Areanne was shifty. She creeped and slunk about, as she did when trying to pass unseen.
"I have never been in such a situation as this before...." she murmured. "The only time it got like this were a pack of wargs, and I haven't heard or seen any at all..."

"We're--" Tawry clamped his hand over Nessa's mouth.
"Now you've done it. Let me do the talking. If he is an enemy, we may have to run. Get ready to move quickly." Tawry said.
"Come out where we can see you. " He directed to the man hidden somewhere. "I'm an EYE, and she's an apprentice."
Nessa stuck her tounge out at him. She wasn't experienced, but she was no apprentice.

Marylyn trained her eyes in a circuit, shifting from tree to tree, seeking out any possible enemies or threats. There was nothing to be seen. She started to wonder if the long day was starting to play on her mind. She shook herself and gazed ahead. The journey would be over soon and maybe when all was said and done she would rest. These EYES seemed impressive, she would have to figure out how to join. At least then she would be doing something productive with her life. Helping her drunkard father was getting her nowhere, but on a quick road to bitterness.

"EYES you say?" Logan replied. "How do I know you are telling the truth?" The man's voice was familiar. "I too, am a member of EYES." He said as he stepped out from the tree, he remained posed, ready to dive back should an arrow be sent his way.

Areanne darted from tree to tree, searching thoroughly. Something was vaguely familiar about this. Something buried under the years of her past, that she had encountered before...

Nessa swung out of the tree gracefully before Tawry could stop her. "You can't know that without us revealing our names of course. My companion is one of the leaders of one of the regiments. Wait. Have I seen you before?" Nessa cocked her head to one side, trying to recall the elusive memory.

Oldin watched the forest carefully, looking for anything that might have come between them and Areanne. Seeing nothing, he did not relax knwoing that any moment something could happen.

At last it occurred to Areanne.
"This place... Look at the patterns of the broken foliage. It's a virtually straight line. Some kind of adder has been through here, and a big one too." Her dark eyes flitted warily about, trying to find a lurking viper or snake-hole.
"We have to go very quietly now...."

The hours crawled by for Eonwe. Yet she took it silently. it was something she knew she could not escape. Death awaited her certainly if she even attempted that. Finally, it was meal time. she sat down with the other slaves on the ground, taking the small cup of water and stale piece of bread they handed out. they never spoke while they ate, too consumed with shoving the bread into their mouths to ease the hunger clawing at their stomachs.
