"Then we'll prceed with caution. I hope we don't run into any trouble. I'd like to get to Rohan without incident." Oldin told Areanne. "Will you continue going ahead? We'll follow behind you. That way, if you see anything, we can avoid it."

Eonwe found herself back in the small cell, alone, unable to move from the.dizzying pain. She watched outside, her eyelids heavy. She could only hope the pain would go away.

Areanne nodded promptly and slipped silently into the bushes. Hands on he rknife hilts, she listened and gazed about expertly. The footprints were fairly stale, and nothing was about near them.

Nessa glared at Tawry behind his back. They were getting nowhere. "Tawry I think--"
"Shh," came his quiet rebuke "Something's coming."

Oldin nudged the horse forward, hoping that they wouldn't run into trouble. "Don't go too far ahead," he murmured under his breath as Areanne slipped out of sight.

Logan could hear voices further up ahead. He stiffened as he came to a hault. His right hand gripped the hilt of his broad sword. He slowly moved forward, his eyes trained on the footprints and the path ahead.

"Yes...Don't go too far..." Marylyn mirrored Oldin's concern. She shivered slightly, peering around at the neighbouring trees. She cast her eyes upward, the sun was fading from view. "We'll need to move quickly."

Areanne nodded and slipepd off up ahead with masterful stealth. She examined the area tensely, hardly daring to breathe. The tracks didn't seem fresh... Still, to be safe, she began to check the areas around. Nothing seemed to be there. She returned.
"Whatever it is is gone," she murmured quietly, "But we need to be careful. It could be nearby..."

soon Eonwe was able to slip into blissful unconsciousness. for the moment, she didn't have to move. didn't have to think. though her life of endless work would return to normal early the next morning, she was happy for the moments she had of rest.

Which direction was the noise coming from? Nessa trained her ears to listen. She heard nothing but the normal sounds of the forest.
"How do you know?" she whispered.
"I can feel it." Tawry whispered back. "Now, be quiet, and follow me." They started to weave a path through the trees, hping to shake thier pursuer.

"We could continue through the night if we must," Oldin said to Marylyn.

Soon the trail began to weave in and out between the trees. Logan was quick on their trail and was soon beginning to second guess his prey. He wondered if he should call out, but then again he had no idea if who he was pursueing was a friend or foe. All he knew was that they were leading him on a merry little journey and he was growing impatient very fast.

"We will have no time to rest anyway. It would not be safe to either. Who knows what or who could be lingering out in the woods." Marylyn's lips tightened into a grim line.

Areanne's dark eyes flitted side to side, uneasiness settling about her. It seemed unsettlingly quiet....

"Up the tree!" Tawry whispered impatiently to Nessa.
"I never learned how!"
"Well, I hope you learn quickly!"
Nessa sighed, scrambling up the tree after him. She only went a few branches up.
"Now, we'll see who's following us," Tawry said confidently.

Eonwe was awakened that same night by being pulled roughly to her feet. "Cale." she groaned. She knew his name...knew that he was in league with her brother. "back to work, princess." his words dripped sarcasm as he hefted her out of the cell. "last i knew, the horses need feed and water."

Logan looked along the track, his brows leaping up in surprise to find the footprints disappear entirely. He paused where he stood and peered around at the trees. He narrowed in on a boot. He smirked and slid behind a try. "Who are you?" He asked, throwing his voice slightly to hide himself.

The sound of an owl hooting in the distance threw tingles up Marylyn's spine. "It's awfully quiet tonight. I don't know whether to be worried or thankful."
