It was the first time anyone had even asked him, and here she was offering him consolation.
He inclined his head, grateful for her words.
A foreign emotion began to take over him.
"Will you sit with me?" He asked, not sure why he was asking her or what she would even say.

She looked up, surprised "If you want me to." she got up then went and sat next to him. She didn't know what to say, she she kept her eyes downcast. Her own thoughts were flying through her head at a fast speed.

He himself could find no words, so he pulled out his water and began to drink, thankful for the taste.
Looking at her he began to realise how different she looked from the ragged slave who was beaten mercilessly to what now sat beside him. She looked a lot happier in her dress, he was pleased.

She could feel his eyes on her, and she began looking for whatever he was looking at. Was there dirt on her? or something in her hair? She peeked up as she felt in her hair for any leaves or twigs. She tried to analyze where his gaze was going. "Do I have something on me?" she blinked at him, her green eyes looking quite round.

He looked at her and broke into laughter, the first time he had done so in a long time.
Shaking his head he spoke,
"No. I was merely noticing how different you looked. It is pleasing to see a smile on your face"

She looked at him, and started laughing too. "Oh! I see! Thank you." she smiled back at him before dropping her gaze again, shyness evident on her face. She had never been complimented before. "I suppose you would like some sleep. I can stay up and keep watch."

"I think you could use it more" he said politely.
"You will sleep better knowing you will not wake to a whip"
He offered her the water and looked up at the sky, avoiding her gaze.

She looked up at him. "No thank you." she studied his profile, wondering at him and his actions. "If you would rather sleep I really don't mind." she looked straight up at the moon, and it reflected in her eyes. "I fear I may not sleep anyway."

"Why would you find difficulty sleeping?"
He still looked away, taking in the sight of the moon far above them.

"Because it's too beautiful to sleep." she gazed at the moon as well. The feeling was strange, being out here, having no master any longer. It was wonderful.

He nodded at her words, his eyes still on the moon.
''It is a sight''
Feeling out of place again, he brought the water to his lips and drank pondering things.
Where would they go? Rohan was not an option as she didn't want to go there but would she not be safe there? As a princess? Her brother would surely be dealt with if she was recovered.
Crixus sat,thinking.

She fell silent too. She had no idea what to do or where to go. She had known he had asked her to go with him, but she couldn't shake the thought that he may go his own way sometime or another. She could probably get by. She laid her head back against thebtrunk of the tree, pondering everything.
"I like your name." she suddenly spoke, startling even herself with her statement.

He was startled at what she said.
''Thank you.'' he knew it was a short reply, and decided to elaborate slightly.
''It was the only thing I have kept. I must have been named by my parents, the name is all I bear from my heritage.''
He paused his eyes now on the floor, as if remembering.

"You're welcome..." she thought a minute "I wish for your sake that you had known more. I cannot even imagine..." she paused, then spoke up again "At least you do have your name. It is a gift, I believe, to have at least that." her voice faded out and she looked away, stunned by her forwardness to towards him.

He was confused as to why she was taking an interest in his life. He decided to take the conversation a step further.
''Why do you fear Rohan? You should seek your parents, while they are within reach''

Her jaw snapped closed. Of all questions, he had to ask that. "It is not fear that holds me back so much as a dislike forth life I would be forced to live there." she had already spent so many years as a captive, forced to do this and that, told what to do and ordered about. "In truth, you are just as much a prisoner in a palace as you are as a slave. Always trapped. Told how to dress, where to go, who to talk to, how to act, who to marry." she whispered.
