"I find the picture of me having to waddle everywhere horrific." she sent him the mental image she had gotten, and wrinkled her nose.

He laughed at her thought.
''If it comes to it, I shall carry you everywhere, though I may not be strong enough. We may have to construct something'' he teased with a wink.

Her jaw dropped in mock indignation. "How dare you, sir!" she looked back at him with a glare, then sent Raven off into a gallop, leaving them in the dust.

He grinned, accepting her challenge. Urging his horse after her they moved quickly and soon caught up with them.
Niko grinned at her and called out.
''You'd better hurry, before you begin to weigh Raven down''

"I could just use the wind!" she called out, and spoke the elvish command that she had trained Raven to obey. Raven sped as she had that day when she showed Niko what her horse could do. Everything blurring by.

Niko grimaced as they flew by, deciding he would not follow. That, she would not be expecting.He would return the favor later.
He relaxed atop his horse and pulled out a bottle of ale and drank deeply.
''We shall rise above them'' he said to his horse, patting it gently.

She looked back, and laughed as she slowed Raven. "Have you given up, milord?" she called back as raven lifted her front feet off the ground, and kept doing so, prancing as she did it, eager to keep running.

Niko smirked and turned on the horse, resting his head on the horses neck as he lay drinking ale. His balance was near perfect thanks to his being a vampyre.
''Not given up, merely biding our time'' he said as he crossed his feet and took another sip.

"Show off," she grinned and was about to say something when an arrow whizzed by. She swore loudly as it grazed her shoulder, and she whirled Raven, trying to spot the assailant. Or assailants. More arrows began whizzing by. She swore again "Niko!" she called, and her cry was cut off as another arrow embedded in her upper arm.

Niko dropped his ale as he saw what was happening, he leapt of his horse and charged at the assailants, his eyes red and his fangs barred.

She watched, then called out "Niko! It's an army! Orcs! We need to defend Rivendell!" she cried out, hoping he heard her. She could see more in the distance, going straight for their beloved city. "Our people need us, Niko, now!" she screamed the last word as loud as she could, gritting her teeth against the grinding pain in her arm that the arrow created.

Niko ran and bit into the first orc he saw, creating a gushing rush of blood and spitting it to the floor.
He twisted the head off two more before he heard Nienna's words. Calling out to both horses in Elvish he bade them to flee into Rivendell. He scooped up Nienna and ran back to Rivendell, the speed of the orcs could not keep up with him.

She hid her face as the world rushed by as he ran. She reached down and tore the arrow from her arm, gritting her teeth together hard against the pain. "Look!" she cried out and pointed, the Orcs were working to get through and over the wall surrounding the elven fortress.

He rushed into Rivendell. It was clear some of the elves knew what was wrong.
''Go and hide yourself'' he pleaded with her, they could not lose another child.
He turned before she could reply and drew his swords and rushed towards the orcs.

She was suddenly angry "I will not hide myself! I am a queen that needs to help and protect her people!" she ran around the defenses, calling out sharp and sure orders in elvish. "Defend the gates! Send a volley!" could be heard from her in regular speech as well. She grabbed a sword a young elf had tossed to her, and she began fighting with all the fury she had in her. She had to defend her city, their city.

Niko was in a frenzy. Block, stab, slash, bite and dodge. That was all he could think of. He killed three orcs in quick succession, a blood lust taking over him. He dodged any stray arrows with ease. Where his swords failed him, his fangs and strength did not. He was in his element.
Turning he saw Nienna fighting, that only intensified his anger. He had told her not to follow.
