Eleshna held back a cry as she was grabbed. Her usual instincts would tell her till kill a captor without thought, but she calmed herself when she realized it was only Jaden.

She looked over and was able to make out the shape of Azher and the creature battling. "Will he be alright?..." Eleshna questioned worriedly.

"He can escape almoste anything." Jaden said to assure himself more than her. His mind, however, was not so sure and worried about his friend as they rode off into the night.

(Um, I do not wish to be rude, but do you realise that Morwen, Deawen and my person shall not be returning to this post? I thought you might have been laboring on in some false hope that one day we would return. Such a day will ne'er come.)

Eleshna shifted to turn and glance behind them for a moment. The wind still hadn't died down, and it whipped across the lands furiously.

Hi head kept turning, looking back for Azher to be following along behind them... but he wasn't there.

Jaden prayed that he would be alright.

"Stop!" Eleshna called out suddenly as she half leapt, half tumbled off the horse. She took off in a sprint towards the side of a small cliff in a hill.

Unsheathing her sword she stopped at the rock and struck it, the blade shimmering silver in the pitch black night.

The sound of the blade hitting the rock created a ringing echo, clinging to the air for a while, and it then died down to a murmur in the wind.

Eleshna sat on a rock as though waiting, her sword resting across her knees.

Jaden hurried over to see what was going on, a bit confused.

"What?" he asked her.

"shhh..." Eleshna put a finger to her lips as she closed her eyes and motioned for him to sit down.

She proceeded to whisper a reply. "The Shadows will be coming, but not those of Veron.... those controled with the sword I wield. Then they in turn will lead us to Veron's Shadows and to Lech..."

She kept still, as the wind began to die down into an unsettling silence, a fog drifting in over the land.

Jaden moved over at sat beside her on the rock. "And then?" he asked her, unsure of how they were going to go about seeing if Lech had this amulet.

"And then..." Eleshna hesitated. "And then I'll make Lech visible, using my sword... then we'll be able to see if he has the stone..."

"Only how do we find him?" he asked. "He could be anywhere."

"That is why I need my Shadows," Eleshna replied. "They will lead us to the others..."

Suddenly through the mist came several figures, much like the ones they had encountered when challenging Veron, but these kept their distance and looked subdued.

Eleshna stood and spoke to the apparent leader of them in a strange whisper-like language. The leader nodded and started off through the mist, Eleshna walking beside him as the fog cleared in their wake.

Eleshna motioned for Jaden to follow beside her, as she explained in a low voice. "This is Mehlor... and these are other, nameless ones, but as with the others, do not anger them in any way, for they would kill you without second thought and I cannot stop them unless it be with my sword and force...." Her voice trailed off as she gazed ahead, the shadows following in silence.

Jaden nodded as he moved up beside her. Looking around he took int he sights.

He lead Syndar close behind him as they continued onwards.

Suddenly Mehlor stopped, turning his shadowy head towards the dawning horizon as wind carried the mists away.

With a point of a whispy hand, he directed the other Shadows towards their right as he too turned, while pointing out to Eleshna something her own elven eyes could just barely see.

A shimmering line had begun to creep along the horizon, not that of the sun, but of the other Shadows making their way across like a line of fog.

"What is it?" Jaden asked her as he noticed her attention being diverted with Mehlor's motioning.

"It is the movement of the other Shadows... " Eleshna replied tensely. "It will be touchy getting close to them.... let alone me being able to reach Lech to do enough damage to make his features visible enough..."

She kept her eyes focused on the fog like line as they moved closer. The fog seemed to turn, cominging towards them head on.
