than that to get me to leave you. Do not be sad, we are together, angel''

(I'm toying with the idea of him becoming a vampyr, like a 'good' one, without killing the innocent and all, if the only way to save his life was to give him Dante's blood and all. Then he could get himself a daylight ring and all. As she is a half elf it would make sense she would have long life, if not immortality, so they'd kind of be equal. It's very Vampire Diaries, I know but I just wondered what you thought')

''To think, my love of ale saved us last night'' he said with a laugh, remembering the bottle he used as a weapon.

The mood was lifting somewhat, in contrast with outside where the sun was beginning to set. It would not be long now.
Niko stood up and looked out of the window, silently watching the sunset.
