Two years after the war of the ring all is peaceful and quiet save that is in the south but to the North an evil lurks holding the far north and the realms of Arnor in ice.
These tidings have reached King Elessar he is concerned for his lands and people as the icy grip seems to be traveling farther south each
month. He decides to send a small band to the north to seek out the evil and destroy it.
Now I have rules if you would like to join!
1. No oneliners it drives me nuts and is useless.
2. you must be able to post frequently as I am a lightning poster and post every day twice a day.
3. I am not the only person that created this rp my friends Morwen1 and Sen starfire have just as equal power as i do concerning the plot as they have been informed of the idea. I am always open for ideas all you have to do is PM me.
4. You may have supernatural characters just keep it natural as possible.
ex. my character is able to wield fire and summon it at will.
5. Your character can be an elf but i don't want too many elves.
we begin our story in Rohan.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
name: Deawen DragonHeart
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Apperance: Short but not stocky(5ft), slender and pale with copper hair and azure eyes. wears dark colors.
Spouse: Sen Starfire
weapons: sword, two daggers and a knife
Attitude: tends to be observant and cold but to those she trusts she is playful and welcoming.
History: her past is something she doesn't open up about (save in flashbacks haha)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Deawen pulled her cloak tighter around her, keeping the icy wind at bay.
She stood on the front terraces of her childhood home in the Westfolde looking out over the village.She had just arrived that morning before dawn. The house was empty and cold as it had been shut up when Deawen left for the wars, but she had a friend watch over the great house while she was gone. Now a fire crackled in the fire pit and the dust was chased out, the tables were set aright, tapastries hung on the walls, and fresh torches were placed. Deawen traced the etched wood embedded with gold remembering her childhood all the hours she spent here thinking of the old stories.
She turned to the doorway and entered the hall surveying the servants as a commander would his troops. She had decided this was the best place for her companions to meet up at for their journey. Minas Tirith was too crowded and her house there could not house more than three guests at a time. Her ancestral home was three times bigger and had a stable to hold twenty horses. When she married Sen little did he know of her dowery's size, a prize most men would kill for.
Deawen seated herself on a carven chair and awaited her companions and her Husband.

hey i'd love to join.
Name: Halana
Age: 18
Sex: female
Race: human
Apperance: about 5'6, long blonde hair, she's pretty, but not model pretty. she had dark brown eyes
Weapons: bow and arrows, and a sword
Personality: foucused, mostly a lover not a fighter but she'll fight when she feels the need to. she trusts too many people, sometimes it turned out bad. she is trust worthy herself though, she is kind, but not in battle. she is young but acts far above her age.
history, she is from rohan but has lived in the white city for a year now. she decided she would leave her family and try and serve in the army. Eoyen(sp) had opened many doors for women wanting to be in the army. she is someone she looks up to.
[EDIT]
Halana rode up on her horse and led it to the stables with grace. she got the horse settled and patted it's nose and then walked over to the house. she knocked on the door and awaited for someone to come and open it.
she looked around, the wind was chilly, she pulled her cloak around her tighter. she knew she would be in front of a warm fire soon. for she saw the smoke rising in the air earlier.

Can I join?
Name: Anira (Ah-neer-ah)
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Appearance: http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/2144/a ... urnes6.jpg
Steed: Thalion
Personality: Strong-willed and dignified, she often masks her tender spirit behind an exterior of steel. However, she is extremely faithful and will do all in her power to defend all whom she loves and holds dear.
Weapons: Bow and Arrow, long twin daggers and a couple of throwing swords
Special Abilities: Can harness the air element (though she can not control all aspects of it) and can bend lightning to her will
History: She chooses to speak little of it.
Anira rode up to the house where they were to meet upon her steed. At any other moment, she would have noted the beauty of the wild, yet the time for such delight was past. The chill of the wind brought her tidings of an impending darkness that even she could not explain. Dismounting with the grace of a well-trained horsewoman, she quickly set the animal in the stables and gently rubbed his nose, giving the beast a smile that came so rarely these days. “Thank you friend,” she whispered to the steed before turning to head toward the house. Drawing her cloak about her, she could see that another woman already waited outside. “Greetings, friend.” she remarked as she drew near.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"At last," she thought as she attempted to push her way against the seemingly ceaseless blasts of chilly air "...a chance to do something truly of worth, of value, that will matter." This thought circled Imlosiel's mind many times during the days, and it trully sustained her as she made this journey to a stranger's home, where she was to begin this new life of purpose.
She had heard the same talk of disturbing news coming out of the North that had reached the ears of The King from one of the many groups of travelers she had guided through the Gap of Rohan. They spoke of evil in Arnor, and of ice in places where there had been none before. These tidings deeply troubled her...Imlosiel abhored the ice and the snow, the tendrils of frozen air that reached down your throat and pained your lungs as each breath escaped.
News of a group to be sent out by King Elessar to Arnor had also been shared with her, and it had immeadiatley peaked her interest. A chance for an adventure, a journey to a land in which she had yet to step her feet? It sounded perfect. She sighed. "I can stand such frigid torment if the outcome of this sojourn is indeed sucessful...and even if it is not so, will I not have gained new companions? Knowledge of a new country?"
The sight of smoke winding its way out of a chimeny in the distance brought her back to earth and out of her thoughts. Imlosiel's heart warmed as she realized this was her destination! After a bit more of walking she reaches the property and sees someone else waiting to be let inside the grand home. Imlosiel takes a deep breath steps forward, greeting her new companion with a smile.
((OOC: Okay, this is seriously my first RP...so feel free to correct me about anything. ^^;; Also, was this too much writing? I don't want to over do it.))

Halana smiled at the two older women. " greetings friends." she smiled. " so you two have been invited on this quest as well." she said with grace.
she looked at Anira. " i would wait until we were inside to introduce myself, when we were amongst a fire and more company, but my name is Halana and i am from the white city...or rohan..which ever you prefur. " she smiled sweetly. " and who might you be?" she asked very curious like.

"My name is Anira." she replied with an inclination of her head. "A pleasure to meet you Halana." she said with a smile. "I hail from the White City, although I am a wanderer by nature and have spent some years in the wild and have frequented Rohan often." She then turned to the older woman who had joined them. "Might we have your name, my lady?" she asked Imlosiel.

(welcome All, I am glad to see you! And No that was not too much trust me you haven't seen me in a frenzy I tend to write Epics!)
A servant opened the carved doors with a bow to the guests, there was no need for asking if they were expected or not, the servant led them into the hall. Deawen still sat in her chair she looked up at the guests with a warm smile " Welcome My Friends to the hall of Dragons, My home I am glad you have taken the offer but for now please come in and make yourselves comfortable as we wait for the others."
Her voice was very percise but soft
" I am Lady Deawen of the Westfolde," she gave a slight nod to them in greeting.

Imlosiel silently marveled at the beautiful interior of the home as she stepped inside with the two other women, the servent quickly closing the door behind them in an effort to allow none of the cold to snake its way in. Besides the Halls of Edoras, she had never before found herself in an abode so grandiose.
Imlosiel now stood before the Lady of these halls, and after the welcome and introduction Imlosiel bowed and introduced herself. "Greetings my Lady, I am Imlosiel en Randir. I have not much to offer except my skills with traveling, tracking, and the telling of tales. I hope you will accept my services."

(Aha! Here at last!)
name: Sen Starfire
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Apperance: 6' even, shoulder length blonde hair, ice blue eyes, strong, though not overly muscular build.
weapons: Twin swords (death swords, you might hear about them in the RP), and a greatsword
Attitude: Sen is a quiet individual; calculating in most of what he does. However, when he needs to act, he does so without reservation, and with a will stronger than steel.
History: You will see...
*Sen stepped into the hall, brushing the light snow off of his coat. He had just been to visit a messenger; the Storm were doing well against the goblins in the Misty mountains, and had wedged a spearhead into the ancient halls of the dwarves. He wished he could be there with them, but he had more important matters to attend to, and Raelun was a good commander in his absence. With a nod to the others that had already gathered, he stepped up beside his wife, Deawen. He had still not gotten used to thinking that way, but time will change that...*
Hello, my love. All goes well, and it seems that the Storm are alright, even in my absence. I see that we have some guests. I assume they are all here to accompany us?

Deawen stood at her husbands presence with a warm smile
" that is good tidings then, Yes these are hopefuly only a few of many that will accompany us to the north. " she replied.
She then turned her attention to her guests
" well met Imlosiel, All skills are welcome as we have a hard road ahead of us and your skills may be needed,"
as she spoke a few servants brought out bowls and loaves of bread and a second carved chair for Sen.
In a quiet tone Deawen whispered to her husband " Raelun is a good leader I am sure they will be fine.." she smiled again
" I am afriad King Elessar won't ever let us rest if he keeps sending us off to the ends of the earth. " her tone was playful but truth saturated her words.

Anira followed Imlosiel into the spacious home of the lord and lady of the Westfold. Admiring the intricate design of the home for a brief moment, she then turned her attention to the Lord and Lady. "Greetings, my lord and lady. I am Anira of Gondor." she said with a deferential nod of her head. "It is an honor to aid in this quest. What skills I have in the sword, bow and magical arts do I offer you if you will have them"

Deawen nodded her head in greeting " Those skills we need most, but I must ask.." here she paused and her tone changed from welcoming to questioning " you said magical arts... and what would that be exactly?"
" there are many magic arts in this world but too few are good"

Anira nodded. "I have some control over the air element and lightning yields to my command." she whispered in hushed tones so that only those present would hear. "Two traits that I have kept hidden from most save for a select few until now." she added. "I prefer to fight with sword and bow, but I will not hesitate to use my 'other' abilities if necessary. As my companions, I thought you had the right to know instead of being surprised in battle-if one should ensue."

"Ah, would that I was so blessed to be born with such control over the elements." Imlosiel sighed dreamily. "It is comforting to know that such arts are indeed being used for the good of us all, instead of the ruin," she said with a smile.

Name: Morwen Líesing
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Appearance: Short, blonde, blues eyes
Weapons: Shortsword, bow, axe.
Nationality: Rohan
Mount: Breda
History: Was a captain during the war of the ring, discharged just before the climax of the war by Grima. Joins up with Deawen for most of her adventures. After the war, married Eohric Líesing, no children as of yet. Living in Edoras, an advisor to King Eomer.
Special Powers: a razor sharp wit and tongue
~~~~~~~
Morwen could feel the change in the air, though she could not tell what it was. It had little to do with the abnormally cold weather, nor with the problems of reconstructing the Wold. No, it was something else, not malignant or evil, but...mischevious. She stood on the stone steps leading to her house, gazing at the open plains toward Minas Tirith. No, she thought to herself. You're just bored. Finish the reports! She turned with a sigh and returned to her writing desk in her bower.
She sat and stared at the quill (formerly a hawk's wing-tip feather.) She tried to read the news of the reopening of a copper mine in the small town of Copergræf. "First month yields 11 carts ore, refined: 5 cubits, grade 4. Profits bought 70 bushels wheat from the Gondorian town of..."
She threw it down. She was in dire need of an escape. She took the quill, inked its tip, and wrote a short missive to the authro of this painful report:
"Aelfred:
Less detail, if you please. People must actually read these without dying from sheer bordom. Honestly!
Regards,
Morwen Líesing, King-consult of the Westfold"
She set it aside and pulled another pile of parchment to her: an account of her adventures with Deawen. She set about writing a bit more before Eohric would make her return to her real work.
MORWEN! haha Sen joined before you this is new. Um Morwen...how can you be in Minas tirith when we are in Rohan? we are not backtracking I plan to leave rohan and go straight north...Just sayin' unless you have a most genius plan...and I noticed Eohric as your character's spouse...hahahahahaa)
Deawen nodded with a crooked smile she glanced to her husband " Yes that is wise, but if we are going to be honest then I shall be too.. " she paused and pointed to the fire in the fire pit " see that flame? watch it " at first nothing was truely visible save for the flames began to rise and flare. then it went out completely with no signs of ever being ablaze. then she flicked her wrist and the flame leapt up almost to the ceiling then settled to a normal height.
" We both have the ability to summon, wield and create fire" she nodded to her husband. " please sit as we wait for the others" She indicated the chairs and benches around the hall " you may eat if you wish there is stew and bread"
