I'm starting this again...here's the second to last and last posts.

A tear slid down her cheek. "Silmeriel, if you dont leave now, Morgoth will take you as ransom so he can get his hands on Corwin. Why dont you believe me!? i have been trying to help you from the beggining. he stole my soul, i am his slave. i would rather live forever like this, than to see another become lost in his grip. Please Silmeriel, leave, and let Morgoth take me as you...." - by KiaraSiladhiel

and the last post...

I would do anything to protect Corwin... she thought to herself. "That may very well be true, but I will not leave. I cannot, without hating myself for abandoning my friends."- by Silmeriel

so, let's go![/i]

"I will save Corwin, he will flee with you, and ignore Morgoth as he tries to threaten him. You and him will be safe!"

"No." Silmeriel said. "No!" She shook her head sadly. "Ask him first."

She closed her eyes. "Then ask, but we dont have much time!"

Silmeriel stood up to ask Corwin, but never reached him. All she remembered was flash of light, pain, and then darkness. Her last thought was that she knew she wouldn't want to wake where she knew she would.

Corwin sat among the trees. Where could they be? He thought. In consternation he stood up and walked in the direction Silmerial and her friend had taken.
His eyes fell upon Silmerial upon the ground and then upon Kiara in Silmerial's form. With a cry he leaped over to were Silmerial lay. He hugged her still form to him and felt for a heart beat. Please live! Oh please!

Silmeriel's body slowly dissolved into black mist. Morgoth's laugh rang out over their heads as her body and spirit were moved to Morgoth's palace.

She melted back into her own ghost form and lay still.

Silmeriel's eyes slowly opened to see the leering face of Morgoth. "Hello, slave." he hissed.

She could feel a cold around her like a shimmering veil trapping her. mist floated before her eyes and it entered into her. a voice, so familiar yet so dispised whispered into her ear. "You failed Kiara..." and then a great pain hit her. a scream, a horrible heart wrenching scream flew from her lips and she rolled on the grass as every inch of her seared with pain.

As Corwin hugged Silmerial to him, her flesh took on a gray hue. He poured what little magical power he had within himself into her, willing her to return to the light. Live... Live...

Silmeriel felt herself passing through a gray mist. Her body was passing through space. It slipped out of Corwin's hold and rose, flying over the forest into the dungeons of Morgoth.

her scream ended. the pain stopped. everything vanished as she followed Silmeriel, into Morgoth's waiting arms.

Corwin looked sadly at Silmerial's limp form. His eyes brimmed with tears. "There is nothing more I can do, except to bring you somewhere you cannot be harmed." He delicately lifted her up and started back on the road to Menegroth. "I can track that man anytime..."

Melarë had not stirred since Morgoth's terrible spell overpowered her. She lay now in a heavy sleep, helplessly pinned, motionless, devoid of all strength. "And she may lay there for a thousand years yet," her mother mused. It was the hour before dawn, and Annariel sat underneath the slender skylight by the side of her daughter. She wept softly for the days of sunlight that Melarë would never see.

In the forest of Doriath, dawn would echo across the expanse of the nocturnal forest, then burst in full glory in the sky, lighting brilliantly the shades of the trees, and the hues of the leaves. Never did it burst forth so as it did now, and Annariel lifted up tear-rimmed eyes.

"Arien! Maiden of fiery glory, Morgoth could not quench you utterly. Lend strength to my daughter, who is enamoured of the light you bring, do not let Morgoth quench her light as well! For she is dying, dead already. Those who set out to pursue the darkness have not returned, and we despair."

She awoke to find herself back in her body. but that was the only good thing. she lay on a cold stone floor, helplessly surrounded by thick iron walls. Fatuige overtook her, and she lay back down, unable to sleep, yet unable to move. a single tear slid down her sullied cheek as her ragged breathing echoed in the small prison.
