''Love, you have elven blood within you. We are immortal.'' He took her hands and kissed them.
''I am yours, if you still will have me'' He knew she was perfectly within her rights to leave him. But he knew he couldn't do without her.

She shook her head "I am not immortal. I am only half elven. The question is if you would still have me." she said quietly. She knew she would still have him. Yet she began to feel the icy fingers of fear grab her. He would certainly want someone who could live with him eternally.

He paused. She was right, she wasn't immortal. Yet one day she could be.....
''Angel, you are my wife'' he said, slowly touching the necklace around her neck.
''That is eternal. I would have no other''

Her eyes moved slowly to his. "You mean that?" she whispered, looking at him. She was slightly frightened still. She didn't know what would happen now. Her hand reached for his as he touched her necklace.

''I would not have come back for anyone else'' he said softly.
He meant his words, twice he had died in her arms, and twice she had brought him back, for Niko, there was no other.

Tears formed in her eyes. "Le melon, no matter what..." she whispered and leaned back into his arms. She didn't know what would happen now, but she had her husband back. And that is all she cared about.

He smiled and nodded.
''Always'' He held her and then spoke.
''Would you like to see something?''
Before she could answer he picked her up and took her to the bottom of the stairs in less than a moment. Grinning at her he tossed her in the air, fairly high and close to the ceiling before catching her and racing back to their room. He sat on the bed and set her on his lap, grinning.

She gasped, and held onto him as he ran dizzyingly fast. He tossed her in the air, and she gasped again, and in the blink of an eye they were back in the room. "That...oh my...she breathed, her eyes wide.

Laughing at her reaction he spoke, his voice taking a more serious tone.
''Nothing shall even come close to harming you again'' he said, rocking her gently.
''Unless I throw you and you hit the ceiling'' he said with a laugh.

She cuddled against him "I thought I had lost you..." she put her arms around him, sitting closer in his lap. "Don't ever do that to me again. Ever." she kissed his neck, then his jaw, then his cheek. She had thought she would never get to do this again.

''You should heed my words more often. I said I would not leave you, and here I am.'' He smiled and lay down on the bed, pulling her to rest atop him as he did occasionally.
''You may sleep if you wish, I daresay you have had a long day.'' He began to rub her back gently.

She closed her eyes, amazed that she had him back. She kissed the hollow at the base if his neck before reaching for the blankets and pulling them over both of them. Her eyes drifted close as she relaxed under his touch on her back.

He himself felt tired and he began to drift off to sleep as well. They were safe, and they were together, that was all he cared about, and that was all that mattered.

In her sleep she instinctively held him tighter, protectively. "I love you..." she murmured in her sleep. She did. Her dreams centered around him, and everything he was, everything he had done for her. For them so they could stay together.

As he fell asleep, he heard her words. Niko smiled, and kissed her gently, before laying back and letting sleep take him. He passed into a dreamless sleep, void of any discomfort.

She woke up sometime later, seeing Niko beneath her. She smiled and laid her head back down. So it was true about Vampyrs. She turned her head to look at his face. Would he need blood to survive? She didn't know. All the could do was take one step at a time.
