Aryth gave her a sign to hush, and nodded gravely. "Why would we not?" She asked Shamira, giving her a blood-thristy grin. Then, out of the corner of her mouth, Aryth said to Angil, "Just stick with me, kid."

"Oh aye, I asked myself that as well." said Shamíra, glaring at Angil. "We are short on time. I would hate to think of Sauron's wrath if we were not prepared by the time that the fool-men arrived." Voice terse, she rode off to instruct her squadron.

Deawen settled her fear and guided her horse onto a boat the stallion trained to stand perfectly still on boats lived up to his honor even as Deawen dismounted and stood by his arched neck. she was paler and more strained then ever before she looked like at anygiven moment she was going to lose it. Her hands were tucked under the great folds of her cloak but it was still visible that she fidgited though she tried to appear calm. SHe tried to think of the battle ahead how the others would finaly get to see what she was really capable of...

Shamíra grinned evilly. "Ah. Fear," she said, smelling deeply. "There is no scent like it." The orcs around her chuckled in agreement.

Angil nodded at Aryth, and preferred to remain silent, looking around her with attention..

Helcano who had remained silent during the last part of the journey, was now trying to build up a plan how he would act when the boats arrived to the other side.
He tried to see beyond the river, but the only thing visable was the tiny fires from the torches ahead.
"Fools! They don't know what will hit them..."
Suldal walked slowly on to the boat and positioned himself to the right in the boat.
Helcano dismounted to the left of Suldal and was now walking forward to get a good position to fire off an arrow or two before chaos would ensue around them.
The Black Numenorian crouched down and placed his sword on the ground.
He chanted ancient words in Quenya and Black Speech. As the words came to his mouth, the hand carrying the sapphire ring was starting to whiten and the jewell started to look increasingly more icy.
The nearby people was suddenly feeling cold, like a sudden wind of cold air had just surrounded them.
Helcano reached for his sword, an heirloom from the ancient days of Numenor, and placed his hand on the hilt.
The man stood up and walked towards the water, he touched the water with the sword and the cold water reacted to the pressence of the sword by creating a thin layer of ice around the blade of the sword.
Smaller ice layers where breaking up as the sword was lifted from the water.
Helcano stopped his chant and the chill around him was starting to wear off on the people around him.
He placed the sword back in it's scabbard and drew his bow instead.
Several of the affected orcs had walked a bit further away from the stranger in their boat.

(OOC rant: The ring is a magical ring, but since Helcano is just a human, he can't do much more than affect the people near him and freeze the surface of stone or water near the area he touches. He can't freeze people or make the entire Gondorian army feel cold.
If any of the elves had the ring they could probably do more with the ring than him.)

Nia rode up silently next to the rest, silent, as she will be for possibly, the rest of the day.

Deawen who happened to be in the same boat as Helcano she watched warily when the air went cold Deawen instinctivly reached for a dagger and the side of the boat. seeing no harm came of his trick she let go of the hilt and tentivly walked towards him not trusting her balance she touched his shoulder lightly so not to startle him. she stood close to him so her voice would not have to be loud. " that is a very interesting trick but turning a river to ice will get us no where......but none the less a very interesting trick.." as she whispered she noted the flickering torches on the other side they were too visible " you must help me with this trick I wish to show you...the air is not cold enough for me to make a mist around us...make the air cold again and I shall do the rest" she demostrated with the water close to the boat a fragile and scattered mist formed then faded before becoming a true veil. " will you help?" she asked in a faint whisper

Shamíra felt a distant ripple of cool. The Gondorian soldiers drew nearer, the manes and tails of their mounts flapping as a flag in the wind. "Prepare arrows," she said loudly to the orcs. She drew her blade.

Amarthiel had boarded a boat, leading her steed on as well. Mid-way through the journey she glared at the orcs from where she sat, annoyed by their slow pace and she bit her lip to keep silence a retort. Staring ahead, she remained silent for the rest of the journey, anxious to spill the blood of mortal men.

As the men drew within the range of the orc arrows, she gave the signal to fire. A rain of arrows fell upon them, the lives of many finished with a scream of agony. She grinned, a rush running through her veins. "Prepare a second volley."

As the boats drew nearer to the shore, Angil prepared an arrow on her bow. "looks like we're going to kill someone" she said with a cold smile on her face to Aryth, who happened to be next to her.

Helcano made a small movement as he felt a hand on his shoulder.
His first thought was that an orc was trying something, but as he heard that it was Deawen he relaxed and listened to her words.
When she showed him the mist she could create, he nodded and said:
"Good idea"
Helcano started to chant again. He felt the hand getting colder again and noticed that his bow got a soft surface of ice around it.
The air became increasingly cold as the chant continued.

Aryth grinned, taking a deep breath. She looked at Angil, and said simply, grinning a blood-thristy grin, "Welcome to the Dark Lord's army, Angil." She then drew her bow and prepared to fire, awaiting command.

Pleased with his willingness to help she smiled pulling her hand up a stream of mist formed on the water below. the mist grew as the air grew colder, disguising their numbers. after awhile Deawen let the mist take it's course as she felt the boat grate against the gravel of the shore. she gave a small but filled with joy cry. She hated water and avoided it when she could. she did not leap out as expected she held back noting the quiet shore she expected some resistance to thier invasion. " something is not right" she commented to Helcano.
