"Aye, milady, but at what cost? How many children of Illuvatar will fall in defiance of Morgoth before victory rests with us?"

"No one knows, my lord," Arwen replied. "We all fight for the greater good, do we not? One day a clear peace will reign." Certainty rang in her words. "You should not ask someone who questions also. Hope is our best weapon, and to that I hold."

Tuwaithion only nodded, and reined Fyrn in at thr bank of the Esgalduin "Be careful. The current is strong, and fast." he said, pulling out his bow and a rope. Tying the hithlain cord to the fletched end of the shaft, Turwaithion fired the arrow deep into a tree on the other side of the river, and looped the otherend around a branch on his own side. "The horses will be able to swim across. We will use the rope, and pull ourselves along." He said, graspind the rope, pulling himself, and inching across "Don't let go." he said, grinning slightly

Arwen took hold of the rope, and followed Turwaithion across the river. The water of the river was cold. She shook strands of her blonde hair from her eyes. "Where do we go to from here?" she enquired as they neared the riverbank.

"We will ride into Dimbar, and cross the Mindeb river. From there, we will cut near the Crisseagrim until we reach the Dry River. After we cross, we will ride to the Ered Wethrin, and cross into Dor-Lomin." Turwaithion said, puling himself onto the bank and helping Arwen up

"Thank you." Arwen smiled, steadying herself. She looked around. "Will this be a journey that requires me to go on horseback as everyone else does?" she added. "I did not think it necessary to bring one, I am swift on foot."

"A steed would serve for quicker travel, true, but in battle you have the advantege againts the common orc. With a bow, guerilla tactics are very effective. Aye milady, you will need a horse once we reach Hithlum, if only to help in battle. Personally, I find having a life besides my own to fight for gives me more motivation in a fight."

Arwen nodded. "We should be able to purchase one, if we pass a a marketplace," she said. She smiled. "You will find, my lord, that I stick to my ways; having lived in a forest much of my life, hunting orcs and sitting in trees. A horse will be useful."

Turwaithion nodded "Be wary. There are many who would sell a horse who has seen too many years at the plow for too high a price. Use Fyrn as a guideline as to what to watch for in a good horse." he cautioned, taking the mare's reins and swinging into the saddle

Arwen nodded, smiling. "I may be a forest elf, but I am not soft-minded. I can tell a good horse from a bad one."

Turwaithion chuckled "Excellent. Come, we are not in Dimbar yet. the Neldoreth awaits." he said, digging his heels into Fyrn's ribs

Arwen set off in a run, following Turwaithion's horse. She ran as fast as the horse itself, in a blur of blue and green material and pale hair. She did not seem tired at all from the part of the journey she had thus far travelled on foot.

"You have amazing endurance, milady." Turwaithion said, grinning "How long have you guarded these lands? You are barely of age."

"Thank you," Arwen replied. "I have been a guard of the boarders of Doriath for some decades now. I cannot recall the exact number of years." She smiled, laughing shortly.

Turwaithion shook his head in disbelief "You astound me, milady. Do you have any kin, that you would stay in safety before you came of age?"

"I have few kin," Arwen said. "But I decided to put my skills with a bow and quick movement on foot into good use at a young age, I admit. Those who can help and give service to their rhealm should do so."
