Durga fell into stairing at the ceiling, waiting for the guards to come and escort her to the market. She soon became impatient and went to search for a slave to go to her father and demand her entourage. She went to find Deawen.
(sorry to use that phrase. I thought of something, though. If this is Bredena, wouldn't Deawen be a common name? Especially if it is the name of past rulers?)

( yes, it would actualy....good thinking! :) I am going to edit something though in my last post, Dea is from the north which means she shouldn't have a Bredenian name.)
Lord Ardol had suspected his daughters need to go to the market would not rest lightly so he had already had Tainar select five guards to go with his Daughter. each guard had already been trained to defend the family and they were all slaves part of Durga's dowery no doubt.

The guards arrived at her room, and her own personal bodyguard announced their arrival. "Fine," said Durga, "Let us depart." As they were heading for the main entrance of the house, Lord Ardol was heading towards them. "Durga, where is Deawen?" Durga's brow darkened, but her voice was light, "Father, I do not know. Is it my place to know the location of every petty slave we own?" Her father did not note the sarcasm. "She is your new handmaiden. I would expect you to know where she is." At this Durga choked, and was only able to say, "Then I shall summon her." She walked stiffly outside and yelled at a passing slave to summon Deawen.

The passing slave jumped with fright and dash away in hopes of finding Dea before Durga's wrath came down.

Meanwhile the Market normaly calm this time of day was buzzing with the Royal court gossip. . but very few knew exactly what was coming. Many believed it was the gondorains or the Rohirrim, those that did know (those present in the throne room) kept quiet as to what was coming in fear of being accused to treason and exucuted. however this did not stop them talking about the old man being arrested.
though someone somewhere slipped and told of what they heared in the court...The Elsent is coming
this of course was dismissed as an old wives tale, The elsent has been dead for 80 years. But a observant old fisherman's widow sat and listened to two younger women relay the lastest gossip they didn't beleive a word of the Elsent Returning, but the old woman looked around not far from her house a house once sheltered a man who lived alone he was always barefoot, but now the house was borded up, the old lady stood up and walked a block and a second house was abandoned.."odd where have the *Shang Dragons gone?" she asked her self.

*shang dragons helped build the city and became the Elsents bodyguards disbanded after the monarchy changed.

((Heey, I watched this a little while and decided to join ;) Don't understand the whole story of the Elsent though :P I'll just jump in if you don't mind. I'm too lazy to write a bio at the moment))

Firyal staggered when she was led to slave market and was bound to one of the pillars which supported the roof of the surrounding corridor. She softly shook her head, but the dizziness didn't disappear. It had been a long journey.. too long. Her dark eyes scanned boldly looked around at those who wanted to look at her as if she was another good were could be bargained about. Her red hair contrasted against the white pillar and Firyal bit her lip, her wrists and ankles hurt of the wounds the chains caused, but she shook her head to chase away that thought: she had endured worse.

((Don't know if that's a start, but you could jump in on that morwen.. ))

(don't worry if your character is not from Bredena the Elsent means very little until later. It just a factor of fear just a plot deal. I don't mean to be picky but I am glad that you are willing to join but can you change your character to already being to the Household? there are two markets to Bredena slave and Merchant and I think Durga plans to go to the Merchant market maybe as the first group of slaves brought to the house maybe? I am just getting tired of going back and forth trying to get everyone at the house. )

(Anyone can feel free to jump into the little entourage with Durga. It would make it more interesting.)

Durga went from stall to stall, looking for an even more ornate box. One old crone, a rather ratty and unkempt old woman, started to laugh hysterically when Durga entered the shop. Durga flared immediately and ordered her to be quiet. The old crone said, "Why should I listen to followers of the Userper line? WIth the Elsents returning, you'll be dead in a matter of months! Hahahahaha!" She cackled uncontrollably while her daughter tried to simultaneously silence her and apologize to Durga. "I'm sorry! She is just a crazy old woman! Pay her no heed," pleaded the woman, who obviously was desparate to make a sale. Durga swept out of the tent, leaving the piece she had been eyeing. She turned to the head guard and said, "We are going to the shops! No more of this bizarre bazaar!"
(Yay, hominyms!)

when the Slave told Dea of Durga Deawen nearly jumped out of her skin she dashed to the main gate forgetting the wool and spun thread. she followed the main party silently inside the ring of guards.
Dea's mind wandered over all the pieces of goods being sold there, but she was brought back by something that has never happened before someone just challenged Durga! unheard of! Dea listened intently noting the old crones words. "Why should I listen to followers of the Userper line? WIth the Elsents returning, you'll be dead in a matter of months!"
Dea picked outthe key word in this, Elsent.
she had heard of the Elsent when in the North but only as a fairytale. when she was brought to Bredena a new light was shed on the Elsent, her captors told her stories of how the Elsent could create fire without wood or oil, or how they ruled for three thousand years! but when she asked what happened to the Elsent no one told her exactly what happened they just said " well this new kingis definatly not an Elsent".
Dea always enjoyed the market the smells and the sights. color wasthe main avatar bright yellows and oranges reds of al shades. Lord Ardol always gave the slaves three copper coins to buy something at the market but Dea forgot hers. everystreet corner was a group of people either whispering or highpitched voices. this was not right...

(( Of course Deawen.. ;) Then I'll just skip to being there.. ehm.. working outside perhaps in the orchards. And I guess I already met you then))

From one of the high laddres in the orchards Firyal watched Durga and her guards leave for the market and then quickly got back to work. The atmosphere in the city had been very strange.. something was happening but she didn't know what. A bit insecure Firyal peeked over her shoulder where Dorgon, one of her masters was watching the slaves and she shivered. She had to watch out for him..

Durga's mind was racing. If the Elsent was returning, that would certainly incriminate the king and all those who had power in his government, and therefore incriminating the families of the government officials, thereby incriminating her. So, as is the choice of all humans, she chose not to believe it. I'll think about it later, she thought to herself, and pushed it to the back of her mind. She had found a lovely ebony box enamelled in bright colors with pearls around the edge. 7 gold pieces. She gave it to a guard, who purchased it for her and carried it in a basket to hide its value. "Brama, please give me the money bag." Brama was her personal body guard, and she was always a bit kinder to him because she knew he was in the position to kill her if he so wished. He handed over the bag, and she bent over to Padda and whispered, "Take a silver piece and find something you like." The little girl's eyes grew wide and she smiled and thanked her mistress before scampering to the back of the shop to look for toys. Durga laughed in spite of herself. She didn't know why she liked this girl so, but she favored her for it all the more, in front of all the other slaves. Durga's own investment, this girl had cost 7 gold pieces, the same as the box she had just purchased, and was therefore part of her estate, separate from her dowry. She knew that it might be helpful to have at least one loyal slave in the times to come, regardless if she was only 9 years old.

*Sen was about to reply, when the fellow slave came in looking for Deawen. She left with the slave, and though Sen was strangely saddened by her leaving, it provided the opportunity he needed. He sat down, and with a piece of straw plucked from the broom, he closed his eyes and began to draw. First a left turn, then another...*
Forgive me, lady Deawen, for our meeting will be short lived.
*He mumbled to himself, as he continued to draw...

Tainar stood in the shade watching Sen he wasn't upset or worried just curious, " always on her toes Dea is never has a moment to herself. " he said moving out of the shade in the sunlit courtyard. " I asked her once if she was being overworked and she looked up at me as if I had said taboo" he chuckled and picked up Dea's dropped work. " I saw those wounds on your back looks like you have been in quite a pickel."

Durga found Padda and they headed back to the estate. She was in a black humor when they reached her room. She set out the box and put the spilled cosmetics back into it. She was informed by a servant that she invited to the Palace the next day to vistit the princess (and covertly visit the crowned prince.) She dismissed the servant and decided to relax until dinner.

Dea was glad to be home, though she wasn't exactly happy to be stuck with Durga again but she was always quiet and obediant. though her spirits lifted when the servant told Durga she was going to the palace the next day. it was goo both ways if she didn't have to go she could work on her cloth and if she had to go she didn't have to do much. Dea sat near a window in Durga's chambers she found her spinning and continued her thread. she was Glad Durga was relaxing it might that later she might be ina better mood...just might.

Though it was just a formality, Durga wrote out a letter to the princess to accept her invitation. It would never occur for Durga not to go, for the princess was her best friend, and would soon be her sister-in-law.
Your Royal Majesty,
I am honored to attend tea with you tomorrow at the palace. I shall bring with me my guard and several slaves as my escort. I look forward to it most eagerly.
Regards,
Lady Durga Ardol, Daughter of Lord Ardol of Bredena, etc., etc...
