Eleshna awoke not long after the dawn began, though looking even less rested than the night before.

She sat against the tree and watched the morning light grow stronger.

Jaden knew that they would all need to eat something if they were to face the Maithiliat.

They would reach him that day if he was still at his cave.

After breakfast Jaden asked Eleshna, "Do you need more sleep? Or would you like to go on?"

Eleshna shook her head, "I'll be fine... please do not worry about me resting... I prefer not to, since it brings too much idle time upon ones mind..."

She strode over to the mare and grasped a handful of mane, pulling herself onto the horse. Without further word, she urged the mare onward.

As they rode, Eleshna didn't look at either of them, instead she kept her gaze ahead, as though fearing to cast her glance upon anyone.

Jaden jumped on Syndar and continued on.

It wasn't long before the three of them reached the cave of the Maithiliat.

The creature was not in sight, but the horses were tens and something vile hung in the air.

Eleshna glanced around, alert, as she unsheathed her sword silently. Her mare shied now and then, and constantly sidestepped.

"What egsactily do I do with this sword, anything special?" Jaden asked Eleshna as he pulled out the sword Veron had given him.

Eleshna hardly knew, since she hadn't read what Veron had been reading, but to her own surprise, she began explaining, "You fight as hard as you can, and that sword has the ability to pierce the Maithiliat's thick scales, and when you have the chance, you slice into its throat and the skull, then using the dagger, you carve out the heart and... sounds gross but... the brains..."

After Eleshna had finished explaining, a half puzzled, half troubled look was on her face.

"I can understand a concerned look after explining such a thing... but are you ok?" Jaden asked her noticing the look on her face.

Eleshna closed her eyes for a moment, nodding her head slightly. "It's just... the feeling of being invaded and controlled... I haven't felt it in so long, and it's not something one enjoys... only something one gets used to."

She opened her eyes and bowed her head, letting out a heavy sigh, "and I thought I had freedom in my grasp..."

"I'm sorry." Jaden said softly. He could understand a bit. Not to the extent that she had been, but he too had been a slave at one time.

"Then I say we kill this thing and get you free." Jaden said with a firmnes that he had not spoken with before.

Jaden walked closer to his cave after dismounting Syndar.
Azher walked closly behind him as he approched the cave, sword out and ready.

Those around could feel some sort of power growing in him as he walked on, a strange power.

Eleshna nodded, smiling slightly. She was thankful he was so understanding of her situation, but wondered why he would pledge so firmly to free her.

Dismounting her mare, Eleshna walked beside Jaden, keeping alert with her sword gleaming by her side.

Soon from the cave emerged the Maithiliat.

The large beast moved forwards to meat the chalange with an ear splitting sreek and aagresive display of might.

Jaden walked forwards towards the thing and kneeled on the ground as he pulled out his own sword and stabed it into the ground.

As he sat there a white light began to glow from his center.

The Maithiliat became further angered by the light at first, stooping to snap at Jaden.

"Use the dragon blade that same way" Eleshna instructed, stepping forward and swiftly lashing out at the creature's jaw with her sword.

The Maithiliat drew back slightly and began to eye the situation, as though thinking out a stratigy.

Jaden jumped to his feet in a surge of power, attacking the Maithiliat with all his strength.

Taking Eleshna's words to heart he fought hard as the creature retaliated.

Eleshna was occasionally able to strike through the Maithiliat's side, providing deep slices, as her sword was of much the same make as the one given to Jaden.

The Maithiliat began to weaken as Jaden's attack grew more furious, but it still put up a fierce fight.

Taking the broken tablet, Eleshna placed it on the ground, and whispering the words written on it, she struck it with her sword, and brought on the same effect as before, though this time the Maithiliat's head was brought down to ground level.

"Strike its throat!" Eleshna instructed, as she supported herself with her sword.

Jaden raised his sword and struck the Maithiliat across the throat with all his might.

Not even seeing if it was dead he raised and went for another strike.
