Okay, I was thinking we don't really have many (if any) stories set in The Silmarillion, so we need some. I'll be forming some more plot ideas over the next day or so, but in short:
This RPG is about a group of fugitive Elves fleeing from Gondolin (and maybe some humans they meet on the way) who got separated from the main body, which Tuor and Idril led. This RPG is probably going to have a definitive end, when they reach the Mouths of Sirion by the Bay of Balar, just fyi, if it lasts that long. However, there's a lot of room for plotlines during the journey, so....most anything would be exceptable, as long as it's not like, destroying an orc army or killing a Balrog/dragon (Morgoth would definately have noticed that).
Okay, the rules:
1. Nothing that goes against what Tolkien's written. No breaking the canon.
2. No playing as someone else's character without their permission.
3. No playing as the bad guys (one of my pet peeves)
4. Please don't use more than two characters.....it's a lot easier to write longer (well, more in-depth) posts if you have only a few.
5. Have fun!
[NOTE] The Elves of Gondolin would have used swords like Glamdring, not like their swords in the movie.
Name: Sirithadar
Race (Noldor, Sindarin, Silvan, etc.): Noldor
Age: 4,290
Hair color: Black
Eye color: green
Height: Tall.
Weapon(s): Two-handed sword (like Glamdring, roughly), a bow/arrows, and a white shield (they are fleeing from a battle, after all).
Background: Sirithadar was born in Valinor during the ages in which Morgoth was imprisoned. An exception to the normal style of his people, he preferred to spend time among the birds and beasts of Aman instead of spending it in a smithy or somewhere else. When Morgoth darkened the Trees and fled Valinor, Sirithadar, who was numbered among the house of Fingolfin, left with the Noldor, living in Vinyamar during Turgon's sojourn there, staying with him to Gondolin. He embraced weapons more readily than most, and as such is a better swordsman than most, though he is only an average archer.

W00t, there haven't been many new RPs here in a while! I need to read up on the escape from Gondolin to see if I should tweak my character a little, but save me a spot

'Kay, I reread the Gondolin chapter in the Sil, and I'm good except I'm wondering a couple things - you'll be wanting an equal ratio of males to females, correct? And maybe some kids too? (Hmmm, only two characters. I shall have to choose wisely )

There don't have to be any kids, Meldawen....afterall, this is only one group of refugees.
Sure you can join, Erana! And a place is reserved for you too, Turwaithiel.
I have to go now (mom's orders) but maybe tommorrow or so we can start, if you guys could get bios up. Thanks!

They have to be Elves I suppose... Wow, I just realized I've never played an elf before!
Here's my character:
Name: Erana
Race: Elf (Noldor)
Gender: Female
Age: 2.317
Appaerance: Tall and slender figure, long, dark hair which is a little curly, greyish blue eyes
Weapon: Sword (looks much like Arwen's sword Hadhafang), daggers
History: Born and raised in Valinor. Her father was a Noldor elf while her mother was one of the Teleri. She always has been loyal to Turgon and so she followed him to Beleriand after Morgoth's attack on the two trees and the theft of the Silmarilli.

'Kay, here's one character for now. I'm pretty busy, but I may add in another.
Name: Atalante Mithivrin
Race: Noldor
Gender: Female
Age: 350 (rather young)
Hair: Dark brown, smooth and wavy. Not very long, but enough to reach past her shoulders.
Eyes: Brown, quite large.
Facial appearance: Quite pale naturally, with a small straight nose and high cheekbones. Gives the impression of delicacy.
Other appearance: Very slender and not strong.
Personality: Insecure, but gentle and kind. Can be shy and is not very brave.
History: Born and raised in Gondolin.

I'd love to join! My own Gondolin RPG died in childbirth... Shame, this is one of my favorite topics (see profile).
I was wondering if Tuor was off-limits. My one character is of a much later time and I don't want to make a great, anachronistic character transplant. And I should mention that I probably won't have much occasion to post ('rents cracking down )
It's good to see you again, Dea. It's been too long

(And as an OOC, I'd like to point out that Quenya nouns are plural if they end in "i" or "r". If the singular noun ends with a vowel, the plural ending is "r". Thus, "a Noldor" is incorrect; it should be "a Noldo" or "those Noldor". The singular Quenya form of "wizard" is "Istar"; the plural "Istari". I apologise to Aerandir for hijacking this post for my linguistic tirade.)

Lol, I generally use 'Noldorin' for the plural.
Welcome, everyone! If you want to join, Deawen, then please do....the more players the better.
...Just a small note, Meldawen - you might need to lower the age some, because Gondolin was destroyed after only 384 years of existence....^_^
Sorry, Artinwe - I have to say, Tuor's off limits - he was leading the main body of refugees, and we're a separate branch. There wouldn't be near as much fun if we were with a really big group.
