''Birth is in the past. It is the present that counts. Remember the present, peasant'' he said, laughing at the pun.
As she tried to move away again, he crossed his legs over her feet, keeping them in place. With his new found strength, he found he could hold her in place with next to no effort.
He continued and spoke, ''did you learn anything of this wizard apart from his location?''

"oooh you!" she reached out and slapped his arm playfully "Well, nothing more than that, other than that he can make the ring we need..." her voice trailed off as she thought about it.

''Well, that is the main thing. He can help'' He moved and released her feet and lay back, relaxing.
''Does that feel better?''
The sun was now up and he was keen to stay as far from it as possible.

"Aye." she moved closer to him, curling up against him and putting her arm across his middle. "You'll be safe in here,
Love." she was feeling quite content.

''Yes. Thank you'' he said, placing a kiss to her head before laying his head back, and immediately falling asleep. She would make sure he was safe, he knew.

"Welcome, love." she chuckled as he fell asleep. It was strangely quiet without the beating of his heart in her ear. But he was alive anyway. She sighed and kept an eye on the make-shift wall, and saw with satisfaction that it would hold up.

He slept soundly for a time, before waking. He spoke without opening his eyes.
''Do you not wish to get any sleep? I can keep watch while you sleep''

"Just what are we keeping watch for?" she asked lightly, but gave a big yawn right after she spoke. "We are no longer being chased." she caressed his face.

He paused an considered her words. She was right. It was new for them, not to sleep in shifts or be in constant fear of danger.
''You speak the truth, but all the same, sleep if you wish.'' Nightfall was not too far off, he hoped they'd reach the wizard at some point in the next day or two.

She nodded against his shoulder, then her eyes closed and she was asleep, a dreamless sleep that she was grateful for. She instinctively curled closer into him, seeking the warmth of her husband.

He sat with her, slowly waiting for nightfall. He brought out some ale and began to drink. As the time passed, his bottle grew emptier an before he knew it, it was nightfall.
He lay there patiently, waiting for her to wake.

She stretched and opened her eyes upon waking, looking at Niko with a smile. "Good evening, Imp" she used her favorite nickname for him, then stood and began gathering their things. "Think you are ready to go?" she smiled over her shoulder at him as she worked. It wouldn't be too much longer. She took their cloaks down, handing his to him before putting her own on.

''Good evening, peasant'', he said, replying in kind.
''Yes, I am ready'', he put on his cloak and gathered his things, he mounted his horse and they continued on.

She laughed "I certainly hope this wizard can really help..." she said, biting her lip in slight worry. She hoped he could, it would mean the world to her to have him be able to do everything he wanted.

''He shall. And if he doesn't, well, I shall find my first taste of blood at his expense'' he said with a laugh, only slightly serious.
They went on for some time, not encountering anyone else. As the time wore on Niko began to get slightly restless.
''How much further?''

First taste of blood. She had all but forgotten that. She glanced at him. "I think only a few more hours. There should be some caves on te coast line we can use until day is over so we may go seek out the Wizard."
