"Which one, Lessien? The Misty Mountains are vast," Aralas replied when they finally stopped to rest. Merry and Pippin were learning a bit of sword fighting from Boromir. "Move your feet!" Aragorn suggested. Suddenly, Boromir accidentally cut Pippin's hand and they started wrestling. Anariel looked at Aralas and they both laughed. "For the Shire!" Anariel heard them shout. Aragorn stepped forward to break up the fight. "Gentlemen, that's enough," he said. Sam stood up. "What's that?" "Nothing, just a wisp of cloud," Gimli said. "It's moving fast...and against the wind," Boromir said. Aralas stood next to her brother to look at it. She saw birds. Black birds. She and her brother exchanged glances. "Crebain from Dunland!" he yelled. "Hide!" she heard someone yell, probably Aragorn, as they hid among the rocks.

"We must take the pass of the Caradhras!" Aralas looked at Legolas, unsure. "The mountains? Come on," she said to Anariel. "Well, if Gandalf says it's safe, then we should go and follow," Anariel replied. She got her pack and tossed Aralas' pack to her. "Come on," Anariel said, slinging her pack on her shoulder.

The snow was deep. Frodo stumbled, fell and rolled down. Aragorn, who was standing at the back, caught him. Anariel saw something gleam in the snow. She ran to it. Boromir picked it up first and held it up. The Ring. "Boromir!" she yelled, half-scared, half-worried. "It is a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt over so small a thing...such a little thing," he said, as if in a trance. "Stop it! Give it to Frodo!" Anariel yelled, just before her cousin touched It. "Give the Ring to Frodo," Aragorn said. "As you wish, I care not," Boromir said. Anariel saw Aragorn's hand move away from his sword hilt. No, she thought. I will not let my cousin get close to it. Never again, she vowed.

It soon started to snow very heavily. "It's getting chilly," Aralas said, turning back. Legolas and Aralas were somewhere near the front, since they were elves and light footed. "Are you kidding? It's FREEZING!" Merry said, teeth chattering. The wind carried a voice. "There's a fell voice on the air!" Legolas yelled. "It's Saruman!" Gandalf answered. Rocks broke away from the mountain and came crashing down, but narrowly missed them. "He's trying to bring down the mountain! Gandalf, we must turn back!" Aragorn shouted. Legolas looked at his sister worriedly. Aralas ran to the hobbits and held out her warm hands for them. "Warm up a bit," she said.

Anabel joined Lessien wordlessly and also helped the hobbits. Guilty thoughts filled her mind of the time when she was helping Mordor.

Boromir yelled against the howling wind. "We must get off the mountain! Make for the Gap of Rohan and take the west road to my city!" Anariel looked at her cousin, shocked. "No!" she yelled. "The Gap of Rohan takes us too close to Isengard!" Aragorn said. "If we cannot pass over the mountain, let us go under it! Let us go through the Mines of Moria," Gimli suggested. Gandalf stood thinking for a bit. "Let the Ringbearer decide," he said finally. "We cannot stay here! This will be the death of the hobbits!" Boromir shouted. "Frodo?" Gandalf said. "We will go through the Mines," Frodo said. Legolas motioned for his sister to come close and Aralas stepped closer to him. "So be it," Gandalf said. Aralas could see a bit of worry in his eyes. "I don't think this will get better," Aralas whispered to her friends and brother, "I have a bad feeling about this."

Lessien was not excited to go to Moria. She was an Elf and did not enjoy stone and lonely ugly things. She loved Mithril though and wondered if Moria still had mithril."Gimli! Is there any more Mithril in Moria?"
