Extra: He was rather fond of the four hobbits before they all went on an adventure. During these years, Drogo has been very concerned about them. Then, once Merry and Pippin came back and asked for help, Drogo has the first to volunteer. He doesn't know practically anything about the outside world, but his heart is huge, and Drogo is willing to learn what he must to save his friends.)

Drogo dragged one of the swords across the ground. He now felt even worse for Merry and Pippin, having to carry all of these weapons. Little did he know that the sword he was transporting was for a man, not a hobbit, but Drogo felt bad none the less. Walking up to Pippin, Drogo inquired, "What would you have be do, Pip?"

Pippin looked over at Drogo and smiled. "Ah, a faithful warrior." He looked around and then asked, "Your first mission for me is to find Merry for me. I haven't seen him all day!"

"Can do," Drogo panted and asked, "Anywhere I can put this?" Drogo lifted up the sword slightly and then had to fall back down to the ground. "I have dragged it all of the way from across Hobbiton, for the troops, and it is amazingly heavy."

Pippin looked around and shrugged. "Just lay it here by my feet. I'm sure I can find someone to keep it for you until battle."

Drogo looked into Pippin's eyes with worry. "I have to carry that huge thing?" he asked, panicking, "Don't you have anything smaller?"

Merry was by the horses, helping gear them up for battle. Once they were all fit and to his liking, Merry took two of the smaller ones and led them to the main fellowship area, to find Pippin.

Pippin looked around and then took out his own sword, keeping it in it's sheath and undoing the sheath from his belt, and held it out to Drogo. "A fine sword, that is. An elvish blade. It will do you well in battle. Take it."

Drogo grabbed the handle of the sword and told Pippin, "Thank you. It's much lighter." Smiling, Drogo soon set off to follow Pippin's order to find Merry. Everyone was rustling about, and it all created a new hysteria throughout the Shire. Sauron gained power. Drogo didn't know much about it, in turn, but he did know that it wasn't good.

Seeing a split in the crowd, Drogo saw two small horses following... Merry. "Merry!" Drogo shouted, delighted to be able to succeed so quickly. Drogo ran up to Merry, who immediately had Drogo take up one of the two horses which Drogo followed happily. "Pippin has been looking for you," Drogo told Merry.

"And I am looking for him also," Merry replied, looking over to Drogo as if it was completely obvious.

"Well," Drogo thought aloud, "We need to hurry."

"Yes," Merry agreed, "and we will."

Pippin smiled as Drogo left, and helped a few other hobbits with their helmets and their armor and then he picked up Drogo's old sword. It was definately heavier, but he could still lift it, which was good.

Pippin heart, though, was heavy. He lost two of his very good friends, and feared he lost them forever. And, now being a commander of his own hobbit army, along with Merry, of course, he had no time for games or fun or even simple drinking. He smiled less and less, and now he was in company with many more Big Folk, Elves, and Drawves, all going to save Frodo and Sam. He sighed heavily and sat on a rock as he waited for Drogo and Merry to arrive. Things used to be so simple before he and Merry ran into Sam and Frodo in Maggot's fields. That day seemed like a lifetime ago.

"Pippin!" Merry yelled out, seeing his friend sitting nearby, "I hear you have been looking for me. What's the matter? Are we heading off yet?" Merry handed the other horse over to Drogo, who tied them to a nearby tree and stood closeby to await more orders.

"Merry!" Pippin said, and jumped up, smiling for once at his long-time friend and now fellow commander. "Aragorn said to prepare the troops. I think we may be on the verge of a march to our desination...or our doom." He added the last bit in no more than a whisper, and the only person that could probably hear it would be Merry, if he heard it.

"Stick with destination, my friend, we are going to get out of this one, just like all of the others," Merry comforted Pippin. Sighing, Merry thought to himself, "Ok, summon the troops."

Turning to Drogo, Merry instructed, "Now untie the horses. We are going to need them sooner than either of us expected."

Pippin looked up and tried to smile, but failed. But he heaved a heavy sigh and looked out towards Aragorn. He had to be strong for all the other hobbits. They had never even been in a battle, let alone in a war! He had to be strong as there leader and for Merry.

Merry was going to head over to the horse, that Drogo had just untied. "Pippin," Merry sighed, "I know it hurts. I can feel a sagging in my heart also, to help and save them, but sitting here questioning yourself and your leadership is not going to help Frodo or Sam." With that, Merry hoped on top of his horse and looked over at Pippin, waiting for Pippin to do the same.
