Legolas slowed his pace, looking deep into Amara's eyes. "Of course I do," he said softly. "I know that many of our people are leaving Middle-earth, venturing to Valinor, but in truth I have no desire to leave my homeland. I am not sure whether that makes me wise, or just a stubborn fool, but it is how I feel. But..." he trailed off for a moment. "I feel that a life in Middle-earth would be empty without you by my side. So if you wished to take the ship to Valinor, I would follow you. But if you wished to stay..."

His words were interrupted by Gimli's mishap with the horse, and Legolas shook his head. That Dwarf... He frowned slightly when he saw the look the Lady of Rohan gave Estel. "He should not encourage her affections..."

The next day dawned clear and bright, but a distant threat lay at the back of Legolas' mind. He scanned the horizon as they walked, staying close to Amara. It was far too quiet on the plains of Rohan today, but he noticed that the horses were restless all the same.

-------

Arabella listened with horror to Calio's story. It shocked her how similar and yet different their lives had been--both orphaned at such a young age, forced to go through life with only themselves to rely on. And yet, compared to the horrors the other girl had been forced to endure, Arabella's life and hardships were nothing at all. Somehow, she had been able to scrape by, wandering from place to place and by some miracle surviving all on her own. She began to see this unexpected addition to their company in a new light. How brave she must be, to endure all that and still be able to talk about it. Why had Sauron targeted her? Was there more to her family history than she thought, as the case had been with Arabella? Sauron had ordered Arabella's family killed because of their friendship with the elves...could Calio's past hold similar secrets?

"I'm so sorry," was all she could say. The tears flowed freely from her eyes again, and she brushed them away angrily. Be brave! she ordered herself, but she couldn't listen to her own words. She collapsed into Frodo's embrace and sobbed, but drew back quickly after he had spoken to her. A new determination was coursing through her. "I won't let that happen," she told him. "I won't let you fail. I promise you we'll get through this. All of us."

Arabella looked up in alarm as she heard footsteps coming their way. She grabbed Calio's arm lightly, trying not to hurt her when she only wanted to get the poor creature's attention. "They're coming," she whispered. "Go. Run. Don't let them see you. You've been through enough, you don't need them to capture you again. Go, while you can. We'll be all right." She gave the girl the strongest smile she could manage. "Go. Don't let them catch you."

Later on, they found themselves walking again, towards the ruined garrison of Osgiliath. The rangers had found it in their hearts to let the Hobbits walk unbound and unblindfolded this time, with the exception of Smeagol. "The girl was asking for you," Arabella whispered to the creature when she had the chance. "She'll be glad to hear you're all right, if we ever see her again."

Amara listened to what Legolas said to her and then looked over his face, smiling lovingly. "I would never leave your kingdom behind, when you want to be there. You will make a great King someday, melamin." She said softly to Legolas and then walked a little closer to him, holding his hand in her own. She knew that they were going to be inseparable for the rest of eternity.

Later that night, Amara stood watch while holding onto her bow; being overly cautious. She let her eyes scan over their surroundings, making sure that no one got hurt and that they weren't caught off-guard. She had a lot of people to protect, but she knew that she wasn't alone. Looking over to the side, she saw Legolas there and smiled lovingly before looking ahead. She sighed a bit, as the sun started to slowly set behind the vast amount of land before them. It was a beautiful sight, indeed.

Biting her lip, Amara started letting her mind wander to places that she didn't think she would wander to. I never thought of this before... What was my past like? I don't have any parents... No relatives at all. She thought to herself, swallowing heard and shaking her head slightly at the thought. She didn't know what had become of her family, but she was scared to know.

-------------

Frodo heard Arabella and her words of encouragement, which made him feel stronger about his past thinking. He nodded to her and kissed her cheek, before watching Calio disappear into the darkness right as the guards came. He took a deep breath and then slowly got up from his spot, feeling tired. He held onto Arabella's hand tightly and then started walking in front of the guards, knowing that it was time to move on.

After their long travel and arriving to their destination, Frodo surveyed the lands. Osgiliath was still under siege. And it proved true especially as Faramir and his company arrived, dodging arrows and falling rocks. He sighed deeply, trying to keep a weary eye open for their new friend Calio. But, alas, there was no sight of her to be seen. "Faramir, Orcs have taken the eastern shore. Their numbers are too great. By nightfall we’ll be overrun." Faramir's friend Madril spoke sadly. Frodo then suddenly seemed stricken. "Mr. Frodo!" Sam exclaimed to Frodo and Frodo continued staring off into space. "It’s calling to him, Sam. His eye is almost on me." He spoke softly, but in an eerie tone of voice. "Hold on, Mr. Frodo… You'll be alright..." Sam said reassuringly and put his hand on his best friend's shoulder. Frodo saw that Sam was speaking to him, but he heard nothing. His senses were overcome.

"Take them to my father. Tell him Faramir sends a mighty gift. A weapon that will change our fortunes in this war." Faramir said to his men and then Sam broke away as they were being led away. "Do you want to know what happened to Boromir? You want to know why your brother died? He tried to take the Ring from Frodo! After swearing an oath to protect him, he tried to kill him! The Ring drove your brother mad!" Sam screamed at Faramir, in anger and sadness. A random ranger then shouted out a warning. "Watch out!" Just then, a boulder crashed into a tower overhead and shattered it. Suddenly, Frodo’s eyes rolled up and he stared at Faramir strangely. "Mr. Frodo?" Sam asked, noticing the strange look that Frodo was giving Faramir as well. "They're here. They've come." Frodo spoke to them in a faraway voice. Faramir then looked up. "NAZGÛL!!" He yelled and then grabbed the three Hobbits and thrust them into a corner. "Stay here. Keep out of sight." He whispered to all three of them and then looked to his men. "Take cover!" He yelled.

(Dream, I didn't mean to somewhat control your character in that situation, but I just wanted the story to progress naturally... D: I'm gonna write this post and Arabella, you can write the next one. Dream, also, I will make sure to keep including your character; even if I don't know where she will be at this point in time.)

(You know what I'm excited about? Two words: WARG BATTLE. COMING SOON. Oh yes)

He had noticed that Amara seemed distant and far away tonight, but she wouldn't let on as to what was bothering her. Had his request to bring her to his homeland been too forward? No, she had seemed enthusiastic about that, hadn't she? Was she feeling the same nameless fear that gnawed at the corners of his mind this night? Or was it worry for her dear friends, so far away?

"What troubles you, my love?" he asked quietly. "You have barely spoken a word all evening."

----------

Arabella kept a sharp lookout for any signs of Calio, but it was too difficult to concentrate, due to her worry for Frodo and the confusion of the city. When Frodo began to speak of the Eye, she felt as though she could see it, too, and that terrified her. She took hold of his face, forcing him to look at her instead of the Ring. "It's all right," she whispered. "You'll be all right. I promise. Just please don't leave me."

Arabella watched as Sam tried to break free, shouting at Faramir. "Sam, don't!" she warned, but it was too late--the brave Hobbit was already speaking his mind. She saw the flicker of what looked like understanding come over Faramir's eyes, but that vanished when the Nazgul returned, the stuff of nightmares made reality. She let out a scream of terror as the fell beast shrieked and rushed to cover her ears. She stayed close to Frodo as Faramir bade the three Hobbits and Gollum to hide, not knowing what else to do. She thought of her friends, wondering what Aragorn would do in this situation, what Gandalf or Amara would say, what advice Arwen would give to her.

This was getting to be a bit too much for just Arabella alone. But for the sake of Frodo and Sam, she knew she had to be strong. For that was what Lord Elrond had told them, when she and Amara had first arrived in Rivendell. "Arabella and Amara are here for a sole purpose. To give strength to the Fellowship of the Ring, when they become too weak to try."

Amara stared ahead, before she heard Legolas' voice. He always had the ability to sneak up on her and have her not hear his footsteps. She looked over to him and then smiled a little to him, nodding once. "I just have a lot of things on my mind, melamin. Our friends, my past... The fate of the Ring of Power." She said softly and then sighed deeply, before looking down to her feet. She didn't know what she was going to do, if something happened to Legolas. It would be her fault, because she's supposed to protect them.

Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she looked back to Legolas and then rested her head against his muscular chest. She bit her lower lip and then closed her eyes tightly, trying hard to stay strong for him and the others. "This journey is a difficult one." She added softly.

----------------

Frodo walked slowly away from the safe corner. Gondorian Rangers were still running about, defending their stations. Sam looked over and saw Frodo, so his eyes widened. "What are you doing? Where are you going?!" He yelled. From then on, it felt like everything was going in slow motion for Frodo. He walked up some stairs and stood on a bridge. A Nazgûl on a Fell beast emerged in front of him. Frodo stared at the Nazgûl, fixated. Feeling the call of the Ring, he held it up. Faramir watched the unfolding tableau from below. As Frodo moved to put the Ring on his finger and the Nazgûl flew closer and closer, Sam ran up and knocked Frodo over. Faramir released an arrow and shot the Fell Beast. Frodo and Sam then rolled down the stairs. As they came to a stop at the bottom, Frodo held Sam in a death grip, yelling and pointing Sting at his throat, his eyes livid with madness and anger that someone would try to take the Ring away. Sam looked at Frodo with tears running down his face. "It’s me. It’s your Sam. Don’t you know your Sam?" He asked his best friend sadly.

The madness faded after a bit and recognition returned to Frodo’s eyes. He realised what he nearly did and was overcome. Stumbling backwards, he collapsed against a wall and Sting fell to the ground with a clang. Sam got up slowly. "I can't do this, Sam." Frodo said to Sam with despair evident in his voice. Sam then got up slowly. "I know. It’s all wrong. By rights we shouldn’t even be here. But we are." He said softly, standing and leaning against a wall, looking out into the distance. "It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because, how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t. They kept going because they were holding on to something." He ended his speech to his best friend and then sighed deeply.

Frodo looked over Sam's face and then looked over to Arabella, feeling his heart ache. He then looked over to Sam again. "What are we holding on to, Sam?" He asked softly, sounding like he was starting to lose hope. "There’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for." Sam ended.

From the corner of her eye, Arabella saw Frodo move away from them, and she tried to follow, to stop him, to do something. But somehow, her legs felt frozen, as if chained to the ground. The world seemed to spin around her, and she could not shake the feeling that something was watching her from far off, constant, menacing, and unblinking.

"Arabella," whispered a voice in her head. The voice of Sauron was back, after leaving her at peace for so long. She closed her eyes, tears spilling over instantly. Why? Why was he doing this to her? She didn't understand--it wasn't as if she felt herself tempted by the Ring! Was he trying to use her to get to Frodo? Leave me be! she cried out desperately in her head, seeing the Nazgul swoop overhead. I will never help you!

The torment continued for several more moments, but finally she felt the eye pass over her, and she relaxed, feeling strangely at peace. He was gone, for the moment, and she doubted he would be back any time soon. Racing over to where she knew Frodo and Sam to be, she arrived just in time to see Frodo move away from Sam and drop Sting to the ground. "No..." she whispered, horrified. She hurried to his side, silent tears streaming down her face as she fell to the ground beside him. You're stronger than this, I know it! she thought desperately. Please, for my sake, don't give up yet!

She and Frodo listened to Sam's speech in silence, feeling the wisdom in his words. When he had finished, Arabella's heart did indeed feel lighter, though she still wept. "And we're holding on to something else, too," she whispered, resting her hand on Frodo's cheek. "Each other." She tried to smile at him before moving her eyes to Sam, as well, to let him know that he was included in her words.

Arabella heard movement behind her, and she looked up to see Faramir approach them. She eyed him warily, surprised when he moved to kneel before the Hobbits to look Frodo in the eye. "I think at last, we understand one another, Frodo Baggins."

A slow smile came over Arabella's face at the Captain of Gondor's words, but it vanished immediately as another one of the guards said, "You know the laws of our country--the laws of your father. If you let them go, your life will be forfeit." Arabella clutched Frodo's hand, fearful once again. Would he still let them go?

-------

Legolas wrapped his arms around Amara, concern evident in his face. "They are difficult for us all, my love," he whispered. "But that does not mean we should give up hope. Have faith in the Hobbits, and in yourself...and in me."

[Arrrghhh how do you guys post so fassssttt???? :P :P lol And Amara, I really don't mind if you control my character somewhat at times, it's my fault for being so inactive anyway. :)]

Calio's breathing was steadily becoming harder as she ran to try and keep out of sight of the rangers. She was following behind her companions, drifting from shadow to shadow, trying not to be see. When they arrived at Osgiliath, she led away from the hidden path and took cover in a somewhat flooded tunnel, leading into what she believed her companions were going to go next, based on what she had heard before.

[In other words, she's hiding in the tunnel Frodo&Sam&Gollum all head into at the very end of TTT. :P I don't know how else to explain it.]

(Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay new person! Welcome, Harthad! I think for simplicity's sake, it might be easier if you joined up with the Rohan group currently traveling to Edoras--your character could make his first appearance before/during/just after the Warg attack, which is coming up--but it's really up to you....or we could see what Amara thinks. :) )

[WELCOME, HARTHAD! I'm glad that you could join us! :bye2:

I agree with Arabella. She's always on the same page with me, so pretty much whatever she says... I'll say. I'm making her co-moderator of this thread. xD <3 Anywho, you can be with Rohan, like she said and just be involved in the Warg battle or something. Anything that is easiest for you!!!]

Amara listened to the wise words of her dearest love. She nodded a bit to what Legolas had said and then looked up into his bright blue eyes, which made her smile a bit. She rested her hand on his cheek and then kissed him lightly on his lips. "I will ALWAYS have faith in you and the Hobbits. Just not me..." She whispered sadly. She was so unsure of herself and her past.

Hours passed and morning rose into the sky. Amara's watch had ended in the middle of the night, so once it did, she had gone over to where Legolas had been and laid down beside him; while being in his arms. She never slept well anymore, since she now had heightened senses. So, she was always on guard... Even when she didn't have to be. It was emotionally and physically draining for her. After eating breakfast and cleaning up everyone's belongings, they decided to move forward again.

Gamling and Hamá rode to the front of the rest of them, while Amara walked beside Legolas again. She looked over to the men and watched them as they passed. Háma's attention was suddenly diverted. "What is it? Háma?" Gamling asked his companion. Then, their horses started to become restless. Háma then looked around, cautiously. "I’m not sure." He said a little nervously. A warg scout appeared on a slope above and charged at them. The warg then jumped down and attacked Háma, killing him. Gamling's eyes widened, before he cried out, "Wargs!". Just as it started to turn on Gamling, Amara ran over and killed the warg with an arrow. She then drew her knife and killed the Orc.

-------------------------------

Faramir looked to the man that had spoken to him and then sighed, shaking his head. "Then it is forfeit. Release them." He said to him sternly. Sam suddenly shook the ranger’s hand from Frodo's shoulder. Frodo looked up at Faramir with gladness, before grabbing Arabella's hand and hurrying into the tunnel that Faramir had provided for them all.

After a while, the three of them walked through the woods, away from Osgiliath. "I wonder if we’ll ever be put into songs or tales, us three." Sam wondered, while looking around a bit. Frodo looked to him a bit curiously, while still holding onto Arabella's hand tightly. "What?" He asked. Sam looked back to Frodo and smiled a bit. "I wonder if people will ever say, ‘let’s hear about Frodo and the Ring.’ And they’ll say ‘yes, that’s one of my favorite stories. Frodo was really courageous, wasn’t he, dad?’ ‘Yes, my boy, the most famousest of Hobbits. And that’s saying alot.’" He said proudly, putting his attention ahead of the road again. Frodo smiled happily and then looked down a bit. "Huh, you left out two of the chief characters – Samwise the Brave and Arabella the Beautiful. I want to hear more about them." Frodo then turned to look at Arabella, with a bigger smile. "Frodo wouldn’t have got far without Arabella and Sam." He added lovingly. Sam made a face and then shook his head. "Now Mr. Frodo, you shouldn’t make fun. I was being serious." He said, almost punishingly.

Frodo smiled even more, if possible while staring ahead. "So was I." He said softly, before he continued to walk on.

(Insomnia time! yeah, don't mind me as I behave REEEEEEEEEEALLY obnoxiously and post two seconds after Amara... *blushes* I'm sorry I'm annoying!

And aww, Amara, thanks! We're always on the same page because great minds think alike. ;) And I'm honored that you would make me a co-moderator, even though I'm not sure what I would do as one! XD

Anyway, moving on. This next bit in the Frodo/Sam/Arabella/Calio story arc backtracks a bit and involves one of my favorite scenes in the TTT EE. Of course, I'm adding some stuff, too.)

Faramir led the Hobbits along through what seemed to be part of the River, the chilly water reaching their knees. "This is the old sewer," he explained, dragging Gollum along. "It runs right under the river, through to the edge of the city. You'll find cover in the woods there." Arabella nodded to him, for it was clear now that he did fear for their safety as they ventured ever closer to Mordor.

"Captain Faramir," Sam said suddenly. Arabella looked to him, curious. "You have shown your quality, sir. The very highest." Arabella gave a smile and nodded. She knew it must have taken much for the Captain of Gondor to agree to let them go on. Faramir smiled, looking amused but touched. "The Shire must truly be a great realm, Master Gamgee, where gardeners are held in high honor."

Arabella bit back a giggle, but tried to keep a straight face for Sam's sake. Faramir grew somber once more. "What road will you take once you reach the woods?" Frodo answered him, describing the road that Gollum had told them about. Immediately, Faramir's countenance changed, and he lunged for Gollum as the creature tried to get away. "Cirith Ungol?" He grabbed Gollum by the neck. Arabella jumped in alarm, almost darting forward to help, but common sense held her back.

"No....no!" Gollum tried to protest, but his resolve broke. "Yes!" he wailed. Faramir turned to Frodo, speaking to him. "They say a dark terror dwells in the passage above Minas Morgul," he warned. "You cannot go that way!"

"It is the only way!" Smeagol whined. Arabella held Frodo's hand tighter, growing more concerned by the moment. "Master says we must go to Mordor, and so, we must try!" Gollum whispered.

"We must," said Frodo and Arabella in unison.

Disgusted, Faramir threw Gollum to the ground, where he gasped for breath. "Go, Frodo," he said. "Go with the goodwill of all men."

Frodo thanked him, and they turned to go, but Arabella stopped them. "Hold on," she said, noticing a small bleeding gash on Faramir's upper arm, the fabric of his shirt torn away, something he had clearly not noticed before. It didn't look too deep or painful, but her healer instincts were kicking in, and she felt compelled to help him. "You're hurt." She motioned for him to kneel down so that she could reach him easily, the height difference between them being considerable. Gently, she laid her hand over the cut and healed it, before a wild terror seized her. What if this changed things? What if Faramir wouldn't let them go now? Or worse, what if he sent Sam and Frodo away and kept her? He hadn't known about her powers until now. What would he do with the knowledge that she could heal injuries? He could keep me here if he wanted to, she thought, panicked. Think of the good my powers could do for his cause--I could bring back even those who were on the brink of death and make them ready to fight again! He could use me in the war just as easily as he could use the Ring...

Faramir's eyes widened, and he was silent. For just one moment, Arabella imagined that the same thoughts were running through his head, but then he gave her a kind smile. "Thank you," he said. "Now go." Arabella slipped her hand into Frodo's again and the three Hobbits went on ahead. Faramir waited for a moment before grabbing Gollum once more, as soon as the Hobbits were out of sight. "May death find you quickly, if you bring them to harm."

Once in the tunnels beneath the river, Arabella caught sight of a shadow, and she froze. "Who's there?" she called, before realizing it was the girl from before. She tried to smile. "I'm glad to see that you're all right."

Later on, Arabella laughed along with Frodo and Sam as Sam wondered if they would ever be remembered as heroes of stories and songs. She blushed vividly at Frodo's compliment. "I'm not sure about beautiful...not right now, anyway!" She waved her hand to indicate her disheveled, travel-weary appearance. "In any case, I wonder what kind of tale we've ended up in, and how it will end...I mean really end, not just the ending that comes with destroying the Ring. I mean everything that comes after that. Because tales never really end when the quest is done, even if the stories like to pretend they do. Stories keep growing, changing. That's what I've always believed, anyway." She paused, smiling thoughtfully. "I think I would very much like to be put into a tale, wouldn't you? I hope we are."

------------

It all happened so fast. One moment it was calm, almost tranquil, and when it started to turn Legolas blamed himself for not being on guard. Now an innocent man was dead because everyone had been far too cautious. But there was no time to dwell on that now--not when hesitating could cause more blood to be spilled. He followed Amara as she did away with the Warg and its rider. "A scout!" he called to Estel, warning him of the danger. He watched as his friend rode back to warn the others. Then he ran up onto a nearby rock, watching the rest of the Wargs assemble. It was quite a group, and he wasn't sure that the Rohan refugees would be ready for such an assault on their people. Running into a battlel on their way to hide from another...what has King Theoden gotten his people into?

(Aaaaaaaaaand...sorry it's so long. This is the result of having no RPGs to respond to for a few days: pent-up muse! ;) )

Colin almost got trampled by the refugees all running away helter-skelter to escape the Warg attack. He got pushed to the side and fell, his crutches giving way beneath him. Not that they were much help, anyway. Just two big sticks he had found one time. Colin tried to stand up but got pushed down again by another person scrambling out of the way. He rolled onto his back, and that was when he saw it. A giant beast, disgusting amounts of foam dribbling out it's mouth. it bared its huge fangs, and the orc on its back smiled and raised its sword.

It was a Warg.

Calio caught Arabella's attempt to smile. An attempt. She sighed. She would never be truly accepted anywhere. She wasn't even one hundred percent sure what they were doing or why. She was just baggage, trailing along uncared for.
As the three discussed in tales, she trailed behind softly, feeling a wide emptiness opening up inside of her, threatening to engulf her forever.

[sorry for being so morbid in this post, but I'm in a sad mood and it felt good to write this. :) lol ]

Amara shot countless arrows at the enemy that seemed to just keep coming. She then looked over her shoulder quickly and saw that there was a young injured boy, about to be slain. So, she hurried over and sliced the Orc off of the back of the Warg. The Warg then reared its ugly head and hit her hard, sending her onto her back.

Laying down with the wind knocked out of her, she stared up at the ugly Warg with wide eyes. She was helpless at this point.

As Aragorn went up a bit to see what was going on, King Theoden looked over to him; hoping that he would send somewhat good news. "What is it? What do you see?" He asked the future King. Aragorn ran back to Theoden while panting a bit. "Wargs! We are under attack!" He yelled. In hearing the alarm, the villagers began to cry and panic. "Get them out of here!" Aragorn added. "All riders to the head of the column!" Theoden shouted. Gimli tried to mount Arod, his horse, quickly. "Come on, get me up here, I’m a rider! Argh!" He exclaimed in frustration. He finally got onto the horse with some help.

There were many warg-riders coming fast toward them all, kicking up dust trails as they went. King Theoden then looked to Éowyn, quickly. "You must lead the people to Helm’s Deep. And make haste!" He said nervously, hoping that she would listen to him. Their people needed help... And fast! Eowyn stared at him in disbelief. "I can fight!" She said, in her own defense. "No! You must do this... for me." Theoden fought back with her. Éowyn held Théoden’s gaze for a moment and then turned to attend to the villagers. Theoden finally looked back to his men and pointed onward with his sword. "Follow me! Yah!" He exclaimed and then started heading toward the battle. Gimli was now trying to get Arod to move from his spot. "Forward. I mean, charge forward! March forward!" He urged the horse. Arod then moved off with Gimli seated rather unsteadily. "That’s it! Go on!" Gimli continued, before hurrying to help his fellow comrades and Fellowship.

Eowyn made it to the villagers quickly and then gathered them up all together. "Make for the lower ground! Stick together!" She yelled to them, so she watched as they followed her instructions. She looked back at the Rohirrim and saw Aragorn on Hasufel. They held each other’s gaze for a moment, before Aragorn turned to join Théoden. Éowyn quickly departed with the villagers in the opposite direction.

---------------------

Sam listened to all that Arabella said and then smiled widely to her. He then sighed dreamily, before tilting his head to the side in thought. "Samwise the Brave." He mumbled to himself. He then gave his backpack a heave and followed Frodo, Arabella and Calio. Gollum was crouching a short distance away from them. Frodo noticed that he wasn't close by them and looked around curiously. "Sméagol!" He called out. He held onto Arabella's hand still and stayed close to her. Sam then rolled his eyes, as he noticed too that Gollum was gone. He had just about enough of that despicable creature. "We’re not gonna wait for you. Come on!" He yelled afterward and continued walking.

Gollum was left alone for a moment with only his thoughts and his other half. "Master... Master looks after us. Master wouldn’t hurt us." Smeagol said calmly to Gollum. "Master broke his promise." Gollum hissed angrily to the poor inner Hobbit. "Don’t ask Sméagol. Poor, poor Sméagol." He shot back, not wanting to get in trouble. "Master betrayed us! Wicked, tricksy, false. We ought to wring his filthy little neck." Gollum explained with pure hatred, before grabbed a branch of a nearby tree and twisting it with wicked eyes. "Kill him! Kill him! Kill them all. And then we take the precious and we be the master." Gollum added to his rant. Smeagol then scuttled and hid behind a tree. "The fat Hobbit, he knows. Eyes always watching." Smeagol said, nervously. "Then we stabs them out. Put out his eyeses. And make HIM crawl." Gollum spoke in a sinister voice. Smeagol bit on his finger and nodded eagerly to what his other half was planning. "Yes! Yes! Yes!" He said excitedly. "Kill them both." Gollum added. "Yes! ... No no! It's too risky, it's too risky." Smeagol said and then backed away against a tree. He then looked in the direction of the Hobbits.

Sam had stopped walking with Frodo and looked around, irritated. "Where’s he gone? Hey Gollum, where are you?" He yelled the last part out, so that the creature could hear him. Frodo sighed deeply and looked around some more. "Sméagol?" He called out again. "We could let HER do it." Gollum spoke softly and sinisterly to Smeagol. Smeagol nodded quickly and grinned a bit. "Yes. She could do it." He added in happiness. "Yes, precious she could. And then we takes it once they’re dead." Gollum added. "Once they’re dead…" Smeagol mumbled to himself. "Shh…" Gollum said to Smeagol softly. He then popped out from hiding in front of the Hobbits and human. "Come on. Long ways to go yet. Sméagol will show you the way." He said, as if he had been there the whole time. He turned to walk on, with Frodo, Sam, Arabella and Calio following behind him. "Follow me." He added softly to them.

He knew that just past the forest and Ephel Dúath would finally reveal the desolation of Mordor. To the left of the land, would be the glowing Eye of Sauron atop Barad-dûr, and to the right, the fiery Mount Doom. Three Fell Beasts were circling the dark skies at that moment, as lightning flashed. He remembered the place all too well.

(THAT'S THE END OF TWO TOWERS FOR THE HOBBITS, GOLLUM AND CALIO<3 Shall we move on? We're still in that section for Aragorn and comp.)

(As official co-moderator *flashes badge officially* I say we take a quick break from the storyline of Calio, Frodo, Sam, and Ari, UNLESS we can come up with some extra bits not featured in the film, because I don't want to start in on their RotK storyline until we're at least a bit farther along in TTT with the other characters. Does this sound agreeable to everyone?)

Legolas had jumped up onto the horse Gimli was attempting to ride in order to gain the same advantage that the orcs riding the Wargs had over them, but when he saw the Warg lunge for Amara after she saved that helpless Rohan boy, he jumped down again. Sprinting towards her, he drew his bow, focused only on keeping her safe. The boy, for now, seemed unharmed, though frozen in fear. The Warg stood over Amara, growling and snarling--it seemed that these foul beasts took great pleasure in taunting their prey with fear before going in for the kill. In this case, it was a blessing that their natures were so twisted, for it gave him the opportunity he needed. Legolas took aim and let the arrow fly, watching in satisfaction as it struck the creature in the neck. It let out a horrible howl and fell sideways to the earth, thankfully missing Amara as it landed.

"Amara!" he yelled, hurrying to her side. "Are you hurt?" he asked, watching her face for any sign of pain or injury. If only Arabella had not left us, he thought, thinking of how many injuried Rohirrim they would have to deal with once this bloodbath was over. We could use her skills.

His eyes fell on the boy, still on the ground and looking at them with wide eyes. "Go!" he cried. "Can you get up? Go to the others! You need to get out of here, it's far too dangerous. Stay with the others!" He glanced over, seeing the Lady Eowyn taking charge of leading the refugees while the King fought. "Seek out Lady Eowyn. She'll make sure you are safe."

Colin hurriedly nodded his head and grabbed one of his crutches that was lying nearby. Leaning on it, he stood up, still looking wide-eyed at everything. First wargs, and now elves! Of course, he had seen them at a distance before but never like this. Colin nodded again and limped off to meet the Lady Eowyn. She was on her horse now, and riding farther and farther away from him. He tried to hurry, but tripped over a rock and fell flat on his face. Soon the refugees were too far away, even when Colin had stumbled back to his feet. "Wait!" he yelled. "Wait, don't. . .go."
