Veron's fury was vast, and his strength was great as well, as he consumed many of the shadows near him to strengthen his own attack. He retaliated with force and skill, pulling out a dagger as well, and skillfully parrying blows.

Eleshna watched for a while as the others fought the shadows, staying some distance back.

(Sorry if I respond slow >< I'm not feeling too well... and I think that bismol stuff just makes it worse... bleh, most awful taste ever created...)

Jaden continued attacking, slicing at the shadows that came to close with the dragon blade.

Veron recieved a few slices as well as dealt a few slices, and the battle continued for quite some time.

Meanwhile Eleshna and the others were desperately holding back the Shadows, any wounds recieved from the figures to any of the men, chilled and blackened, though still bleeding.

Jaden fought hard, looking around he could see the other men fighting the shadows.

He blocked another attack from Veron and a shadow as he fought, ducking down he spun under Veron's sword and came up behind the attacking shadow, stabing it in the back with the dragon sword.

Veron growled low, and moved forward fiercly, knocking Jaden to the ground by the force of his blow. He delved his sword towards Jaden.

Eleshna turned around in time to face the Shadow she had early called Lech. "Lech..." she spat "long time no see..." The said Shadow seemed to grin but said no words as he clashed his shadow sword with her sword. The force knocked her off her horse, and she rolled, coming to her feet just intime to block a second blow.

Jaden let out a burst of light that sent Veron flying back against the wall.

In a moment, (after cutting down another shadow) Jaden was ontop of Veron, another attack pending.

Veron gathered himself to his full height (rather tall) and his eyes darkened in fury. The fear which grew from him was enough to drive the Shadows themselves back from the dueling pair.

Lech's blade seemed to glide right through Eleshna's blade, and she had barely enough time to jump back from the blow meant for her throat. She struck back, but no matter how hard she tried, her blade had no effect on Lech, the power and spells of Veron protecting him.

Lech thrust his blade forward, and it made no mark, but caused Eleshna to stumble back, clutching her shoulder as the numbness caused her to drop her sword.

This had much the same effect for all the men there, but Lech was the only Shadow protected by Veron's power.

Jaden tossed Eleshna the dragon blade after watching the events. He hopped that it would work against Lech.

He then concentrating on Veron.

Veron made a hasty attack against Jaden, leaving too much to chance for himself. His lack of patience would be his downfall.

Eleshna reached and caught the blade, but shivered as all the warmth of her body had been drawn out of her when Lech's blade had touched her. She turned and blocked another strike, the dragon blade actually holding Lech's sword at bay, but when she went to strike him, it still didn't effect the Shadow

Jaden saw Veron's attack as it came in, fast and hard, but sloppy.

Jaden dropped to the floor, spinning to his left and rolling. He came up behind Veron and landed a hard kick to the back of Veron's legs, sending him falling backwards.

As Veron fell Jaden brought out his dager and stabbed at Veron, hitting him in the back.

It might not kill him, Jaden knew, but it would sevearly limmit his ability to fight and therfore handing Jaden, Eleshna, and the remaining men the victory.

Veron gave a cry as the dagger sank deep, and the shadows all screeched in unison as Veron's will power was driven from them.

Veron pushed himself to his feet, staggering, and the Shadows looked around in confusion, because their master had drawn all his power towards them to himself. He faced Jaden with a distorted face of anger and pain. He knew he could not fight when wounded, and would ultimately be killed.

"You... have made your mistake... the creature you threatened to summon, will be my revenge.... even in death..." Veron spat. With his remaining strength, and all his will and life, he sent forth from him a shadow, vast and dark, while speaking a langauge strange to even Eleshna.

After he was finished, Veron fell to his knees, the shadow drifting away towards the far mountains. He looked up at Jaden and smirked. "I do not die.... I merely move on..." He closed his eyes, alowing the power of the Shadows to begin to heal him.

Eleshna was now behind Veron, and grasped her sword with both her hands. "For all that you have done, and for all that you plan, you shall pay by your own blood and death..." she spoke through gritted teeth.

Veron went to turn, but Eleshna's blade came swiftly, beheading the vial being. Just at that moment, Lech came behind Eleshna and drove his shadowed blade into her back.

Eleshna dropped her own bloodied blade, shuddering, and fell forward.

All the Shadows had fled upon seeing the death of Veron, and Lech followed suit, retreating like a whisp of smoke.

Jaden, still emersed in his power sent a bolt of light that hit the blade in Eleshna, disintigrating it while stopping the bleading.

he rushed over to her and caught her before she fell to the ground. Taking her to a sutible spot the medics int he group quickly rushed around helping the wounded, one comming to assist Eleshna.

Jaden kept his hand on her arm, his power of healing makeing a direct link to her.

"Will she make it?" Jaden asked the healer. "It's hard to say, if she holds on there is a good chance she will. But if she doesn't wake up son..." a pause entered his words. "Well just have to wait and see."

"Don't die on me! Not now!" Jaden said, holding back the tears.

His memories fled back to his father, laying there, dying in his arms... there was nothing he could have done then. "But there is something I can do now." Jaden said softly.

A surge of power went out of him as the first time when he had brought Eleshna back from her death with the help of Knox and the power in the weapons Veron had crafted.

Eleshna gasped in a breath, feeling energy and warmth return like a wave from the seas, the force of which nearly knocking the breath from her, though it was still barely enough to pull her back.

She opened her eyes, though the light hurt, and turned her head towards Jaden. "Is it done?..." she asked, coughing heavily and swallowing the blood she choked up.

"I didn't see Lech.... I thought he had lost power along with the others..." she mumbled on, closing her eyes, "what was that about the other creature?...."

"He's dead." Jaden replied.

"Don't worry, you will all be safe now." his eyes slid closed as he fell to the ground.

"Jaden?..." Eleshna, still coughing with the effort, struggled to her knees beside Jaden. "Jaden.... I... please, you didn't have to do it...."

She slid her arm behind his shoulders and lifted him slightly, putting her other hand to his forhead, worry creasing her brow.

"Jaden?" She bit her lip and looked up at the healer who was still nearby, "Is there anything we can do for him... I mean... he will... recover, right?... but is there anything to help him?"

Knox came over to where the healer was inspecting Jaden.

"It's hard on somone to do this so much, he rest." Knox said.

"Lots of it! He shouldn't move much for another week or so. Give him theese, they should help.. besides that all we can do is wait." the healer told her in a surprised voice... surprised to see her up after what had just happened to her.
