The man muttered to himself then when Silmarwen again dug the tip of the blade against his back, he spoke aloud. "Tell the light elf to stop digging her blade into my back. I don't want to have to bloody my blade with such filth..." "As if you'd get a chance to," Silmarwen gave a slight snarl.

Niell looked at Silmarwen. "No, I don't think I will," he said smoothly. "I'll just let her make that choice."

(I'm beating you in length of posts... o_o lol ^^)
Silmarwen gave a slight smirk and twisted the blade slightly, "No... I don't think I'll remove it... but I do think I'll see how much you can stand for..." She was about to grab the man's shoulder to turn him around, but he turned swiftly, catching her off guard. Silmarwen went to jump back, but the hand which had been on the cloaked shoulder was grabbed and she was pulled forward. The dark elf quickly brought a blade, which had been in his hand beneath his cloak, to her throat. Silmarwen paused, as she had been ready to deal a heavy blow to the man's head with her sword hilt, but now found the dagger against her throat.

(( maybe you just put me in difficult situations...like this one O_o lol ))
Niell had little time to react, he brought his sword up but was a moment too late. He lowered the blade slowly, his gaze burning like silver fire. "Let her go," he said sternly.

"Why should I?" he sneered, pressing the dagger edge to her skin. Silmarwen dared not move, and didn't make a sound, though her jaw was clenched as she inwardly cursed her foolishness for not being quick enough.

(( no problem, adds more of a challenge ^^ ))
Niell lowered his sword to his side, his shoulders sagging slightly. His gaze strayed to the ground, "what do you want?" he asked quietly.

"For you to return, and to prove you can be accepted, kill the light elf. She knows too much now," he challenged, moving his dagger just under her jaw, firm against her throat.

Niell looked up quickly. "I'll go with you," he said quietly, "but I refuse to kill her."

"Unacceptable," the dark elf snapped in reply. "Shameful, that a dark elf can't even perform his duty," he scolded mockingly, "you go with me, but she dies, even if I have to do it myself, and if you do not do it, there's no telling what you'll face when I inform the others that you were weak and couldn't even complete the task given to you." Silmarwen's eyes were cast down, and with each word the man spoke, she tensed more, her fists clenched, as the dagger was pressed harder. "Just get it over with and let him go..." she muttered through clenched teeth. "Oh, so you want me to kill you and let him go? How touching, the light elf has a heart, but that's more understandable than the dark elf having one, since they really aren't supposed to," he replied, sliding the dagger ever slightly against her skin.

"Do not make dry threats to me," Niell hissed darkly. "Why are you so intent on having me return anyway?"

"For one, we always have a use for you... and what makes you think you can be accepted into a common crowd? You'd never be able to keep your tongue to yourself enough for your own good," he replied, pulling the dagger off her skin slightly. Silmarwen let out a breath of relief, but quickly held it again, bringing her gaze up to look at Niell.

((I have to go but I'll be on for a little bit tomorrow >.< ))
Niell's eyes narrowed, "if you truly need me that much," he backed away a bit and reached for one of his daggers. He drew the blade and put it to his throat, "I have nothing to lose and you've made the situation rather desperate. I won't tell you again, let her go."

(k, see you then. I'll make this post nice and long ^^ lol)
The dark elf hesitated, "you wouldn't dare.... or maybe you would... foolish dark elf..." he pulled the dagger away from Silmarwen's throat and pushed her away. As soon as she was free, Silmarwen turned and drove her sword through the dark elf's chest with such a force the blade went completely to the other side and into a tree. "That will teach you not to mess with a she-elf," she spat as she yanked the blade out in an upwards motion, giving it a harsh twist for maximum damage. The dark elf had no time to react and barely any time to be surprised, for the next moment he sank down into a lifeless heap upon the ground.
After kicking the dead dark elf once to be sure, Silmarwen turned to Niell, wiping the slight line of blood on her neck with the back of her hand, a look of surprise still on her face. "You would have sacrificed your own life by your own hand? Why? How were you to know if he had been merely trying to kill the both of us and that was his ploy to be rid of you? I am not worth that much, that I am sure of... "

Niell lowered the knife, relief flooding through him. "I didn't have much time to think of anything else," Niell said his pulse still racing. "Besides, death would be better than what Mordor would have in store for me." He was silent for a moment, "and I think you're worth it."

Silmarwen looked at him, her expression still surprised, as she didn't say anything for a while. "Why am I worth it?..." she asked quietly.
