Vasa couldn't resist a slash at the warg whose gaze was fixed intently on Meleth. She slashed it open a bit more, leaving it for Meleth to finish off.

Meleth nodded. "Beautiful." She moved backward, as now the full force came on, and waited until they were relatively close before shouting a ommand to her warriors. Eleven orcs fell, either dead or nearly, and Meleth glanced behind her to see why it hadn't been twelve.

midira stepped through the trees silently she moved away from her companions wishing only to be far from the fightig. but she had other buissness to attend too.

Vasa whipped out her bow and quickly shot the warg who was laring around to try and get rid of Elegost. The warg cried out and Vasa fired another arrow, piercing it's chest.

"Elegost, I would not have hit you and I'm unsulted that you would even think, for a second, that I would have." Vasa replied, replacing her bow and going to the warg to examine her arrows to see whether they could be re-used.

"Aye, have you no better opinion of elven archery than that?" queried Meleth, who knelt in concern next to the fallen warrior. She looked up at Elegost. "I fear there's nothing we can do for him. He - " she hesitated, and looked back down. The elven warrior's eyes were glazed and his chest no longer rose and fell, however faintly. Meleth bowed her head, murmuring in elvish, and stood up. "Let's be off before more come."

"Are you sure? I could take a look for you..." Vasa began but then saw that the warrior's chest no longer made any movement and left it at that.
"We need to find somewhere safe to rest. Do you know of anywhere Elegost?" She asked.

"As you very well know," said Meleth, "I've never set foot here before. Therefore, I believe that is our best option, for lack of any other." She glanced around. "Though we will need to venture a ways into the ruin, it's not enclosed enough here."

Meleth shook her head. "Never had much reason to." She slid her second knife into its sheath with a slight hiss. "Any particular reason you'd like to know?"

"I'm sure nothing like that will happen and if it does then we'll face it when we get there." Vasa replied, sighing.

"Indeed," said Meleth. "It's not as though we're lacking in things to worry about, is it?" she stood and began to collect arrows from orc and warg carcasses. "I didn't anticipate meeting with so much resistance in such a small amount of time."

Vasa got up and walked away from the camp a little, lost in her own thoughts. She stood for a while, just listening and watching before returning to camp and sitting on a damp log to begin her watch.

Meleth tucked the salvaged arrows into her quiver and paused to put that and her bow within arm's reach before rolling herself in her cloak and falling into a light sleep, as was her habit when travelling. The expression she usually wore, an unsmiling seriousness like a brick wall, melted away and she looked almost lighthearted - pretty, even.
