She slew orcs left and right, defending herself and her city well. Her eyes and mind only focused on the battle and defending everything dear to her. She sidestepped and blocked, attacked, swung, and killed. Her brain analyzing as she fought.

He killed all the orcs that stood in his path, his eyes burning red. He felt pain in his back and saw an orc's knife protruding from him. He ler out an evil grin and ripped the knife out before using it to stab it's owner and throw it at another passing orc.
Niko was in his element.

She kept fighting, feeling the sting of an orc's blade across her cheek. She growled, knowing she now bore another scar, the Orc was killed quickly, yet she still kept fighting, not being distracted, the pain not even present in her mind. Her eyes flashed gold as she shot fire from a nearby torch and incinerated a group of orcs.

Niko couldn't yet tell if they were defeating the orcs, but in his mind, he was winning. He was far superior and almost invincible. The pain in his back had disappeared and no doubt the wound had healed.
His eyes flashed as he felt something behind him and he dodged, narrowly avoiding a blade directed to his heart. He tore the orcs head off with a roar and tossed it to the fallen orcs comrades, scaring them.

She looked around, and noted with satisfaction that what was left of the orcs were retreating! She let out a roar of victory, raising her sword high. She looked around at the remaining orcs that were quickly disposed of by the elves. She walked through the piles of bodies of orcs and elves. She addressed the captain of the guard. "Burn the orcs, bury our kin." she continued to move through, trying to spot out the injured.

They were retreating! Niko's arms and some of his face were covered in the black blood of the orcs, he charged after those who fled, killing all who crossed his path. The feeling of invincibility took over him, he reveled in his new found power.

She stopped and watched Niko. She didn't likening look in his eyes, her own eyes narrowed as she knew is power was getting the better of him. She turned her attention back to the wounded, helping as much as she could. Nienna still had yet to remember the sting of the slash on her opposite cheek.

Niko disposed of what orcs he could find, before turning and leaving the rest to flee. He began walking back to Rivendell, he felt empowered. After all the fighting, he barely felt tired. His thoughts turned to Nienna. She should not have been fighting. He had told her not to, she could have risked hurting the child. He paused and decided against returning just yet, needing time to be on his own. Luckily for him he had a small bottle of ale he had in his pocket. He hopped up into a tree, stretching out and relaxing.

She helped as best as she could, then was whisked away to get her own wounds treated. They cleaned and bandaged the wounds on her face and arm. She went to the house and changed, slipping into a silky, light blue dress. Nienna sat at the table, looking out the window, her one arm rested on the table, her other on her belly. She crossed her legs comfortably, wondering wherever in the world Niko was.

Niko sat and watched the night for a time, before tossing the empty bottle of ale to the floor, he leapt off the tree and began to return home.
He entered the house, climbing into a far window, not wishing to see Nienna. He moved quietly and bathed himself, his eyes still flashing a little red.

She sat at the table for hours, waiting for his return, yet nothing. She frowned deeply. Why was generating away, she lit a candle, and retrieved ink, a quill, and parchment. She began to write, to document the events that had transpired that day. The count of the dead, the form of the attack. She kept writing, rubbing her eyes from time to time. Yet even as her eyes grew tired and began to feel gritty, she still wrote. As queen she would keep a detailed record of everything. As someone else had done, which was how she found out who she was.

Niko finished bathing and put on some clean clothes. What should he do now? His body still pulsed from the battle. He had slaughtered every orc he had seen, there was no feeling like it, annihilating all who opposed you.
Niko quickly moved up the stairs and sat on the roof, an odd feeling creeping over him as his eyes watched the skies.

She left the parchment on the table, blew out the candle and slowly moves up the stairs to her room. Empty. She sighed sadly, the power Niko had seemed like it was corrupting him. She changed into her nightgown and slipped under the covers, laying on her side. Why was he not back yet? Perhaps....she frowned as the thought crossed her mind. He was probably angry at her. She couldn't just stand by and watch! She had to help defend her people. Their people. She fell asleep with a troubled look on her face.

Niko sat there for a time, gazing at the stars and enjoying the moonlight.
He got up slowly, and lightly jumped down onto the balcony of their bedroom, Nienna was asleep. He sat down still and watched her for a time, his head tilting to the side, as if in thought.

She turned in her sleep, her hand instinctively going to protect her belly from something in her dreams. One hand lay on the pillow next to her head, which face the other way. She twitched in her sleep, murmuring something.

Niko watched her as she moved in her sleep, and his eyes followed her hand to her belly. Their child, she had endangered it. Yet did she not also have a right to? She was the queen after all, but how could that excuse it? After it had been lost those times, how could she risk it again?
He tugged his shirt open slightly and looked down to where the wizard had imprinted her name on the left side of his chest. She was his wife. Niko sat there for hours, deep in thought.
