She grinned at him before a pang went through her middle and she blinked hard against it. That was new. She gasped, reaching for more ale. It would help.

She blinked and shook her head. She hadn't, but then she hadn't know many pregnant women. Just Eowyn. And she didn't usually drink. Her eyes got wide. There was so much she didn't know. "I'm scared!" she exclaimed in a whisper.

He lay with her as she slept, making sure she was away and covered from the windows so as not to have the same experience he had.
He remembered that the wizard had given him a second ring, and it was now clear why. With an evil grin, Niko decided that for now, he would keep it a secret, for his entertainment.

She stirred in her sleep, curling instinctively against him, and their child doing the same. She smiled softly in her sleep as she dreamed of their child. Her mouth dropped open and she started to snore.
