Sage smiled to herself. She knew what Meredith was probably thinking at that moment. She was thinking the same thing: We would if we could. Suddenly a Ringwraith cry brought her back to reality. She could see them; they were coming up on the group, fast.

Alithia pushed Ghost faster, if she could jusst get to them faster...Her eyes were on the two woman laying on the ground. Ghost, her horse, was galloping alongside the Nazgul but off to the right in the sage brush and stuff.
Ghost's strides slowly became longer and faster than the Nazgul's steeds. He gained ground faster then they did...He was only a few yards away from the two women when he stumbled. Alithia's leg was stuck underneath Ghost's body, and her head hit a hard rock. The world went black.
Ghost struggled to stand up but his front right leg wouldn't hold his weight.

Sage became aware of hoofbeats off to the side in the trees. She looked, but only saw an ordinary woman riding a horse towards them.

IC: Meredith's breathing became hard, she was thinking of every possible thing she could do, but none of the things would even help them in any way, let alone save anyone. She looked at Sage, wondering if it was the last time she would see her friend, or any one else.

Sage felt hot tears welling up in her eyes. Suddenly the rider was there, and she had scooped Meredith up into her saddle.
"Noro lim!" she commanded her horse, and the animal leapt forward. Sage watched, mouth handing open. Then Eomer had done the same to her, and they were all riding together, side by side.
