"Get by the fire." Aling told the three Elves. "If you have weapons, get ready to use them, otherwise grab some burning sticks." There was little they could do with orcs surrounding them, but Aling knew he and his friend weren't going to go down without a fight.

Handion looked at Aling and then at the three Elves and put away his bow and took out his sword. They were about to move in...Handion could feel it.

Right on the tails of the goblins, Dalria kept low and silent to the ground as the creatures sprung their attack on those near the source of the fire. Utter chaos reigned as she kept to the side, prefering to weild her bow at a distance and under concealment so as to confuse the goblins and trolls.

Tolur, however, ran at their heels, delving at the goblins in a surprise attack from behind, so as to further distribute chaos, giving the strangers a chance to catch their guard and prepare to fight. He was surprised, however, when he noticed two girls and a child, the source of the cry, obviously.

"Stay by the fire!" He called out, backing the directions of Aling, though he spoke across a crowd of rather furious goblins, his broadsword taking down one, then two, but there were many.

Meanwhile from the safety and secrecy of a tree, Dalria skillfully let fly her arrows, though careful to not aim too near the five who were caught in the midst of the blood thirsty crowd.

Aling was surprised by the new arrivals, but he definitely wasn't about to complain. He darted away from the fire, swinging his sword into goblin flesh, still staying near the girls.

Mithain put an arrow to her bowstring and drew it tight, but her hands were shaking so badly she couldn't aim. In her mind's eye she was seeing orcs attacking her mother, father and friends.

Handion heard the cry of "stay by the fire" off in the distance and again, switching, he went back to his bow so he could stay put, and still do damage to the orc and which he now realized also consisted of goblin, party.

((Sorry for the absence - I was grounded. ))

Aramel clutched the now screaming Eldarin closer and picked up a flaming torch - she knew she couldn't hold a bow and arrow or fight with a sword one-handed, and she certainly wasn't about to let Eldarin go, only to become a feast for the orcs and goblins. Instead she stayed close to Handion, assuring herself he wouldn't let anything come to near. It was happening all over again.

((Tur - do you want Aramel and Handion to 'get together'? :teehee: ))

((Oh, I would love that! :) lol))

Handion looked at the girl that held the flames out of the corner of his eye and then he shot another goblin. "They are scattering, Aling!" He yelled to his friend, mentioning that the goblins were not expecting an attack from behind and where now unsure of what to do.

"Watch for the troll!" Dalria called from the branch of a tree upon which she was standing, her balance superb, though her call had drawn attention to herself, revealing to the goblin archers the location of the source of arrows. She swiftly retreated, leaping from one tree to the next with deft agility.

Indeed the troll had been brought forth from what Dalria could see above, yet it did not reveal itself until it shattered branches on the left side of camp, breaking through the cover.

"Watch your head!" Tolur called to Handion as the troll took a swing towards him. The Gondorian tracker was too far at the time, preoccupied with a few persistent goblins but the least he could do was give a warning call.

Handion was glad for the warning. He turned and saw the swing coming towards him, Aramel, and Eldarin. Handion quickly turned and pulled Aramel and Eldarin to the ground, covering them as the troll's swing missed. Handion looked up, cursing loudly, and said to Aramel, "Get away from the troll!" Handion stood and moved quickly, missing another swing from the troll's club.

But he wasn't so lucky a third time.

The troll was going after Aramel again. Handion threw a rock at the troll's head and it paused for a second, glanced back at Aramel and Eldarin, and then it quickly swung it's club and hit Handion squarley in the chest, swiping him up from the ground and throwing Handion across the campsite and causing him to hit a tree.

Handion's head was dripping with blood, along with his lip and mouth. Handion's body, after hitting the ground, went limp.

((okay, so now he is uncounsiense or however you spell it. :teehee: I did that so he didn't seem mary-sue-ish, but I am willing to take any suggestions on when he should wake up! :)))

((Wait, I got confused we all posted at the same time... hang on..
Edit: Okay, I deleted my old post... now let's see.. *thinks*))

Aramel's eyes widened as she watched Handion's body go limp before throwing the flaming torch down and crawling over to him, trying not to call attention to herself. "Handion," she breathed, shaking the unconcious elf's body. "Handion, wake up!"

An approaching goblin recieved a dagger through the throat as Aramel tried to guard Handion's body and hold on to Eldarin at the same time.

Handion, however, did not move, as the blood slipped down his forehead and trickled out of his mouth. A good sign was, though, that he was breathing...

slightly.

Dalria hissed as an arrow grazed her left arm, causing her to miss her aim with the bow, the arrow sinking harmlessly into a tree right beside the goblin at which she had been aiming. With a determined effort, she took another arrow and drew the string taught against her cheek. The bow made a loud thwap at the extended draw length, but the arrow flew downward and passed through two goblins.

Tolur rushed forward suddenly, the tall man slinging an arm around the waist of Mithain and swinging her to the side just in time in order to avoid another blow of the troll.

"Dalria! Get your act in order!" He barked in a deep grumble, ducking beneath yet another blow, one arm still keeping a slightly rough, but secure hold on the young girl, while the other held his hefty broadsword. With a clean stroke, he slit into the wrist of the troll, causing it to drop its club but it came crashing after them.

Dalria however, was a little preoccupied with a goblin which had decided to join her in the tree, both of them on the brink of falling as they struggled to gain control over a single dagger. Meanwhile goblin archers repeatedly fired their arrows, obviously not caring if they hit the other goblins.

Goblin corpses fell from the trees, one landing in Aramel's path. The elf had no time to react as she fell onto the ground, the baby rolling out of her grasp and her sword landing a few feet away.

"ELDARIN!"

The screaming child was picked up by a particularly nasty Orc who looked at it with a mischevious smile. Aramel suddenly felt a hand dig into her scalp and lift her up by her hair. She kicked and tried to wriggle away from the Orc that had a tight grip on her and looked over in Eldarin's direction desperately. By the time she reached him it would be too late...

Handion heard a blood curtling scream and he lifted his head, slightly, looking around. His head throbbed and he could barely move, but an orc, his back to him, held Aramel and he saw she was not holding the baby, but another orc was. Handion felt weak, but he pulled out his dagger and slashed the orc that held Aramel at his necks, then delivered the finally blow in his back. As that orc fell, Handion thought of throwing his dagger and killing the orc...but what if he hit the baby? Handion knew he couldn't but he thrust the dagger into Aramel's hands and yelled,

"Go! Go! Save your brother!" Handion was still terribly weak and he couldn't stand. Part of the tree he knocked against lay on his leg, immobilzing him.

"Hannon le."

Aramel wasted no time and stabbed the orc repeatedly until the snarling creature's yellow eyes rolled back in his head and began he began dropping to the ground. Aramel took Eldarin back in her arms and hugged him close, breathing hard. Handion's dagger was now covered with fresh, dark blood.

Puddles stained the ground. There were less orcs than when the battle had begun, but another troll was coming to cause more trouble.

Handion smiled slightly, but when he heard another troll coming, he curseds softly, under his breath. He needed to move, but his legs where crushed under the overly-large tree limb and his body still was weak, and losing blood by the minute. Handion looked around for Aling, but couldn't see him, for Handion's vision started to fade once again...and then, for the second time in one night (though for two different reasons), Handion passed out.
