The War of the Ring is over, and the Fourth Age of Middle Earth has begun. Gondor now has a king, and is allied with the country of Rohan - the race of Men now stands united under one banner. The Elves are leaving Middle Earth for the Grey Havens; their time is now over. A reigning peace has begun; there are no more battles, no more struggles - people are now going back to their normal lives. But how will the people of Middle Earth manage now that there is nothing to fight against? This is their tale. A Reigning Peace does not tell the story of the characters that we all know about: kings, stewards - but the characters that we do not yet know about.

So, this is an RPG set just after the end of the War of the Ring. There will be no canon characters, but just our own ones, and there will be no battles or a new evil rising - I know this might not sound very interesting, but I think it would be good to give it a try, to really give the story a sense of a lasting peace and how people cope with it. Post your character bios and I'll add them to the list. But first, here is my character; I'm using my signature one, Goldleaf - anyone who RPed with her in the RPG Saga of Ithilien and are using the same character as you did there, can you continue the storyline of them knowing each other? :)

Name: Goldleaf
Race: Human
Age: 19
Appearance: Long, golden hair, pale skin, tall of stature and fair of face, with bright blue eyes
Personality: Kind-hearted, intelligent, determined
Background: Goldleaf is a Gondorian, originally from Osgiliath. She fell in love with Boromir of Gondor on the walls of Minas Tirith, but he rejected her, knowing in his heart that he could not be a good husband to her if war was always calling him back. Soon after this, there was an attack on Osgiliath and she fled to Ithilien, believing all her family to be dead. Having nothing to go back home to, she stayed there for two years, aiding the Rangers of Ithilien led by Boromir's brother Captain Faramir when she could, fighting the Haradrim and orcs that wandered into those lands. But she met a group of travellers one day, and they decided to travel together to Osgiliath and onwards to Minas Tirith to help with the war effort. Goldleaf fought bravely in the siege there. Now the War of the Ring has ended, Goldleaf must try to get on with the life she left behind in Osgiliath.

-CHARACTER BIOS-
Goldleaf - ~Goldleaf~
Adrianna - Lasbelingur

-RULES-
- RP in story form
- Have fun!

~~~
The city of Osgiliath was unusually noisy today. People were returning there after the war, to try and make it the thriving place it had once been before it became a target of Mordor. The streets were filled with white-stone rubble, but there were groups of people trying to heave them up and carry them away. Osgiliath was going to be rebuilt.
Goldleaf dismounted her white horse, which had been lent to her by someone from Minas Tirith, where she was just returning from. She took the reigns and led it down the bustling streets. Her old house was just round the corner.
She looked around at the familar surroundings, her bright blue eyes filled with optimism and hope. She was dressed in a plain blue dress, her sheathed sword strapped around her waist. She gave the reigns of her horse a gentle tug and it went left, leading down a small lane towards her small white house.
She stopped and gave a small sigh. It was time to get back to life again now that there was no war to fight. But would that be more difficult than it sounded? She smiled and led the horse towards the small stableyard next to the house.
I'll join, Goldleaf.
Bio:
Name: Adrianna
Age: 162
Gender: Female
Race: Half-Elf
Appearance:
History: She fought in the last battle, she heard Aragorn's speech. She saw Sauron fall. Now it was time for her to live in peace. She wasn't sure she could manage it, but she had to try. She met her love (a human named Tyrell) just before the last battle. She met with him after the war was ended, and they got married. They now live in Osgiliath, but are planning to move to Mordor, so they could set up their new home there and help bring to a livable state.
Can my chari know yours? If not "hit me on the head with a rubber chicken and say no." as Nauriel would say :)
Adrianna led her horse down the small, stone-paved street. She smiled as she saw Goldleaf walking towards her stables. She jogged to catch up.
"I was looking for you." she said, arriving at Goldleaf's side. She looked around, "It's strange not having to have my hand on this all the time," she said while reaching and fingering the end of the twin blades strapped to her back.
(Sure they can know each other, Lasbelingur! :) )
Goldleaf smiled as Adrianna caught up with her. She let go of the reigns of her horse, and the white mare cantered into the stables neatly. She closed the stable gate. "Peacetime will be strange," she said, with a small laugh. "Do you want to come inside?"
"Yes please." Adrianna said. "I'm tired from my journey. I came from Rohan. King Eomer has granted me this beautiful beast." she said guestering to the white horse she was leading. "Eomer named him Theodred, in memory of his cousin (I think he was his cousin...)."
Goldleaf opened the door of the house and looked inside. It was empty, with dust hanging in the air. The walls were still bright white, the table in the hall was still there, and the chairs; it was just as she remembered it when it had been filled with her family. She looked round and smiled at Adrianna. "Come in," she said. Tucking back strands of her golden hair behind her ears, she walked into the building. "So what brought you to Rohan, so soon after the war?"
"Tyrell traveled with the King from Minas Tirith to Rohan, for he wanted to say goodbye to King Theoden for a final time, and I went with him to pay my respects to him also." a faraway look covered her eyes. "It is so sad that so much time was taken from him, and us, by Saruman." she shook her head, she came back to reality. "Anyway, I don't know if you've heard, but Tyrell and I are moving to the land that was evil, but shall now be good (she didn't want to say Mordor)."
She sat down in one of the chairs. "He is determined to build us a grand home." she smiled, "He wants everything to be perfect for me." her eyes grew sad.
"I only wish I could visit the sea. To hear the birds calling. I will be so far away from it." she smiled half-heartedly. "I'm sure I bore you by me talking so much, I'm not usually like this. Tell me your plans."
"I see." Goldleaf unshouldered her cotton bag and placed it on the table. She looked around at the dusty room and sighed, then her gaze turned back to Adrianna.
"You are moving to Mordor?" Goldleaf had never been afraid to say the name, whereas other Gondorians like herself had always referred to it as "the threat that lies yonder". She raised her eyebrows. "Well, if what I hear is true, it shall be turned into a noble dwelling. In time." She put significance into her last words; she was sure that it would take centuries at least to turn so evil a land into one of good. "Well, good luck to you. I have no plans other than to rebuild my life here... as best I can."
Adrianna smiled, "Have you met anyone? Or are you going to stay an old maid for the rest of your life?" She loved joking around with Goldleaf.
She turned serious again. "Anyway," she said, "We're moving in three days, we're taking only with us the things that we have to have for us to survive for a week or two."
Goldleaf smiled tightly. "I haven't met anyone," she confessed. And she didn't particularly want to either. For her, her love would always be for Boromir, though she knew that she should move on. She pulled up a seat and sat next to Adrianna. "But remember, there is the life of an old maid, and then there is simply the life of someone who lives alone but is still happy."
Her smile softened a little and she folded her arms on the table. "Where will you stay? Surely there are no taverns or inns in Mordor." Her tone took on a joking edge.
(( Does Adrianna know that Goldleaf loves Boromir?))
"We will manage." Adrianna said, smiling, "A half-elf could survive on her own in Mordor. A human and a half-elf will be fine." she looked slightly guilty. "I was hoping you would come with us and stay with us for a couple weeks." she looked at Goldleaf hopefully. "I will be lonely, we'll be the first ones there. You don't have to, you know. You can stay here, all alone, all by yourself." she said with a playful smile. "With loneliness closing in, and you would be all by yourself..."
(No, she doesn't)
Goldleaf laughed slightly and looked at Adrianna with a dry smile. "I am quite sure I'll be fine by myself here," she assured her. "I wouldn't want to intrude on you two either. And Adrianna." She paused significantly. "I have lived alone for many years now. I think I shall manage here."
((Okie Dokie))
"I know you'll be fine by yourself, I just want you to be as happy as I am." Adrianna smiled. She stood up. "I'd better leave now, I need to get back to Tyrell." she embraced her friend. "It's good to see you again. " she held her at arm's length and loked her in the eye. "Anytime you feel like coming over, you do just that. You don't even need to tell me you're coming." she hugged her again, "I'll miss you." with that she turned and walked to the stables.
Theodred stood there ready to leave. She nimbly jumped onto his bare back and urged him into a trot down the narrow street.
(Got your PM, teehee!)
Goldleaf watched as Adrianna's horse trotted down the streets. She waved then turned back towards her small house, which seemed so empty now. Still, she would have to get back to life there, after two long years dwelling in Ithilien, chatting with travellers, hunting for food. She stepped through the doorway and and closed the door, looking around the room.
Adrianna kept Theodred troting through the streets of Osgiliath until she came to a small inn. She dismounted then led him to the small stables behind the inn. After getting him settled she went through the back door. She walked through the kitchens (which is what the back door led to) to the common room. From there she walked down the hallway until she came to her room. She opened the door.
"Hello there." Tyrell said, looking up. "How is Goldleaf doing?"
"She's doing good." Adrianna sat down on the bed. "I'm going to take a nap." with that she layed down and fell asleep.
Goldleaf sat down again. This house, that had once been so full of life and voices, was now empty. Maybe Adrianna was right, maybe she would turn into an old maid. She cast the thought away from her mind. She had wanted this. Her old life. But after so long in the wild of Ithilien, how could she manage it? This was her old life without her family. Without Boromir. It was very quiet in the small room as she contemplated all of this.
((If you don't want to skip to the next day, tell me, and I'll change the post))
Adrianna opened her eyes, blinking in the sunlight. She slowly sat up. The room was empty. She yawned and stretched her arms. She stood up and looked out the large window. The streets of Osgiliath were swarming with life.
She picked up her sword from where Tyrell must have taken it and out it during the night. She walked out the door and closed it behind her. She went down the hallway, and into the common room. She saw Tyrell sitting at a table, finishing his breakfast.
"Are you ready?" he asked, she nodded, "Good, I packed your breakfast." he handed her a small haversack. "Let's get going then."
They walked to the stables. Adrianna put Theodred's rope halter on him. She led him out into the street, and mounted him. She waited for Tyrell, then they began started walking their horses east.
