Eruraina stopped short. If Boremir was still alive, and not with the fellowship, than the fellowship had not been made yet! That means, if she beat everyone to Riverndell, then she could meet all the heros without that much traveling. But she would have to travel alone, and she didn't have that much food. "Maybe on my way North," she said, as she studdied the map, "I could stop at Isengard. But how do I know, or not if he has turned evil yet? Or, I could go through Fangorn, to get to Lothlorien, then find a way to pass through the Misty Mountains, and off to Rivendell..."

Glad for the carpet of green moss, Luth removed her socks and stuck them-inside out of course-into her pocket.

Following the singing, she arrived in a open glade, but instead of an Elvish chorus, as she had started to expect, she saw the last person she expected: Galadriel herself.

Completely speechless, she stopped cold. The Lady smiled, obviously aware of her coming. "Mae govannen, mellon," came a voice as clear as glass and as warm as sunshine.

Searching her memory for any Elvish she could muster, Luth stuttered, "Má-mára aurë. I don't suppose you speak English. Uh, ma'am," she added awkwardly.

"Of course, though I appreciate your use of my language. Please, come this way, we have much to talk about. And I know you won't say no to a clean set of clothes." Galadriel swept her hand in the direction she indicated, and waited for Luthien to follow.

Still slightly dumbstruck, she nodded and hurried along like a frightened child. She was speaking with Galadriel! She was in Middle Earth! This was so much better than a dream.

(May I still join? If not, I'll delete this...but I hope I can :)

Meldawen leaned back in her computer chair and groaned inwardly. She banged her wireless optical mouse on the pad one last time, just to make sure it had absolutely no power left in it. She stared longingly at the computer screen, wishing she could have just gotten that one last desktop background downloaded before the batteries in her mouse died.
"Mom! We need more batteries!" Mel yelled up the stairs, and started to play around with the keyboard, trying to figure out a way to navigate the Internet with no mouse. She pressed Shift...and then Ctrl...and then Alt...and then, without realizing it, she leaned forward to unplug her headphones and her arm hit the Backspace key. An odd message popped up. "Speak, friend, and enter. Press Mellon to continue."
Frowning, Mel did so. Then the world dissolved in a whoosh of color and she landed with a thud on her back in the middle of a meadow.
Mel stood up dizzily. "Ow." she said to herself, thinking nobody was around. "Was that ever weird. I wonder -" she rotated, trying to get her bearings, and then her jaw dropped.
There was a wizard. About ten feet away. Smiling. Mel blinked rapidly and rubbed her eyes. Nope. That was definetely Gandalf the wizard.
"Please close your mouth, Meldawen, you're drooling."
Mel shut her mouth obligingly and stood there uncertainly in the long grass. The wizard winked. "See you in Rivendell."

Then he disappeared.

Gwenneth suddenly burst through the door.

"Apologies for being late! I was uh, side tracked," she said, clearing her throat casually. "Oh..."
She stopped in her tracks, staring up at Gandalf. My, he's tall...

"Hello," said the wizard.

"Hi," said Gwenneth, trying on a smile. "Anyway, continue your discussion...didn't mean to interrupt."

She sat down in one of the small chairs and folded her hands, listening intently.

"Gwenneth are you joining Pandora and Dark to Rivendell?" He smiled at the three girls, his hand fiddling with his cane.

Pandora just looked at Gwenneth with a shrug.

"He is Gandalf, what can I say?" This caused the wizard to laugh with mirth.

Of course you may. Anyone may join in at any time in the RP. I know it's going fast, but even if we're halfway through summer you should feel free to join in.

Folks, how about posting in large letters *(name) REACHED RIVENDELL* at the end of your last post when you make it to Rivendell? That way I will know when most of us have reached there and can get the next part set up. :)

----------------------------
Ivreniel opened the door, took a tall blue glass out of the cupboard, and poured herself some Diet Sierra Mist. She needed something to cool herself down; it was quite a hot day outside, and moreover she'd just embarrassed herself by nearly telling a new acquaintance "I'm Ivy" instead of her real name. "Drat that nickname! It's too nice and easy-off-the tongue. I'm identifying with it too much!"

Habitually, Ivy walked over to the computer, and typed in Arwen-Undomiel.com. It'd be fun to see how the new RPG and other things were doing. She discovered that it had already reached 6 pages, less than 12 hours after posting. Better success than she'd thought!

After poking around the forum for a bit, she noticed that the light was beginning to fade. Grabbing her swimsuit, she decided to finish her "cooling off" with a quick run through the sprinkler. The swimming pool hadn't been moved from the South.

Of course by the time she'd finished playing with her dog, Rodwen, in the muddy grass she realized she'd need to take a quick shower and get off all the grass clippings before they aggravated her allergies. Swimsuit still on, Ivy hopped in. She thought back over the day with satisfaction.

Then, suddenly and inexplicably, it happened. It doesn't mean the water shut off. Why would the water shut off in a story like this? Neither does it mean the water turned scalding or freezing, or that Ivy slipped or fell asleep or any such thing.
It simply implies the most strange event in Ivy's entire 22 years.

As the last blade of grass rolled down her leg, off her foot and into the drain, and she reached for her robe, Ivreniel suddenly felt the water pull on her. She resisted it, and it stopped. Then again. Her footing slipped. The drain seemed to be pulling her towards itself, while the water suddenly felt heavy, hamming her down, down, down...

As she whirled down the drain Ivreniel squealed. A second of blackness, then brilliant light, the light of the sun hitting a huge amount of water. Ivreniel’s squeal of fright turned to a tremendous scream of terror as she realized she was rushing down a waterfall!

Gwenneth looked from Dark to Pandora.

"Well, yeah, it was my plan," said she, smiling. "But...well, you all may have already discussed this...but we don't exactly know the way."

Then she added, whispering to Pandora, "Anything to get this story moving along." with a wink.

Mel opened and shut her eyes several more times, just to make absolutely sure she wasn't dreaming. Then she sat down in the middle of the meadow in her jean cutoffs and her "I'm out of my mind...please leave a message!" t-shirt, and began to grin like an idiot. She started to talk out loud to herself.
"If that was Gandalf, and I think it was, then Gandalf lives in Middle-Earth. And he obviously hasn't left yet, because I just saw him. So that means I'm either around or before the time period of the Council of Elrond and the Fellowship of the Ring, and I'm in Middle-Earth. Obviously not really dressed appropriately, but that can be remedied." She gave a little a shriek of delight and stood up. "First course of action - knowing one's location is a very valuable thing!"
Mel picked a direction at random and began to fight her way through a patch of trees. She emerged and saw a long plain with a broad road running through it, and way off in the distance a small hump that looked like a cluster of buildings.

Pandora laughed and nudged Gwenneth gently on her arm.

"Gandalf I think is going to take us, he knew where we were headed without me telling him." She whispered to Gwen before looking back to Gandalf.

"Yes my dear Pandora, I am going to take you to Rivendell if you do not mind the company of an old wizard." He laughed joyfully sitting next to Bilbo as he sipped some juice. Pandora grinned and nodded looking to Gwenneth.

"What do you say?"

"I'm all for it!" Gwenneth grinned. "I'm ready to leave whenever we need to. Oh, but I bet Riniel Aranel would like to come. I think she's still..." Gwenneth paused. "somewhere? Oh well, she'll turn up some time."

"Does she know her way here?" Asked Bilbo.

"Sir, this is Bag End. How could she not find it?" Gwenneth grinned once again and caught Pandora's glance with another wink.

Luthien hummed to herself as she dressed in borrowed Elvish travelling clothes. Now if only she could grow some of those fantastic ears...

The evening had gone by so quickly, Luthien felt in a daze. All that exotic food, then the beautiful Elvish songs she had always wanted to hear. It was simply magical. She longed to stay in Lothlorien forever, but Galadriel had told her that she was to journey to Rivendell with some Elvish ambassadors. She could only hope this council was indeed the Council of Elrond. Plus, Galadriel had hinted that she may meet some "familiar names" on her trip. Perhaps some people she knew would be here too!

Pandora held in her laughter, which you could clearly see in her eyes at Gwenneth's words. Yes, how could you not fine one of the most recognized pieces of literature?

"Shall we wait for Riniel then before leaving? I would much like to find more appropriate clothing." She smiled looking down at her black and white 50's style dress.

"You are right my dear, you will surly be noticed by everything evil and not in such garb." Gandalf smiled with a wink before holding out his staff.

"Guys? GUYS???" Riniel looked around for her friends. Having gotten lost in the crowds, she now had no idea where Gwen and Pandora were. After wandering around for some time, she finally found them standing in front of Bag End with...Riniel gasped. Oh my. Is that Gandalf?

Mel looked doubtfully at the fuzzy hump in the distance. She didn't relish the propect of a long trek in the late afternoon with bare legs and arms. The mosquitoes would no doubt be emerging soon. Nevertheless, she got moving and tried to think where she might be - the map of Middle-Earth drawn on the wall of her bedroom was firmly imprinted in Mel's head and she soon thought she had a pretty good idea of where she was.

Then a thought struck her that was so amazing, she needed to stop and think about it. "I'm heading for Bree," she said to herself. "And Bree means The Prancing Pony. And the Prancing Pony could mean - Strider!"

Mel continued walking, talking sternly to herself. "No rabid fangirl antics, you're above that. In fact, it might be better if you didn't speak at all." Then she dissolved into giggles, realizing she'd just quoted the RotK movie. "That's just messed up. None of that, Mel!"

"Yeah, I'd also like to find something else to wear," added Gwenneth. "Imagine, two 21st Century teen girls hiking through Middle Earth in...skirts!"
Then she asked, "Do you mind if I make myself a sandwich? You know how going to the dentist is...they don't let you eat or drink for hours and hours after they clean your teeth." She growled, and just now noticing the big, bright sticker still stuck on herself, ripped it off. "You'd think at my age they'd get that I wasn't into the whole sticker thing..."

It was then that Gwenneth noticed a good deal of peoples in the room had lost expressions.

"You'll find bread over on the counter," said Frodo, slowly, pointing.

Pandora smiled and hugged Riniel when she stood transfixed at the sight of Gandalf.

"Yes it's him... where have you been? Nevermind..." She laughed and motioned for Gandalf to continue what he was going to do.

"Oh Riniel how nice to meet you." He tipped his big pointy hat causing Pandora to giggle. Gandalf winked at her before pointing his staff at Pandora and muttering some words, her black and white dress transformed into dark grey leggings and a long green-gray riding robe that billowed slightly at the arms and had crisscrossing ties across the stomach.

"Nice!" Pandora smiled before looking at Gwen and RA
