I should have been able to save her. I could have. Accurses! Corwin thought as he ran through the foresty.

Name: Eleniel Falassaiwie
Race: High Elf, yet she was born on the Hither Shore
Parentage: Lossilmie and Earolos
Hair: Long and dark brown, and looks black in some lights
Eyes: Dark green tinted with silver. Starlight glimmers in them, and they are like deep wells of wisdom and memory and dreams.
Description: She has pale skin and fine features. Around her moonlight seems to shimmer, even in broad day, and she possesses an etherealness and a silver grace. Tall, even for one of the Elder Kindred, she can be grave as the shadows of night or merry as the sunlight. Usually she's calm and quiet, however. She loves singing and music, and the song of the Sea or the stars, and has a clear, beautiful voice.
Attire: Long white dress with flowing sleeves, silver embroidery on the bodice, and a silver belt. She also wears a white silver-hemmed cloak with a hood. Her shoes are soft grey Elvenboots, and a circlet of mithril crowns her hair.
Weapons: Sword, white bow, and quiver of arrows
Steed: A white Elvenmare named Ninquelin, for her neigh is as the music of bells. Often she wanders at will, but will come swiftly if Eleniel calls.
Gifts: She possesses exceeding knowledge of things that grow on the earth, and of medicine lore, and her slender, long-fingered hands hold the gift of healing.
She knows the language of birds, and they love her.
She is blessed with foresight and unusual perception, into things both of the waking world and of the heart.
History: She was born in a secluded corner of Doriath, on a night of stars, beside a stream like clear silver. Now she makes journeys through the lands, though it is Doriath she calls her home, for now, at least. Ever deep in her heart lies the Sea-longing, and one day she will sail to the Undying Lands, where one she loves awaits her...
(I'll start the action in the next post.)

(Please tell me if I start doing anything wrong.)
Eleniel walked silently through the shadows of Doriath, and it was near dawn. Only a few hours before she had returned from a journey, and loosed Ninquelin into the woods to wander free awhile. In the starlit darkness a nightingale had told Eleniel of all the great happenings that had befallen Doriath. These tidings troubled Eleniel greatly, in particular that so fair and bright a maiden as Melare should fall under so dark a Shadow. Eleniel had loved the joyful singer, and to have her struck down was like watching a cloud come suddenly to darken the Sun.
As the tall Elf strolled through the trees, her footsteps led her to a high hill, whose crown was raised above the surrounding forest. While she looked on it, a single golden beam slipped out from the East--the first ray of sunrise--and it struck a shining strand of hair that lay upon the grass. With a sudden burst of understanding, Eleniel perceived who it belonged to. She gazed into the glory of the Dawn. Let the door be opened, and the light of Arien enter in! With new resolve, Eleniel turned her footsteps toward the home of Annariel, and of her daughter Melare. When she reached it, the Sun was fully visible. Eleniel knocked on the gate, softly calling, "It is Eleniel Falassaiwie, one who grieves for Melare. May i enter in?"

Silmeriel knew immediately where she was. She was in Morgoth's palace, in a dungeon. She felt for walls, and realized that both her wrists and ankles were chained.

She drifted over to Silmeriel. Sighing she looked down at the struggling figure. a tear slid down her translucent face as she saw her sorrow. she misses Corwin Kiara thought. kneeling without a word she undid Silmeriels bonds with a soft wave of her hand.
she straightened, her emerald green eyes shining brightly, even in the gloom of the dungeon. she desperatly wanted to tell Silmeriel how to escape, but Morgoth had stolen her voice as punishment. all she could do was put her hand to her forehead and bow. go fast, and luck be with you Kiara thought to her as she drifted away.

Silmeriel was surprised at the action. She closed her eyes and managed a small mind-whisper. *Thank you, Kiara.* she said quietly.

She nodded then turned and drifted away thru the wall. she came into Morgoths chamber, where he sat on his throne. she closed her mind from him, a tool she had mastered quite quickly after he ransacked her mind numerous times. he said nothing to her, only pointed to a document on a table near him. if she had a voice, she would have cried out in shock and pain. it was a letter to a friend of her parents, saying that they had passed away. tears burst from her eyes as it said that they had been murdered by servants of Morgoth. staring up at him, fear and an undescribable anger in her eyes she fled from his sights and onto the grounds. she knelt in the dirt, sorrow over taking her, and said a small prayer. then she looked up. resolution stung in her eyes. she needed to find Corwin.

The journey to Menegroth had been quick. The elves mourned at the sight of Silmerial's physical body, but it only filled COrwin with resolve. We shall not lose another to Morgoth's evil! His face grew into a expression of great rage. He turned upon the assembled elves of Thingol's court.
"Are we to just sit here until Morgoth has possessed every last one of us? I SAY THIS EVIL HAS GONE ON LONG ENOUGH!" His anger was great, as was his prowess.
Thingol arose from his seat at the back of the hall. " Prudence Corwin, prudence. How are we to assial Morgoth's forces when our might cannot match his? The Vala will not risk another war as such made long ago. What strength have we?"
Corwin's face was like a thundercloud. "The Quinya are numerous and great. Strength we have together, yet through treachery and deciet has Morgoth sundered your people. My people. All together, united, the Quinya have strength beyond that which you know."
Thingol was troubled by the words of Corwin and he sat and thought. "We must think upon your words friend. Messengers will be dispatched to summon those trustworthy enough to hear them. I, however, will never join in league with the Sons of Feanor for their crimes against my kindred in the land of the Vala." The word Feanor came out like a curse and Corwin's anger grew still greater.
"Oh mighty King of Menegroth, is there such hate within your heart that you cannot percieve that the evil deeds of the offspring of Feanor come from a common source as that that has taken the life of many elves such has Silmerial? Morgoth is the evil of this world, and the son's of Feanor were tricked by him."
Thingol stood up from his throne, his face livid with anger. "And would you have me forgive those kin-slayers who broke the peace of Valinor and shed blood upon the green grass of the undying lands? Here me, friend, I can never forgive nor forget the crimes of the son's of Feanor. Never shall I join with them."
Corwin's face grew stony. "I had thought better of the Firstborn. It appears that the might and strength given to them has wasted away with their petty squabbling and fighting. When a real enemy sits in power, they refuse to find a common cause and continue on a course of self-obliteration. Sit and squabble, petty king. I go alone to face the hordes. Farewell." With that Corwin strode quickly to the door.
For many long minutes there was silence in the hall. Thingol brooded upon his throne. Maylan was sorely troubled. For all her foresight, she could she nothing of the destiny of the stranger called Corwin. "Vala be with you. I wish you good upon your journey, though it can lead only to sufferilng."

At that moment, quiet footsteps echoed through the hall. Led by her mother and an Elven healer, Melarë made her first timid steps back into the world. She blinked hard, like one who has been in darkness for many years, brought suddenly into the light of day.
Melarë's mother was grateful to the healer who had spent such ceaseless hours to her daughter's recovery. Melarë tried to be inconspicuous, and carefully made her way independently to her harp. Even her almost sightless eyes could distinguish the light of day outside, and she pursued it with determination.
Once outside, Melarë dropped to her knees. The sunlight was piercing, so potent that it burned her eyes. She tried in vain to stand.

(I'm confused. Is the healer supposed to be my Eleniel or someone else? )

(Thank you for clearing that up! If it's okay with you why don't we just say it is my character, since that was her plan in coming to Melare's house? I'll go ahead and post as if the healer is Eleniel. )
Eleniel took Melare's hand to help her up. She had worked long seeking to restore the light-filled gold that lay under such deep Shadow, and it gladdened her to see it hesitantly shining again. She will brighten and heal again, thought Eleniel, and she moved so that her shadow fell across Melare, whose eyes were as yet still so blinded.

She appeared out of nowhere. standing silently by Corwins side he didnt see her at first. her eyes burned brightly at the sight of him, but her thoughts were keenly masked. she opened her mouth, but no sound escaped. a tear slide down her cheek as she thought of all the things she longed to tell him, but could not. she looked down at the ground to hide her shame.
