Turwaithion didn't have a reply for that, so he extended a hand for Arwen to mount up instead.

Arwen took his hand and pulled herself up onto the horse. She clung tight onto the saddle and was silent. She had not spoken to anyone of her brothers for years; the pain had been so very acute for a very long time. It was forty years ago or so now.

Turwaithion whispered something into the ear of Turwaithiels horse, and the animal nickered and trotted behind Anira "We can't let her go off on her own" he explained to his companions "We must redouble our efforts" he said "I will not see another of us die" he promised, as Fyrn sped into a gallop.

Deawen was silent after the skirmish and even more grave. At the mention of consoling families something cold stirred in her stomach. The loss of another companion was too much for Deawen's fragile and simple mind. she rode after her companions silently and at a distance only about ten feet but enough to give her space. Shre was wonded yet again a sword cut on her arms that she silently bound but hid from the others. She had a horrible feeling the Elves would twice as protective as usual.

Anira rode in silence with the company, Turwaithiel's weapons safely fastened with her own for now. At the moment her thoughts dwelt on her fallen friend and what she would tell her family once she had returned-if she returned. She sighed heavily knowing that although Turwaithiel was at peace, but her family's pain would just begin-a pain that she herself knew far to well. Anira then glanced back to look at Deawen who rode just slightly behind them. "Are you alright?" she asked.

Arwen glanced over at Deawen, giving her a small smile. She looked back ahead of her. Death was always difficult to comprehend. There were no words she could say that might comfort the human woman, so she remained silent.

Deawen rode in silence and only nodded her head in responce.

Turwaithion sighed. If the pace continued, they would reach Hithlum in 2 days. The elven-bred horses were as tireless as thier masters, and they tore through the forest easily. Durion and Calam's weapons clanked in his saddlebag, a reminder of recent events.

Deawen quickened her mares pace so that she drew level with her companions. Though her horse showed no signs of weariness Deawen did. She took her hair out of it's usual tied back and pinned up style and let it loose. Her auburn and copper hair whipped behind her giving her a wild and untamable look.

The quartet sped through the open land tirelessly, and by the time nightfall came, they were well within the treeline. Turwaithion picketed the horses, then drew his sword and sat down on a log, taking the first watch.

Deawen settled near Turwaition and sighed. "I will not offer words of comfort, for I know I have none to say that you haven't heard before."

Turwaithion said nothing for a moment, then sighed. "Durion and Calam raised me like their son, alongside Ustuion. They were amongst my closest friends as an elfling. They were there for me after my father's death. Durion's son Mannar named me his daughter's guardian. I was family to them all. Now? What wil they think when I bring home thier weapons and nothing else? Durion was Istuion's brother. They were my guardian s until I reached adulthood." The elf sighed, and drew Calam's sword from his pack. "I trained under them as a marchwarden. They saved my life 10 times over. They were perhaps the best friends I knew. And now, they may not even see the Blessed Realm again." at this, he bit his lip and bowed his head. "Hino hidh ab'wanath" he wispered hoarsley. Then, he turned to Deawen "Thank you, titta ohtar, for listening." he said

Arwen looked over at Turwaithion and Deawen. Her pale blonde hair shivered in the wind round her white, emotionless face.
"Death is all around, especially in times such as these," she said quietly. "But we must take comfort in the fact that though the dead will not see the Grey Havens, their spirits will live in peace."

((yes, but Beleriand is still in one piece. The Grey havens are not even thought of yet. The Noldor are stuck here, for all they know. If you mean Valinor, then you put in the wrong place name.
