Nostariel mulled over the question. She really did not want the company, but at the same time she did not want to be left alone with her thoughts of Ruscien.
"Do what you wish, I care not." Appaulled (sp?) by the words that she had just uttered, she back-pedled.
"Um, that is, uh, I do not mind if you want to stay or if you want to search for the others..."
Great, Nostariel, you took so many years of court etiquette and you still know how to put your foot into your mouth!

A small smile appeard on Evelyn's face. "Whatever would be of greater service to you." She replyed, inclining her head in a bow, as to silently acknowlege Nostariel's roality without calling her 'princess.' "I care not." she added, in a humerous tone, a michtevious light dancing in her eyes.

(I like canteloupe ^_^ Also, do you guys think it would be awsome to bring Ruscien back? =D like have him somehow not be dead, so have some evil magic at work bring him back? [zombie Ruscien!] Though maybe he still has a twisted evil nature about him, like some spell, which the others will discover over time. that way they could discover what is turning their allyes evil.)

Naerwen and I were wondering if there was perhaps a dark wizard somewhere- a Sauron/Saruman protege who could be involved and who's organizing orcs and 'stealing' elves to use as generals or the like... Rhavaniel's first husband disappeared, so then I could bring him back too )

"Naerwen, this is my twin, Sadron." Rhavaniel grinned.
Sadron stepped forward and took the elf's friend with a warm smile: "I do hope my family isn't smothering you."
His black-haired sister laughed and adjusted her hood as the wond swept around across the courtyard: "Of course we are. Morfindien is spinning his webs about her and I," she touched her breast and then gestured to the surrounding lands "I am being myself."
"Eru protect us then," Sadron laughed.

(Venessiel: Hmmmm...fascinating Sorry, I couldn't help but quote Spock. Seriously though, that's cool with me about Ruscien. BTW, another thing, I checked Ruscien's name and it means "fox" so being crafty is one of his character traits.

Nostariel laughed. She couldn't help herself, it burst forth like the sunshine after a rainstorm. Her heart was suddenly lighter than it had been since Ruscien's death and she clasped Evelyn's hands in hers.
"Thank you, M'lady." She gasped out when she gathered enough breath in her lungs. She rubbed her shoulder where only a slight ache remained, the deep gut-wrenching agony of five days ago was no more.
"I would like to see the others, but please return with them. I would hate to loose such a friend so soon."

Nostariel's sunshine laugh was infectious. Evelyn found a grin on her own face as a torrent of laughter rippled out from her own mouth. "Thank you." She said, still laughing. "But really, call me not 'lady'. It does not sute. Ambassador, if you must, or Evelyn." Evelyn rose. "Well, then i shall find your merry band and bring them back with haste!" She inclined her head, and with a flash of bright hair, and a twirl of green cloak, she was gone from the room.

She traversed the marble halls, following her instinct, and asking the gaurds if they had seen her quarry. Soon, her feet led her to her destination. There she beheld Morfindien, Rhavaniel, and Naerwen, all talking to a figure who's back was to her. Whoever it was, they seemed to be in meaninful converstion. Knowing she was on a mission, but still not wishing to rudely interrupt, Evelyn stopped in her footsteps. Where she stopped, down the hall from the others, a piller half sheilded her from their gaze. Across from her was an intricutly woven tapistry on the wall. She gazed at it intently as she awaited a break in the others conversation.

Everyone else: Hehe! I love the idea of there being a Sauron/Saruman protege on the loose. Maybe this protege is turning lovers, friends, family etc. Naerwen lost a friend. Maybe the same happened to him? Although I do rather much fancy him being evil. I haven't really played an evil character before. Let me know what you guys think. I have an idea what he would maybe look like, but no name, but I don't mind.

"Mae govannen, Sadron," said Naerwen as she bowed her head to Rhavaniel's brother. "I can assure you," she said with a grin. "Your family has indeed been interesting." Naerwen laughed. It felt strange to her, to laugh. Her dreams were haunted by images of her friends burning in Osgiliath. Her lost companion was a constant presence in her dreams. Where had he gone? She shook herself slightly, to break away from her thoughts. "Where are you headed?" Naerwen's head tilted. "Have you heard anymore news on what Lord Aragorn has decided?" Her eyes caught sight of a figure waiting in the distance. On further inspection she could see it was Evelyn. Naerwen gestured for her to join them.

(Sorry I haven't posted that much lately, this week has been crazy and my mom and I are in the process of re-watching the LOTRs Trilogy EE versions. If we finish the RotK tonight, it will be the very first time I have seen all three movies in a row!*happy dance*)

A short while after Evelyn departed, someone knocked on Nostariel's chamber door before opening the barrier and entering the room.
"Ada!" Dropping the small combe she had been running through her hair to try to make herself presentable, Nostariel grabbed Legolas in a hug.

"Where am I headed?" Sadron sighed and adjusted his hood "Well- I am avoiding our dear Morfindien. I hear he is out for blood at the moment. Nice work by the way Rhan," he smiled weakly at Naerwen "I am on royal business, my lady. Thranduil requests that our family, and I quote 'does nothing to upset the balance'. There is something dark growing in Thranduil's heart indeed. He arranges for something so precarious as a royal wedding and neglects to tell our family that the groom is- was already spoken for. Or something along those lines- I cannot understand what Ruscien was up to. At any rate this has badly harmed the ties between our dukedom and the rest of Mirkwood."
Rhavaniel sniffed "I am sure the king means well," she stiffend as Evelyn came closer, then seemed to reconsider and smiled softly "Morfindien is still in his tower, I'm afraid. I fear he will turn into a gargoyle if he sits there for much longer. He has made four pages cry. At least that is what I'm told."

(Yes, I was able to watch all three in a row! I won't be posting today or at least I don't think I will. My dog died this morning and we are going to burry her. She was 11 years old and we think she had cancer. )

Evelyn lurked in the shadows. Naerwen gestured for her to join them. Smileing with twinkling eyes, she approched, catching the tail end of their conversation.

"Morfindien is still in his tower, I'm afraid. I fear he will turn into a gargoyle if he sits there for much longer. He has made four pages cry. At least that is what I'm told."

"Well, maybe i can have better luck convinceing him to emerage." She said with a mitchevious smile. "Nostraiel is doing well - she wishes me to bring this merry group back with me to her. She is eager to hear the news." Evelyn explained, assuming that 'everyone' included Morfindien.

I've been thinking, what if Naerwen's friend was the reason for all this evil? What if he was following in Sauron's steps? What if he was the son of Sauron? What do you guys think? I like the name ideas. Cannot choose between them. Let me know, what you guys think of my idea. xx

Naerwen's fair face sadened as Sadron spoke. "I am sorry your family is in such turmoil at this time. I do hope we can all figure out what is happening soon. I fear for all our sanity if we do not." Naerwen smirked slightly. "As for Morfindien, the more he hides in his tower the worse his thoughts will get. I think it would do him some good to express what is going on in his mind. I think it would be great for all of us to do that..." Her eyes flashed. Her attention turned to Evelyn. "I am glad to here Nostariel is well. How are you feeling?" Her head tilted quizzically.

The worry lines on the older elf's face vanished and for a brief instant he melted into his daughter's embrace. He soon remembered her wound and his purpous and pulled gently away.
"Star, are you sure you should be out of bed yet?" Legolas peered at her, searching for any sign of fatigue, yet finding none.
"I am well, Ada." She laughed and then her smile slowly faded.
"What is wrong?" Her father knelt before her, taking one of her hands in a shaking one of his own.
"I-It is about Ruscien...." A cloud seemed to eclipse the sun as pain shot through her heart.
"He is dead, Ada, I was there when it happened--"
"That is not of which I speak, Nostariel." He struggled for a while, wracking his brain for the right words before he continued.
"Ruscien was engaged."
"Of course he was, Ada...." Another look from Legolas halted her sentence.
"Yes, he was engaged to you, but he had also given his promise to Rhavaniel Falathiel as well. Apparently my father--your grandfather--had planned this alliance without my knowledge, even though he was aware of the words spoken between the two of you."
Nostariel did not know what to think at first; it felt as if her heart was being ripped apart again--and so soon after it's first break. She felt rage boiling up inside of her, not for Rhavaniel or even for Ruscien, for King Thranduil. She had never loved her grandfather, he had always seemed distant and hard like a marble statue of a King without a heart. She saw the concern on her father's face and quickly burried the emotions deep inside of her; she gave him a wan smile as a single tear traced down her cheek.
"It is alright, Ada...I will be alright."

"Perhaps you would have more luck than I,"Rhavaniel sighed. Her last confrontation with her older brother had ended with the walls of his chambers shaking and their loud voices bellowing down into the lower levels of the city. In battle their loudness was a blessing, allowing them to command over the din of clashing weapons. At peace and at court it was more of a curse and the two of them avoided direct confrontation with one another.

Sadron cleared his throat and bowed to Naerwen "We have always been in turmoil. In a way it was a blessing that Morfindien and the king were able to tolerate each other," he glanced at Evelyn "Perhaps it would not be so wise as to have Prince Legolas and the Duke in one room at the same time. At least not with witnesses- You know how he can get. He sees himself wronged by the royal family now- and we disgraced."
"Which we are most certainly not," his twin added shortly "But I am not sure he could be," her voice trailed off slightly.
"Civil," Sadron finished with a small smile "Poor Nostariel, she has been through such a lot. After I have spoken to Legolas I must pay her a visit."

Legolas embraced her again.
"It is good to see you back on your feet again, daughter." He kissed the top of her head before stepping back.
"I must see to some matters, but I will be back again to check on you before the day is over."
"I love you, Ada." Nostariel smiled at him, and with a small bow he left the room. She knew the "matters" of which he spoke probbably had something to do with King Thranduil and Ruscien. She heaved a sigh, shoving her tears back down and she slowly returned to her bed. She sat on it, not attempting to climb in yet.

Naerwen thought back to her first meeting with Morfindien, particularly his interaction with his sister. It had been unusually cold. Naerwen dismissed her thoughts. It was not for her to delve into the relationships of others. She was not sure she would take too kindly to it if the tables were turned. On the other hand, some advice on her relationship, or lack of relationship with Durion would be helpful. They had been friends since birth really. His mother was a single parent, but for all that she gave her son, a father did not seem to be needed. Durion had been a permanent fixture in Naerwen's life for as long as she had known him. A husband was what Naerwen had seen in him, but a friend was all he saw in her. This was accepted because Naerwen could not do without having him in her life. They had been on guard in the woods when he had disappeared. Now Naerwen came to think of it, Durion had been acting suspiciously in the few weeks before his disappearance. He had become secretive and withdrawn. She always felt he had been holding something back from her when she spoke to him.

Naerwen shook herself, suddenly realising how long she had been silent. "I'm sorry. Silly memories..." she said dismissively. "Surely Morfinidien cannot hold Prince Legolas at blame for what has happened regarding Ruscien. Legolas was not to know of what was going on. Neither of us were."
