Post subject:  A new shadow in the north
*A dwarf runs into the courtyard of the White City.*
O Lord Elessar! I am a messenger of Thorin Stonehelm, King under the mountain and come with bad news! We are under siege of an evil power! After we send dwarves to rebuild the White City a shadow seemed to have fallen upon our realm. Our fortunes changed, we lost dwarves in the wild, transports were ambushed and a nameless dread falls on our people lately! We were attacked by numerous orcs and were defeated for we were unwary. Now our people is shut in the Mountain. They will be able to hold the mountain for long but we don't know what new horror might be rising. I escaped through a secret door to bring you the news and ask for your help. Though we are not under your protection I beg you to help us for we have always been friends.

*Aragorn smiles*
I will not let our friends down. Be comforted. But since I do not know the actual threat that you tell of I have to think about the next steps well. Now eat and drink and refresh yourself while I will hold counsil.
*Dwarf looks relieved and leaves*

*Aragorn turns to his counsellors who stand nearby. A dicussion follows*
-Now my friends let us take counsil what is the best to answer the new peril in the north.
-I think we should send a group of our soldiers to find out what exactly is the danger.
-I agree but we should hurry for we don't know how long the dwarves will be able to stand.
-But our troops have not yet returned from the battle in Harad.
-Aragorn: You are right my friends. I will send out a group of the best of Minas Tirith. Though our soldiers have indeed not yet come back from the victorious battle in the south time presses. We must ask our allies, the free peoples of Middle-Earth for aid. It is decided then.
*next day the dwarf messenger sets out to bring the news to his people again. Aragorn assembles a scout party of willing soldiers to find out what the new threat is. The preparations last some days and group members must be found quickly...*






Everyone is allowed to come here. All new ideas will be welcome, even stuff like lovestories ;-)

I have to accept them before you can post and i would appreciate if we had many different Races. The number of members is however limited to 9. Otherwise it'll get confusing. So if you wanna join, hurry up!

Lostariel wanders around in the White City, her eyes widen as she sees the people, the buildings and as the beauty of this old fortress catches up to her. She hides behind a huge stone as some soldiers walk down the narrow street. She hears them talk about the "mission". She follows them, trying to listen to their conversation, trying to find out what is happening. As she understands she steps out of the shadows and says with a loud voice "I will help you. If you need more soldiers." She stands there, her hands shaking slightly, and looks at the soldiers, waiting for their answer.

One of the soldiers turned out to be Airemelero, the first member of the scout party. He looked in her eyes, mustered her and then said: "We indeed look for soldiers to fulfill the secret task that is appointed to us but it is not ours to decide it. I will lead you to Lord Elessar. He will decide whether you are to be sent with us."

*They both go to king Elessar who after a short debate agrees the newcomer to join the fellowship*

Wile they were debating Raelyn was standing with her Father whom she called ada most of the time. she listened to the debate and relized there was some secret mission going on. after the women was accepcted into the mission. Raelyn turned to her father. "ada...there is another war?" she asked concerned.

((i'll play Aragorn right now))

King Elessar looked down at him daughter. "yes, there is, in moria. we need soldiers for a secret mission. there are not that many qualifyed." he said sighing.
Raelyn had gone on a dangorous mission before..she almost got killed. but the mission was a sucess. "ada...may i go? i'm skilled with these types of things."
Aragorn rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Raelyn you almost got killed last time i let you do something like this." he said
Raelyn gave her father the sad puppy look that always worked when she wanted something. there were some advantages to being the youngest.
"oh Raelyn don't give me that look." he pleeded.
Aragorn looked at Airemelero. "Can Raelyn go on another mission with you?" he asked. the last mission Raelyn went on was with Airemelelo and his men. King Elessar would have never let his youngest daughter do things like this if he didn't trust her. and if she wasn't skilled with both bow and sword. but she was very skilled.

(I think you misunderstood something there :) Erebor(The lonely mountain) is near mirkwood and east of the misty mountains. It is the kingdom of the son of dain ironfoot, Thorin Stonehelm)

Airemelero was torn in two. He had ever been really fond of Lady Raelyn and knew her skills but he also knew that her father loved her dearly and couldn't have borne to lose her.
At last he said: I will protect her with my own life if I must. Let her go with us for we need her. We have no choice but to trust in her abilities. Also it was not her fault that she was in danger. I should have been on my guard and I should have kept her from wandering alone in the wild.

Thus it was that Lord Elessar permitted his youngest daughter to join the fellowship for all his other children were not available and time pressed.

Lostariel stood in a corner, watching and listening carefully, her interest in the mission growing with each second she lurked in the shadows.

After Raelyn had joined the Fellowship she stepped out of the corner and looked around, then sneaked up behind Airemelero and Raelyn and whispered: "When will our... little adventure start?" She smirked and raised a brow, waiting for an answer and wanting to leave the White City.

Airemelero smiled about the eagerness he saw in Lostariels eyes. He remembered well that he had been like that. For a second he said nothing, sunk in memory but at last he said: We have not yet found enough soldiers to attempt out quest. We will hardly overcome the shadow in the north with a company of three.

Lostariel looked to the door nervously and sighed. "How long will this take? And how many soldiers will we need?" She looked at them again, her wish to go away burning in her dark eyes, then she whispered again: "If this "shadow" you talked about is really that evil, we probably shouldn't wait too long, should we?"

"lostariel is right. do you think the dwarves will have some people ready as well?" she asked she knew Airemeleo wasn't too fond of her, but she didn't mind it. he was just going to have to put up with her for the time being.

The dwarves are a valiant folk but they are currently shut in the Lonely mountain. We won't be able to end the siege with just four of us (for Elenriel Greenleaf will join us in mirkwood). Only if we don't find enough willing men within the next days we will set out and hope that we will find help on the way.

After a few days had passed Aragorn summoned the party.
"The time for you to set out has come at last. We cannot wait for others to come for time presses so you must look for help on the way.
Your quest is to end the siege of the lonely mountain, to find out about the peril that has befallen them and if you are capable of it destroy it. Secrecy is as important as loyalty to your companions. Only if you stand and fight side by side you will be successful."

With these words he didmissed the travellers and they departed from the white city.
